  • At 2:12, was that a DDT into an Arm-bar??? Awesome!

  • Is the difference between Muta/Mutoh a case of heel/face alignment or is there something else?

  • 武藤敬司 looks very cute after he ages.

  • I like this move

  • Song name?

  • 2:45 WTF! I never knew Muto used Cattle Mutilation before Danielson was even a wrestler o__o

  • @Wurzelknecht Because he's the GREAT MUTAH for a reason ;)

  • this is freaking awesome, and by the way "namco" has made him a tribute too, they gave "armorking" this moveset 1:1... also spiting poison :-D

  • 3:06 is Glimmering Warlock move I believe. From the front is called Shining Wizard. From opposite I think is called Glimmering Warlock.

  • @Ichaerus Are you for real? You NEVER heard of the enzui Shining Wizard?

  • @Ichaerus the Warlock is Arik Cannon's variation of the move. his is more of a step up enzuiguri though.

  • He can do the Shining Wizard in so many different ways! Most definately better then Orton's RKO. I wonder how Mutoh came up with the name Shining Wizard.

  • Still the best damn Mutoh/Muta tribute I've ever seen.

  • mutoh is real legend!!!!!!!

  • Mutoh Keiji is a Natural Born Master!

  • an inspiration to bald people everywhere ;)

  • as much as I respect Mutoh, he could really be a sloppy bastard in the ring at times....

  • Not the easiest move to pull off, first few times my positioning was off and I kicked a few guys right in the head/face, takes practice to get the timing and footwork right

  • やはり武藤にはほかのレスラーにはない、すごい魅力があります!!

  • Master!!!!!

  • One of the greatest to ever live.

  • 노래 좋다!! i like this songs~

  • I'm pretty sure this level of greatness is illegal in 63 countries, 24 commonwealths, 8 republics, 10 nations, and all 50 states due to the strong risk of minds being literally blown....

  • i luv 4:40!!

  • @YoSoySanto89 cattle MUTAlation?

  • 真熱血

  • whats the name of the theme at the beginning. the second one?

  • you will never see that in the wwe.

  • he has soooo much agility compared to wrestlers today. not as good as the lucha libre guys tho.

  • The bald spot on his hair, made him shave all of it off...honestly I don't blame him. Besides that Keiji Mutoh and his persona The Great Muta are awesome...he's a legend.

  • @ShaolinDynasty Dont forget Kokushi Muso also.

  • My favorite puro wrestler of all time!!!

  • nice video

  • he put on a little weight for his shining wizard-era look.

  • jesus no wonder keij mutoh has to have his knees drained every year.

  • 2:53-:55 - cattle mutilation

  • Is that Baldy guy the Great Muta?

  • sweet

  • he truely is great

  • He does that wizard with such perfection, It's almost awe-inspiring.

  • Thats cause he invented it.

  • I know, but It's constant perfection of the move, even when he uses his Original Wizard.

  • I'm really not a fan of his Original Shining Wizard I rather like the Enzugiri one.

  • Yeah, the warlock isn't bad but the Enzu-Wizard my favorite, they just don't ever see it coming.

  • man, muta is so cool love his ring psychology and style of wrestling especially that almost in every one of his matches he has a whole new attire(as muta)

  • Who was the guy he corkscrew elbowed at 2:09? nwo sting?

  • Brian Adams

  • ohhhhhh, wow, that's right. the post-kronic look. sad he died.

  • @TeslaDRay Crush/Brian Adams.

  • @princesstamika

i know, the author of vid already answered me, butthanks anyway.

  • who was the guy he shine-wizard' at 3:13?

  • TARU

  • saw Great Muta wrestle in January and he was siiiiick!

BTW where can I find that first song you played in the video? I know its called "Triumph" but what version is it?

  • @ 2:52 you see Mutoh doing the Cattle Mutilation on Masahiro Chono years before Brian Danielson even got into wrestling ! 1991 i believe

  • Should not be suprising. Majoirty of his move set (Dragon's) is taken from guys like Muta, Regal, Finlay, and more. You can also see Muta use the move on Sting in thier match from I think Starcade (it's on the WWE Starcade DVD)

  • The Originator of the Shining Wizard.

    The Wrestling Genius

    MUTOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH KEIIIIIIJJJJJJJJJJIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!

  • The Great Muta doesnt wear makeup or masks at all anymore?

