I think that in time you'll learn about other great guitarists such as Frank Zappa, Tommy Emmanuel or one of my favourites Link Wray. Cobain was a good song writer, he definitely knew how to write a hit, but good guitar player? well, he certainly doesn't belong here with other names you put ..

I agree with other users on a common ground - that your favourite guitarists are either totallly overrated to the point where I think it was without question to add them into the list (Dimebag, Morello, Hendrix, Slash, etc) or really do lack the technical skills (sorry, but I have to use Kobain as an example, although he was an influence).
However, I'm pretty sure that if you were to make a 'most talented guitarists' list then it would be entirely different.

So because an artist is "over rated" means he shouldn't be on the list? It doesn't mean they suck at guitar. I think Eddie is a amazing guitarist, a guitar solo doesn't need to be a million notes per minute and has to be the most complicated thing ever to be great, i'd like to see anyone calling these guitarists go up in a guitar battle with Eddie, Hendrix or Slash.
I have to agree, Cobain is not a good guitarist, anyone can play what he played, his talent was writing.

Cobain is terrible at guitar, Slash is overrated as hell and he sucks,Kirk Hammett is pretty good but you chose are terrible song,Kirk can do alot better than that. Page = overrated,not actually good, Eddie Van Halen = overrated,all his solos are just tapping and tapping is the easiest thing ever.Hendrix is the most overrated thing ever on this planet,Hendrix is terrible at guitar. @thebehmont1 don't fucking say that he doesn't know anything about guitar, because obviously neither do you. this isn't a list of the top 10 fastest guitarists. what makes a good guitarist is how they use techniques, note, etc to create music that SOUNDS GOOD.
as for most of the people on this list: don't say they ARE shit, when they're peak was decades ago. music is evolving, and most of these people helped revolutionise it.
just because music is easy to play, doesn't mean it sucks

I agree with other users on a common ground - that your favourite guitarists are either totallly overrated to the point where I think it was without question to add them into the list (Dimebag, Morello, Hendrix, Slash, etc) or really do lack the technical skills (sorry, but I have to use Kobain as an example, although he was an influence).
However, I'm pretty sure that if you were to make a 'most talented guitarists' list then it would be entirely different.
