The girl is the daughter of one of Stephen's old friends. He died in a car crash leaving the girl all alone, as her mother also died a few years before. This was on the show, but it was his way of consoling her. I know it looks that way, but he isn't actually kissing her on the lips either; he's kissing right beside them.

@luckyDancer100 He is, on the cheek. It's not on her lips, it's just really close to them. Plus he was married when this was filmed. I think his wife, Evelyn McGee-Colbert, would be prrrrreeeetttty angry with him. :3