  • he wrestles mostly as himself...his Great MUTA persona is merely a special attraction nowadays...

  • Thx man. I remember The Great Muta from when I was a kid in WCW in the late 80's/early 90's feuding with Sting. He's gotta be in his late 40's early 50's now. Amazing how good he looks and well conditioned he seems to be as opposed to alot of other active wrestlers from that era/age group.

Curiosity, I dont recall him speaking much if at all back then. I dunno if it was because of his gimmick or due to a language barrier. Does he speak while performing as Mutoh?

  • he's turning 47 this year. he has changed his style to better suit his age and his knees, yet he still pulls out a moonsault. the man is indeed a wrestling genius as he and his peers calls himself.

as Muto, he is a normal person. from after match, interviews and some promotional stuff. even sometimes shout "motherf***er" while performing the shining wizard. and as MUTA, he rarely speaks. but all the times he spoke as MUTA, he speak english

  • Cool, thx again.

Do you know of any existing shoot interviews with him anywhere online?

  • not that i know of other than purchasing them. theres bloodstained memoirs and that one shoot with Kaz Hayashi from eons ago

  • Its crazy how different he looks as Muta and as Mutoh

  • Just like King and Armor King from tekken series xD.

  • as much of a tekken fan as u are, but no.

  • ok wait... 3:43.

A top rope Shining Wizard with Bob Sapp holding the opponent up?

  • its nice to see where king and a.king got their moves from.

  • Mutoh Against UnderTaker Would Be EPIC!!!

The Shining Wizard Vs The TombStone PileDriver.

  • when looking at the way mutoh's changed his look over the years, you could call him japan's taker.

  • @StanKingston420 No.it wouldnt. Vince would have Muta JOB to Taker...end of story. A SAD END.

  • @TonyChase Indeed, look at how many times Vince has pushed a guy that wasnt WWE-made

  • @TonyChase

Yeah, but it wouldn't end there. After jobbing to Taker, he'd have Muta jobbing to midcarders until his contract was up.

  • All hail the King of the Shining Wizard

  • Mutoh. A true legend. Muta. A true legend's legendary alter-ego.

  • 40秒くらいから流れる曲なんていうんですか??

  • Trans Magic

  • My favorite wrestler of all time & my favorite move of all time the shining wizard.

  • Muto is a freaking legend!!!

  • 2:54 Cattle Mutilation??WTF???

Anyways, Mutoh is a real legend, easily one of the greatests of all time

  • some guys say he get old and is bad.

That is bullshit,he better with his age as some young wrestler !!!

  • In a way shawn Michaels is like that, and so is Liger, as he got older he put on more weight and changed his style

  • Yes you absolut right !

  • Undertaker has also changed his style, though in a different way. And all those men are, as a result, legends.

  • his style changed, but I too think he's become better...he may be a bit slower, and not fly so much...but Mutoh is the greatest!!

  • and he can still pull a frankensteiner (standing and top rope) like a madman

  • That Wizard on the apron @ 2:40 is just one of the many many reasons Muta is one the most exciting and entertaining Japanese wrestlers ever... he can work any number of styles with ease, and provide enough spots to keep us American heathen fans excited :)

  • I would like to see a match between Muto and Kobashi.

  • he's so safe. that shining wizard barely grazes the head and still looks good & those moonsaults are all knees.

  • whats the match at 3:42 when mutoh does the shining wizard off the top rope.

  • What's the music played at the begining before the N.W.O. Triumph Theme?

  • Hold Out.

  • BY WHOM?

  • A musician named Osamu Suzuki.

  • A man,who live for wrestling!! He is a god !

  • u're damn right! he is a true god of wrestling!

  • And a funny guy !!!

  • sweet vid! i love the great muta bits that come from out of nowhere.

    5/5

  • Awesome, Muta is one of the all-time greats. The Shining Wizard is a move that you can imitate, but never execute as great as he does.

  • Anybody know what these songs are?

  • 4:40 is hilarious.

  • :22 Muta Looks Like A Smaller Takeshi Morishima

  • God. Muta we are Not worthy To watch This Tribute To You. Amazing How He Great he Is In The Ring. Cause Of Him we have one of the most lethal moves ever The Shining Wizard. A Move I Freak Out For When Hit

  • Mutoh/Muta Is Simply One Of The Best Wrestlers That Has Ever Set Foot In That Squared Circle.

