Fasting ramazan is one of Islam Pillars, but this arbaeen is not one of the Islam Pillars, or compulsory by the Quraan, or even done by the Prophet of Islam. Our Islam is perfect and completed, so we don't need to borrow any strange tradition.

@aldosany The prophet wept for the death of imam hussain and related this to his companions. this is recorded in sunni books. He game his wife Umm Salama earth and told her when ever this earth turns to blood you will know my hussain is martyred.

@aldosany we do weap for Ali as he was also martyred, we also weap for the other imams, the reason why we dont have a large procession for every imam is clear. they were not all massacred with their companions and their children and their brothers, and then their wives and sons and daughters taken captive!

Did the prophet of Islam (saw) cry every year on Hamzah (ra) who was brutally killed? our prophet teaches us to make DAUA for our beloved people who passed away NOT to cry and ask for revenge from people who died more than a thousand years ago. Was at the march from start to finish and mashallah it was an amazing experience. Hopefully I shall make it a yearly trip. Also tried out the Arab 'zanjeer' with the chains, it was an amazing experience and the voice of the reciters, such as Mulla Ali Fadhil, pulled everything together.
