  • Cadauctions31-it worked! I tried everything else first. You saved me thanks!

  • After 1 year mine has now been Christened..A Piece of Shit.

Stopped working, more water gets dumped back into the resevoir than the cup.

ive googled a fix to death and have tried everything..So, the fucking thing cost me 10 bucks a month, plus the cost of the kcups, 1 a day...and the aggravation i am suffering right now.

  • This the worst coffee maker of the world, if you consider the price you pay for this crap machine

  • I have had 2 and they both did the same thing. I now have a MR Coffee k cup machine.

  • Sometimes I stick my finger under that return reservoir and then water will begin to come out of the right hole and make coffee.

  • I am on my 3rd machine and my latest problem has been water back filling into the reservoir. I have read many solutions on here but none have worked. All I did is go to their website and read the maintenance part. It stated to get a paperclip or toothpick and lift open the unit. Place the tooth pick into the hole of the needle underneath the head. I pulled out dome packed in grounds and ran a cycle and it poured out like new!

  • @tentspike1

Yay! This actually worked! I was ready to pull my hair out. I stuck a safety pin into the needle hole and a TINY amount of grounds came out. After that it worked perfectly!!! Thank you!!

  • I hate this machine! The product is over priced and the machine has planned obsolessence. three of my friends have had simular experiences. Screw this machine I'm going back to Mr Coffee

  • Compressed air into the back most hole on the overflow spout worked great. Thank you for your suggestions.

  • I think the recommended fix is to run straight white vinegar through the machine to clean the internal workings.

  • Cadauctions31 was right!!!!! Took off bottom and tapped water lines pretty hard, and now it is working perfectly!!!! Thanks for advice

  • Same thing here, on my third machine

  • Mine did the same thing this AM (man... was I pissed...I need my cup of Joe in the mornin'). Anyways the pump kept making noise but no action and the water would go back in the tank sometimes...I was ready to give and shell out another $200 (I have the "Red" special edition...hard to get) but I decided to bang it around a bit like a few folks said...not destroy bang, but several firm bangs on the side. Well it freakin worked!!!!! works like a charm now. Try it. Thank YOU!

  • I'd say if you registered it send it back.

  • I don't know if you fixed this yet or not, but try this... unplug, turn upside down, then take off the screws from the bottom plate, then take it off. When you get it off, look inside of the machine, and you will see 2 pumps, one is bigger than the other. The big one is the water pump, and the smaller one is the air pump. Take something like a smallish size screwdriver and tap kind of hard on them and it will fix it. Trust me it does work.

  • Keurig SUCKS! I have three of these machines and everyone of them has the same problem - the pump quits working. They last from 6 months to about a year usually and then they break. No more Keurig machines for me!!

  • I bought my Platinum B76 through QVC 2 years ago this month. I called customer service and we went through procedures with a paperclip. I did what was asked and during water coming out my brewer shut off. They are sending me a new one. The lady on customer service was nice, patient and helped me with the process of cleaning out holes I didn't know the brewer had. All I have to do is descaling every 3 to 6 months which I have seen on this site. Keurig rocks.

  • if you remove the resevoir and move the small propeller around, because I noticed it wasn't moving but moved the second time around.

Samething happens with my fish take filter. Same problem and pushing the small propeller around gets it going again. It just gets stuck. Simple mechanics.

  • I just had the same problem tonight! I bought a can of compressed air and inserted the straw into the spigot and sprayed the compressed air 4-5 times and it worked! Just make sure you unplug the coffee machine and put a cup on the base. Black debris came out and water. Made 6 cups after that and it works like brand new!

  • I've had the same problem with my B70. I've had mine for 4 years. Depending on how hard your water is, it needs to be cleaned/descaled often. I have used canned air blowing back through the nozzle. It has helped. The reason it is flowing out back into the water tank is there is a clog in the line, either from coffee build up or your water.

I haven't had any other issues with mine, and as it just finally died, we are buying a new one soon.

  • I have the Platinum B76. I bought it from QVC when they premiered a year or so ago. It used to work well then summer came and I didn't use it. Now it's cold and I started using it again. It says "Brewing" and it rumbles then stops. Then I have to re-brew to get it to pour. I descaled it 3 times and it still say descale. I called Keurig and they are sending me a new one. Obviously this is a known problem. I am impressed with their customer service and satisfaction.

  • thats why you should have got the Keurig barnd water filter starter kit

  • When I first read the comment below, I thought that it was kind of silly to smack my Keurig around. But, after trying a few of the other remedies I've seen on youtube, non of which worked. Frustrated, I said what the heck have I go to losse. I smacked it, as suggested after pressing the brew button and in a few seconds it was brewing again. I've brewed several cups since and am glad I don't have to buy another one, yet. Thanks.

