The purpose was to link the ball out to the crash dive and get the half twist out of the ball out, again the first skill may suffer, but in this case the crash dive was straight not arched, it was a little under rotated which is understandable and expected when linking new skills.
Arching the crash dive shows poor form (even though it can look impressive) as it should be straight. The technical name for the skill is 3/4 forward somersault straight. Thanks for your comments.

I love how they had to take out all of the scary words like "crash dive" and "drop" and replace them with "3/4 front" and "landing" :')
