  • This sound is more like a whale.

  • Comic Sans

  • I have more wheezing in inhalation than exhalation, what is that mean? My throat kinda closes and I have cough even when I laugh.

  • That's one hardcore wheeze. I thought I had it bad

  • Sounds like people sleeping to me

  • @InThreeDimensions you could have asthma

  • I get breathing like this most nights. In the day I'm fine but when I lie down for bed I start wheezing. I got checked and it's not sleep apnea which I originally thought. Anybody have any ideas?

  • @itsstephiduhh give him a neb

  • theskat3rfreak if so that means that maybe you have astma

  • Good lord this is a horrible sounding one. Thanks for the upload!

  • Hey doc, isn't wheezing is the symptom and rhonci is the sign from auscultating lung?

  • @yeksen Not necessarily. Most of the times, wheezes can be very loud (specially in chronic asthma) and easily heard. In this case, the patient can tell you about them; that's a symptom.

When YOU (as the doctor) hear the wheezing through physical exam, it is a sign.

The only difference is that wheezing (or any other thing) is a symptom if the patient tells you; it is a sign if you find it. Some times a symptom can also be a sign, such as this case; or not, eg. pain (only the patient can tell you)

  • ooooooo i have astma

  • is sound is so helpful in my assessment.tnx!

  • This is fantastic. Helps a lot showing patients who don't know what wheezing is (or who think they do).

Many times one gets confused because someone tells you they "wheeze" often and you diagnose them with asthma.

When I've played sounds to patients, many look horrified and then clarify: "Oh no, not like that!"

  • this a good example of wheezing in the "perfect wheezer." But it can be harder to hear wheezing if someone's chest is too thigh. specially in pediatric patients sometimes they need to be nebulized with Albuterol or Xopene so u can hear these sounds more clearly. over all great example

  • I Dont Fuckin Hear Nothing And I Have Asthma!!
