  • I like the TBS Theatre "Rainbow Countdown" card from 0:20 to 0:22 ; can you find a video that has the opening of that card, please?

  • @gameshow1992 Just uploaded it, just for you.

  • Hi jcburns, would you happen to have access to the Atlanta Braves theme music on TBS at the beginning of telecast? this would have been in the years 81, 82 or 83. The one posted by RetroBoyWontDie is a little later and not what I'm looking for.

    thanks

  • Is that some scanimate I see?

  • @90sVideoEquipment Nope. Just early 1980s TV control room stuff. Cameras shooting black and white type and lots of simultaneously rolling tape machines. Very, very old school.

  • You are correct. Very sorry to have lost Mr. Troll, AKA Bill Tullis. His sense of musical style gave the SuperStation a quality and vibrancy way, way beyond its meager production budget.

  • Bill Tullis, whose voice I think was near this end of this video, was an announcer for TBS for many years. He also did the voice for various commericals, including the beggin strips "bacon dog"....."it's BACON!" Tullis, who recently passed away, got his start as a DJ in Valdosta, GA

  • Depressing that there was nothing about Georgia Championship Wrestling on there. Pretty sure it was one of (if not THE) highest rated shows on TBS at the time.

  • TBS is a mere shadow of its old self. I miss the movies I used to see on there, like the Eieger Sanction, Devil Dog (Hound of Hell) and Walking Tall (with Joe Don Baker). That's just to name a few. Loved the afternoon lineup that station used to have as well.

  • Is that an AVR-1 Ampex Quad shown at about the 1 minute mark?

  • It's one of three AVR-3s that were in the WTCG/WTBS production room on West Peachtree Street. They also had one AVR-2, but never an AVR-1 (unless you count the insides of ACR-25s)

  • Does anyone remember the friday night movie feature that had "Fast times" and "Valley girl" in the promos? Ive been trying to remember, because I can swear "Bonzo goes to Bitburg" by THE RAMONES is the background music. If it isnt theirs its def. the same vocal melody from the chorus. The "baaaaaa baa baa baaa" part

  • Anyone know where I can download this song from? The soundtrack is out of print and now where to be found.

  • @pimplimp334 I found the song on someone's blog. Google electric horseman theme. it's on a guy's blog called "Loudman Quietman"

  • I gave up on Cable three years ago. Too many Commercials, too little Variety. Since I stopped paying the Subscription Fee I have accumulated over 15,000 TV Episodes on DVD, along with nearly 1,400 Movies and 1000 Hours of other programming. :)

  • @Borntocoast You should get a free to air satellite receiver.

  • what is the name of this song because i love it!!!!!

  • @Merekatherine It's The Electric Horseman Theme by David Grusin from the movie of the same name.

  • Thanks!

  • whats the name of this song??????

  • You gotta love WTBS in the 80s. Today's TBS is as good as the original.

  • Damn Ted you had it all and blew it, now CNN sucks, TBS sucks and TNT blows. The Braves are the bottom of the barrel, WCW is dead. what a damn shame.

  • Not to mention Cartoon Network's showing REALITY shows!

  • Oh, Ted. What happened?

  • Tush

  • Awesome, that is back when TBS's Master Control use to be in the Mansion. Now adays, there is only 1 one-inch tape machine in Master Control, and it's only used once in a blue moon!

  • @SBTelevision I miss the live look of 2 inch master videotape. Almost everything now has a" filmized" digital look

  • um...reading the clip info to the right of the video may give you some information.

  • What is the name of the music playing in this video?

  • Announcer:We Hope Enjoy The Preceding Short Feature.

  • This Music was used in the opening tp WWF's Primetime Wrestling in 1985-1988.

  • Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful graphics with us. I'd love to see more CNN graphics from the 1980s and early 1990s. I really liked the channel's "look and feel" of that time. My family was one of the first in Slovenia to buy a huge satellite dish to pick up CNN International back in 1988, so many of those clips really bring back a lot of memories.

  • wanna see more WTBS promo and graphcs

  • Wow, pretty impressive graphics for 1982
