tkd isn't made for street fighting like kajukenbo. unless a striker like a tkd fighter is faster, a grappler or street fighter like a kajukenbo fighter has a better chance surviving a fight. also, hopping while you kick or strike, like in tkd styles, is not going to help you. if anything, it's going to count against you. you are more likely going to lose contact with the ground and fall if the person with the street fighting style makes contact on his/her opponent with a faster kick or punch.
I have done northern shaolin, kajekenbo tum pai and TKD. Nothing stands close to kajekenbo from what I see. TKD is commercialized and run by mcDojo's. they are more geared towards tournys while kaje is straight based.
hi guys i'm a brown sash in ka-ju-shin-tung-kung-fu and in order to get to our form ka-ju-kembo you DO USE MATTS and it takes mastering 4 other styles before even learing that system
I don't really see how anyone could say that TKd is better than kajukenbo. ultrauband is right, TKd is just about scoring points. it's bassicaly just about showing off
I'm a kajukenbo practitioner and IT WAS created for the streets. I also live here in Hawaii where it originated from. Lots of street fights happen here. TKD dudes would get killed by kajukenbo fighters. Period.
Kajukenbo is a martial arts that is based on your defending yourself on the streets, while Taekwondo focuses on point scoring, Kajukenbo will definately work better, just poke the tkd user in the eye in close range and then kick his balls and there you have it, a man in the hospital with a cast for his dick. I'm a tkd user too... lol, but i feel that kajukenbo is better.
hah TKD is better then Kajukenbo... i find that hard to believe.... id love to see you get into a street fight with one of us.... dude youd get worked....
your both screwed in todays world because being any MMA fighter would screw you both over. TKD easy just close the distance on the wheel house and Kajukenbo easy as well if your getting your ass kicked on the feet take him to the ground and break some limbs with arm bars, knee bars, kimuras, and then finish them off with a choke =D
Well if you knew anything about martial arts you would know that Kajukenbo is a mixed martial art, one of the originals. Karate, JuJitsu, Kenpo, Boxing.
Dood, Kevin, you gotta practice on the kicking, htat guy kicked both your asses without even breaking a sweat! Oh, and plys,TKD is sitll better than this! Did i mention that i was also a higher level belt than u in tkd? well anyways, work on the kicks. Ill leave it to you to guess who I am.
Because real fights and attacks don't happen on mats.

#1 thing i was taught...LINE UP YOUR OPPONENTS! and keep them that way. You can't have them coming at you from both sides.