  • with all do respect i think The Great Muta is just as good if not better that Antonio Inoki ever was.

  • man a mutoh vs kobashi match would cause the Budokan arena to straight up explode ;O

  • and some people say ric flair is one of the greats... flair couldn't move like this even in his prime

  • What does that have to do with being a great wrestler?

  • It´s like comparing Rey Mysterio with ... the Undertaker! Two diffrent styles of wrestling!

Ric Flair is one of the greatest, just like Mutoh...

  • What amazes me is how well Mutoh is able to move in the ring, even at 46. He's even better than Sting, which is saying alot (granted Sting is 49, but we all know how well he works in the ring even at his age).

Its a shame that he doesn't get over to the States' as often. If only AJPW realized how much of a fanbase he has here.

  • The fanbase of how many people exactly? It's 2009, The Great Muta isn't relevant anywhere outside of Japan to a television audience.

  • Hater much?

  • Unfortunately American tv is inundated with the Cenas, Ortons, Miz's, and associated crap. I fondly remember WCW when Muta faced Arn Anderson. Those days are long gone now... shame.

  • Its sad that most wrestling fans dont even care about the quality of wrestling anymore.

  • @CrazyCircumstances thanks to vince and hogan

  • AMEN BROTHER!!!!!!!!

  • i love the way he executes the flashing elbow

  • I die laughing everytime he does it from it's sheer intensity. Kinda funny to see that the People's Elbow is just a slowed down version of it.

  • damn i wish ajpw and njpw and noah and all of the other jap promotions aired in tv in north america

  • Mutoh is the best wrestler ever, better than the Worst Wrestling Ever Actors

  • BTW:

The Shinning Wizard is an incredible move. It just goes along with the legend and the legacy erupting from The Great Muta.

How incredible it was, to see a 260 pounds man do a Moonsault night after night, and that easily...What about The Muta Lock, the Flash Elbow? Hell, I remember it all.

On one hand, you've got the 3 Musketeers of New Japan, and on the Other Hand, you've got Misawa, Kawada, Kobashi, Steve Williams, Taue in All Japan...F*ck, 90's Japanese Wrestling is absolute Gold.

  • then u should see my 3 musketeers and all japan 5 videos, if you havent already...

and stay tuned for 2009, a "legendary" video is in the works and will be released then

  • You can't compare The Great Muta/Keiji Muto with Cena or Batista, just like you can't compare Puroresu, based on athletic capacities for most of it, and WWE's Sports Entertainment, based on appearance, charisma and chemistry.

And, I kinda laugh when I see some people saying that they hate watching MVP do it on WWE, whereas it's nothing but a tribute to his idol, which is very respectable.

  • MVP doing the Shining BLACK in tribute to CHono is really not that bad...i dont see the problem amongst fans..overall MVP's wwe moveset is actually based off a mix of Kawada and Chono, whom both are his idols..>

i also dont feel the hate for CM Punk and the Go2Sleep..as much as i dont like KENTA, Punk never claimed that the move was his innovation so there is no way to bring that much hate...at least he brought the move to the video games and gave something new to the casual fans

  • why don't you like KENTA

  • I absolutely love that flailing elbow drop... and the Wizard on the apron @ 2:40 was just sick!!

  • AMAZING video man, nice job

Shining Wizard over these silly FU's and Batista Bombs....

  • I hate watching MVP use that move in WWE

  • actually MVP uses the Shining Black from Chono...whom he is a huge fan of along with Kawada (the boot in the corner)

  • Mutoh/Muta = GOD.

  • 100% agree

  • CATTLE MUTILATION @ 2:54?....oh snap.

  • Yeah thats usually the sound the neck makes when its put in that hold

  • I think I got this from a bryan danilson shoot interview but he got the idea from a Mutoh match.

  • Yo kennedys....are you the same deadkenndys from emureactor?....it's me, Huevo64. Sup.

  • Yup thats me

  • great vid, good tunes.

there are two or three great mutas.

  • only one real Muta...but there are two fake ones...one floating around in 2002 at New Japan...and one portrayed by Johnny Stamboli around 2005-06

  • Do you happen to have the match of Great Muta vs. Hulk Hogan? I wanna watch that.

  • You'd think folks would have the brains to NOT throw a kick of any kind toward his way. He lives for the destruction of knees and legs.

