It's good to see these guys have good taste, but they just aren't that good. The Band's version, either on Rock of Ages or The Last Waltz, is much better. Also, I hate their version of Hard to Handle.  The Otis version is infinitely better.

it's a cover song of a cover song. Originally by Marvin Gaye, then rocked by The Band (and others). If you're not familiar with The Band, do yourself a favor and check them out.
