In The Driver's Seat of the 2008 Mazda 5

We have an '08 we had three strikes against it in the first 6 months. 1. The rear hatch strut failed. 2. The passenger side sliding door came off it's rails and 3. The power steering pump failed while exiting the highway at speed.

BUT 3 years later and we love our mini-cargo van. It holds our 2 kids and our dog for the cottage weekends and is not too cumbersome for crowded parking lots.

One issue though.. The paint will scratch if you stare too hard at it. It also dents easy when doors hit it

does the mazda 5 have a tv screen in the back/rear? does the 2010 mazda 5? thanks.

Nice car and package but the powertrain really holds it back. the 5-speed auto is slow to downshift and the engine struggles to keep it running. Drinks a lot of gas too. The stock stereo stinks.

Solid and spacious otherwise. Give it a proper powertrain, a little better suspension tuning and you'll have something there, unique in the US market.

The 2008 Mazda5 has a 5 Speed automatic, not a 4 speed automatic. The 2006-2007 had the 4 speed auto. Also power doors aren't available in the US.