  • I had a similar problem last week with my B70 that was only 3 months old. What worked for me was to very firmly slap the top of the machine from the area above the K-Cup holder and all the way to the top rear and then back to the top above the K-cup holder. I ran about 4 or 5 cleansing brews while slapping the top of the unit and I had a lot of coffee grounds in the water from doing that. I think that grounds must somehow get impacted in that area and hitting the machine seems to work for me!

  • covered the vent for a cycle and it worked.

  • I think the pump or water inlet is clogged

  • I posted a video similar to yours btw of recent. If you hold the spigot for a cycle, it dumps the clogged remaining on the second cycle.

I eventually got it to work right after doing that but another solution is to buy a Keurig filter pack system. They work better on filtering solvents.

  • Hold the air nozle bro, do a cycle.

  • I can not guarantee that this will solve every issue like this but it did for me. Be careful of scalding hot water when trying this; but canned air used in the water return above the reservoir may work. Keep a tall cup on there to catch all the water that may come out. Un-plug the brewer then plug it back in because your brewer will not know if it needs to draw in more water until it has been hard-reset. I hope this works for anyone with this issue.

  • If you are using unfiltered water you need to buy bottled water or install an inline filter in your water supply. We bought our B60 Keurig in December 2010 and it is still performing well.

  • my b40 wont turn on

  • The Keurig machine tells me to add water and I do and it brews

  • Thanks for the video, the comments on this video gave me a few ideas of what to try to fix to fix nearly the same problem on my Keurig B60. The paper clip trick didn't work at all but I ended up fixing it by putting my finger on the little spigot thing that puts water back in the reservoir. I had a few bubbles come up from the bottom of the reservoir and then it started working again. I ran an a couple tanks of water through and it seems to be working like new again, for now.

  • @elangomatt

I've used mine for a 1 1/2 years and haven't had this problem until today. I believe that the little spring isn't working on the bottom of the reservoir tank. I've tried to descale twice this week-end and have already ordered a new reservoir. My mom bought all of the family members the platinum version and I am very disappointed although I loved it when it was working. I hope Keurig takes note and action soon.

  • @elangomatt

Yep, that finally did it for me. Held my fingers over the spigot, got the bubbles from the bottom, and a full cup for the first time in weeks. Thanks!

  • mine does the same and but wont brew at all

  • mine does the same thing...tried everything but a hammer.

  • my keurigs not ready light will not go off and ich is causing it to not draw water or brew how can i fix this isue

  • i have the same problems and not sure what causes it probally the check valve but i notice i only have these problems when i brew 2 large cups of coffee and the water gets low. when it acts up i fill water tank and it works fine.

  • Thank you, everyone, for your comments.

With your advice and points, my Keurig is fixed.

Not all machines have the filter in the same place, but I tried the tooth brushing with vinegar for that, and then used the paper clip for the pointed prong in the top...that really helped. Also, one more thing...I covered the valve that takes water back into the reservoir while the water pumped. Thanks for all the advice. Norwegiansong

  • I'm having the exact same problem with my Keurig! Has anything worked for you???

  • I just bought a Kureg 2 days ago and after the prime it worked fine, I turned it off. Next morning it did exactly what yours did. After the 4th time and 2 days later I took it back! I did call Kuerg and they had me poke every hole the unit has and suggested descaling... after 2 days!!

  • The descaling procedure doesn't work well on the check valve. Might even make it worse from what I've read. Perhaps because air blows the vinegar out of the valve at the end of the brew cycle. Some of the residue dislodged throughout the unit by vinegar eventually has to pass through the valve as well. I suspose it can get caught up here and then dry after use. I would assume the residue hardens as it dries. FYI...don't blow in the wrong direction through the valve or it may damage it.

  • Comment removed

  • ....The check valve is connected permanently above the larger needle, under the arm on the unit. The fix: Lift arm. Locate and remove 2 screws under arm. Now remove cover to arm. Under cover, cut off zip-tie on the clear tube. Remove clear tube ( that's the check valve connected to the clear tube). Reomove 2 screws holding valve to arm frame. Pull valve down through frame. Now blow it out where the tube was connected, rinse, repeat. You could also put valve in vinegar overnight. Get a new ziptie

  • The check valve is sticking. Just fixed mine after scouring the web for ideas. Found alot of info but no exact fixes. The water going back into the resovoir is the pressure relief valve going off (because the water wasn't able to pass through the check valve). That's what it should do, because the pressure has increased when the water heated and again when the water pump came on to "put coffee in your cup". If the water can't go into your cup, the pressure valve releases the pressure.CONT....

  • I did a combination of everything I saw in the "how to fix your Keurig" videos and after about 30 minutes of poking & smacking it finally works. I'm still thinking of returning it to Sam's Club and getting a replacement so I won't have to do this again for a few months!

