Take the Yahoo's CEO, that makes 248 Million dollars a year. The average american income is 46k. So do you think that Yahoo's CEO works 5391 times harder than the average american worker? A socialist believes in; a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole. Spreading wealth is a bad thing. I will not be taxed higher because I make more and stoop down to a lower level. Our government taxes prosperity and bails-out failure. The reason for these health care costs is because in our system of insurance, we want everything paid for. Including medication, check ups, etc. A check up in car insurance terms is like a tuen up lets say. We don't do that with auto insurance so why do it to health insurace? Since corporations get greedy, higher prices result.

My country, Norway has a pretty high income tax. An average income is taxed ~36%, then the tax increases with your income until it stops at ~50%. Yet an person here has more money to spend, than an average American. Why do you think that is?
