He can do the Shining Wizard in so many different ways! Most definately better then Orton's RKO. I wonder how Mutoh came up with the name Shining Wizard.
Not the easiest move to pull off, first few times my positioning was off and I kicked a few guys right in the head/face, takes practice to get the timing and footwork right
I'm pretty sure this level of greatness is illegal in 63 countries, 24 commonwealths, 8 republics, 10 nations, and all 50 states due to the strong risk of minds being literally blown....
The bald spot on his hair, made him shave all of it off...honestly I don't blame him. Besides that Keiji Mutoh and his persona The Great Muta are awesome...he's a legend.
man, muta is so cool love his ring psychology and style of wrestling especially that almost in every one of his matches he has a whole new attire(as muta)
Should not be suprising. Majoirty of his move set (Dragon's) is taken from guys like Muta, Regal, Finlay, and more. You can also see Muta use the move on Sting in thier match from I think Starcade (it's on the WWE Starcade DVD)
Thx man. I remember The Great Muta from when I was a kid in WCW in the late 80's/early 90's feuding with Sting. He's gotta be in his late 40's early 50's now. Amazing how good he looks and well conditioned he seems to be as opposed to alot of other active wrestlers from that era/age group.
Curiosity, I dont recall him speaking much if at all back then. I dunno if it was because of his gimmick or due to a language barrier. Does he speak while performing as Mutoh?
he's turning 47 this year. he has changed his style to better suit his age and his knees, yet he still pulls out a moonsault. the man is indeed a wrestling genius as he and his peers calls himself.
as Muto, he is a normal person. from after match, interviews and some promotional stuff. even sometimes shout "motherf***er" while performing the shining wizard. and as MUTA, he rarely speaks. but all the times he spoke as MUTA, he speak english
That Wizard on the apron @ 2:40 is just one of the many many reasons Muta is one the most exciting and entertaining Japanese wrestlers ever... he can work any number of styles with ease, and provide enough spots to keep us American heathen fans excited :)
God. Muta we are Not worthy To watch This Tribute To You. Amazing How He Great he Is In The Ring. Cause Of Him we have one of the most lethal moves ever The Shining Wizard. A Move I Freak Out For When Hit
What amazes me is how well Mutoh is able to move in the ring, even at 46. He's even better than Sting, which is saying alot (granted Sting is 49, but we all know how well he works in the ring even at his age).
Its a shame that he doesn't get over to the States' as often. If only AJPW realized how much of a fanbase he has here.
Unfortunately American tv is inundated with the Cenas, Ortons, Miz's, and associated crap. I fondly remember WCW when Muta faced Arn Anderson. Those days are long gone now... shame.
The Shinning Wizard is an incredible move. It just goes along with the legend and the legacy erupting from The Great Muta.
How incredible it was, to see a 260 pounds man do a Moonsault night after night, and that easily...What about The Muta Lock, the Flash Elbow? Hell, I remember it all.
On one hand, you've got the 3 Musketeers of New Japan, and on the Other Hand, you've got Misawa, Kawada, Kobashi, Steve Williams, Taue in All Japan...F*ck, 90's Japanese Wrestling is absolute Gold.
You can't compare The Great Muta/Keiji Muto with Cena or Batista, just like you can't compare Puroresu, based on athletic capacities for most of it, and WWE's Sports Entertainment, based on appearance, charisma and chemistry.
And, I kinda laugh when I see some people saying that they hate watching MVP do it on WWE, whereas it's nothing but a tribute to his idol, which is very respectable.
MVP doing the Shining BLACK in tribute to CHono is really not that bad...i dont see the problem amongst fans..overall MVP's wwe moveset is actually based off a mix of Kawada and Chono, whom both are his idols..>
i also dont feel the hate for CM Punk and the Go2Sleep..as much as i dont like KENTA, Punk never claimed that the move was his innovation so there is no way to bring that much hate...at least he brought the move to the video games and gave something new to the casual fans

5 or 6 times in a tag match i forget who it was against but he started out the match as keji mid-match he runs to the back comes out as muta kick the crap out of everybody.Leting the mist unload.