  • From my experience, you need to descale it using white vinegar. But only works for a couple of cups. I usually just smack it pretty hard and it immediately pours.

  • Had ours for 6 months (it's an old black model) and it still works a treat, brewed four boxes of 120 K-cups and that sucker still going strong. Just have to put more water in it daily... Keurig should really consider making bigger tanks... or even making faucet attachments for them so they receive water when they need it.

  • @mushu5t There is a bigger tank on the Keurig site under accessories for the B60 (Not the model that he has in this video)

  • These machines are not worth the price. I am now on my 4th replacement, they only work for about 3 months then crap out. Keurig really needs to work out the kinks if they are going to continue to sell these expensive machines. I'm beginning to think my mother has the right idea with her $13.00 plastic coffee pot she's been using faithfully for years!

  • My machine has this problem. As others have posted, a good swift smack to the neck after the coffee is supposed to start flowing (0:32 in this video) fixes it every time.

So beat it. Just beat it.

  • mine is doing the same thing

  • @keegne this is what you do to fix it,if what i'm about to tell you doesn't work.your brewer will need to be replaced.1st unplug brewer 2nd get a paper clip 3rd lift the handle 4th up under the handle is a sharp needle so be careful. That needle has 3 holes on it.YES 3!Put your paper clip in each hole and wiggle it around.5)if water is going back into water tank after you clean..call for a replacement :) Hope it helps

  • did you fix your problem?

  • **For some reason it won't let me post a link to the fix. Google B70 Compressed Air and click on the link from the site all-about-coffee-makers

  • Some people have had luck using a can of compressed air to pass any blockage in the machine. Link below.......

  • they are now sending me my 4th machine (3 replacements). Its always the same problem, it stops trying to draw water in to make coffee. I can't get my money back they just keep sending me replacement machines that work for about 3 months. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

  • @TheDurtyharry Hello TheDurtyharry, Questions for you. how did you contact the correct place to send it back? Where? did You pay for shipping and did you have a receipt? Mine is about 8 months old and acting up. TY, intheshed123

  • xxx

  • My B66 Ultimate rocks! lol

  • **From below: I had to cut a cable tie and pull 2 more screws to get that out. I blew into it and could see it was getting stuck. I only use mine on weekends, so i think the rubber gasket was drying out and getting stuck, and would release with a smack to the top or after a few cycles. So i put quite a bit of olive oil in this spring loaded valve and blew through it. I then put more olive oil in the line, put it all back together and ran about 8 cycles and all were perfect.

  • I had a problem like this. I had to run 2-3 cycles with no kcup and then it would work fine the rest of the day. So today i took it apart. On mine there are 2 screws at the top of the cover (above the kcup). I took those out and the top cover came off. I swore that there was a pinched rubber line or something. Well above the kcup where the metal pokes into the cup, there is a spring loaded valve.

  • Okay. I reallllllly want to buy this machine. I heard a lot of bad things like this problem. But I am sure the water needs to be past that fill line. Also, the top needs to be on with a good seal. I met with a Keurig rep. and she told me about doing this and descaling it evey so often.........

  • Thanks so much for telling us how to fix our machine. I was trying everything and this worked great. Than you

  • im going to be honest here

i used to answer for keurig customer service and this company is shady as fuck

in november of 2009 they knowingly put out a large number of thousands of faulty brewers without recall (thanks to a switch to chinese production) and gave us a Verbatim scripting to say when we were questioned on the issue. the scripting was a giant paragraph-long run-on sentence that did not answer the question and if we deviated from it we got fired

i quit. btw i dont even drink coffee

  • mine does the same thing too. I am going to descale mine and I noticed one post said to use vinegar to descale. Is this better than the powder descaler that you purchase in the stores???

  • Mine does the same thing. A good swift thunk on the top of the spout will fix it. I have to smack mine around every morning.

  • It's because the motor in the base is not priming.

1st make sure the seal at the bottom of the water tank flows when you push it up.

2nd fill the water tank almost full.

3rd switch off then on and lift the tank about an inch or Two and drop it into place.

4th descale using vinegar,,,, Hope this helps... It worked for me

  • mine dose the exact same thing.

  • Check out my video" Keurig Platinum Reset for the Not Ready Light" Jeff

  • Had the same problem. Clean the needle area at top with a paperclip. Slide it up the water feed line and next to the puncture needle and clear the blockage/build up and you will be good to go. There seems to be three different canals the feed the needle with water, so be sure to clean each one.

  • It's not able to create enough pressure to open the outlet valve. Might be a pressurization pump or an outlet valve problem.

  • This has happened to me a few times also but after about a minute all is good. Can't really advise you other than to call them. The only thing I can guess is that air might have gotten in the line, so try to keep the water level up.
