Horror - I get what your saying, but I think your giving the writers too much credit. I think Carrie's personality change is consistent with what happens on many shows, the characters eventually become caricatures of what they originally were. Carrie always had an edge, even in the first season, but as time went on, her "edgy" personality completely took over, and by the end, she was just plain mean. She became a caricature.
