I attend a baptist church in New England of all places and never have I heard a spec of hatred towards anyone. I worked with a liberal and she was the one with such hatred in her towards conservatives.  Progessive doesn't mean to progress to a point where you do not need the Lord, but to progress to a state that you know you cannot proceed without Him. I will continue to pray for you that you will get a balanced opinion of what a true Christian is, not a stereotype.

I don't need to google, I lived through the welfare state. I remember people living in Chicago and having P.O. boxes in Wisconsin to collect welfare because it was so damn good. I remember going with my father to many of our neighbors who were on welfare, and saw them eating steak while sitting in brand new furniture. We kind of just laughed about it and voted Republican, like most of the country did. And things changed. I'll give Clinton and other moderates some credit for that too.
