He's an amazing puffer! but u should consider adjusting ur tank a little. He's actually a green spotted puffer, not a dwarf puffer so he has to have brackish water in order to survive. If u cant provide that then u should return it and get a figure 8 puffer. I kept those in complete freshwater without problem.
@ruckaisawesome ok.. yes l was told that i have to add 1 spoon of aquariu salt for each 5 gallons of water... and you are absolutely right, it´s a green spotted puffer... tnx for the advice!
Im guessing u got it from petsmart or petco? Don't listen from them. no, aquarium salt is useless.. only use marine salt such as Instant Ocean. Also, acclimate in several days.. dont make it completely brackish the first day. Good luck on the puffer:)

it can be, but it should do fine in fresh. Mine lived for several years before a heater accident killed it..