  • Awesome vid

  • true innovator of the moonsault and shining wizard, Great Muta/ Keiji Mutoh

  • Is it true that sometimes Mutoh would enter a battle royale, get beaten in it, and then return later in the same match as Great Muta?

  • My Favorite Wrestler Not Mutoh

    It is Great Muta!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I Like Muta

  • the Incredible Muta

  • im so glad that he never went so low that joined wwe. it would ruin everything.

  • well, he went real low in goin into WCW in 2000 jobbed to Ernest Miller

  • well. i can forgive him that :D

  • You mean all those shitty AJPW Triple Crown matches from 2001 & 2002 weren't low enough?

  • yeah, as good as muto/muta can be, he's had some stinkers.

  • As bad as he's ever been is much better than Hulk Hogan's best day. I can live with that, even if Muta's peers regularly out perform him.

    You just can't buy charisma.

  • Mutoh= Wrestling God.

And I must say, my favorite theme is his nWo Triumph one. It's always blasting on my MP3 player.

  • great video !!

    awesome wrestler!!!!

  • does any one knoe the what song this is please?

  • last paragraph in the description!!

  • as some one who has met him in persone his wrestling is better than any wwe or tna stuff

  • Easily one of the best wrestlers ever.

  • wrestling is the shit

couldnt agree more that japanese wrstling is

    super hype

i am a current wrestler in training.

in 3-4 years i b traveling to japan hopefully.

o n those who says its fake well it's not rlly fake.

wrestlers bust their arses and get pay less than a athlete would. i dont get y? but we do.

just bcause wrstling is stagd dosnt mean that it fake. just try me and lets see if u will say its fake in my face. nothng against other sports. i do love it all the same. just keep an open mind.

  • That's a very awesome thing to do. Going to Japan to wrestle. I would recommend to go some indys too. But Don't Go to WWE it's just a pain over there.

  • damn, I give you props, bro. #1 for doing what so many of us would love to do, being a wrestler, and #2, aspiring to go to Japan. I think that's seasoning that should be encouraged in today's business. without the territories of the 60's-80's and PURORESU, pro wrestling would not be around today. much respect, dude!

  • No body has got the snap that mutoh has got

what a incredible wrestler and a true poinerer

in ring psycology and the shining wizard and making NJPW what it is today

  • more like AJPW now when it comes to the Shining wizard

  • as mutoh says

    pro wrestling love

  • couldn't have said it better, bro. the "snap" he has with the standing huracanranas, the dropkicks out of the dodge rolls, the amount of spring in his legs after all these years is really amazing. talk about giving all you have to this sport, and I give him all my respect. GO MUTO!!!

  • and to think he can still pull some moves off with that fucked up knees of his

  • that's what makes it even more impressive. nice vid, dude!

  • what is the great muta's song???

  • wrestlin is so shit. damn. watch some real fights instead of this fakeness

  • well if u dont like it...why are u trolling this video...theres nothing wrong with people liking stuff like this...so do u like watching real people blowing your house up or rather watch an action movie...if u have your own interests, thats fine...but like i said, if u dont like it..why are u trolling!

  • you can't compair your house being blown up against watching 2 different vids. cmon. talk some sense. and i have nothing against people who watch wrestling. i used to watch it myself! im just sayin, you might find the real deal a bit more entertaining knowing that its real

  • heres the thing...there are some people that find wrestling more entertaining than the real thing..coz its more show...like me, i like it coz its an entertaining show...at least, the Japanese makes things at least more realistic rather than the soap opera that is mainstream American wrestling

  • fair enough. enjoy your wrestling. everyone to their own

  • Real deal? As in UFC?

I find it incredibly boring once they lay down and start dry humping.

  • Kyo, what year did Mutoh invent the shining wizard?

  • 2001

  • The exact date the Shining Wizard was born: March 18, 2001.

  • my favorite Muto moment was with that tag match he hits the shining wizard on one guy, his partner trys to get in, and gets a face full of Keiji's knee.

  • How Many times have muta Pulled out a Asian mist in one match?

  • 5 or 6 times in a tag match i forget who it was against but he started out the match as keji mid-match he runs to the back comes out as muta kick the crap out of everybody.Leting the mist unload.

  • was it that tag match..where he teamed with Chono and fought Tenryu and Choshu...
