Would love to see this ending, I love this movie and have watched it so much I can almost recite it but I never get bored of it. The only thing I have to say for the apparent "remake" in the works is that I hope it either a.) takes a serious approach so as to not be compared comedically or b.) is such a great movie that even as a comedy it surpasses this classic.
There were originally to be eight endings. An ending in which one guest killed all the victims, the ending in which every guest killed one victim, and the one where Wadsworth commits all six murders.
This was idea was abandoned, since it would make the total running length two and a half hours, and was changed to four endings, the one where Miss Scarlet is the murderer, the one where Mrs. Peacock is the murderer, and the one where everyone did, plus this one.
@maxman1602 i dunno if you're right or not, but you're wrong about the reason it was abandoned, because when it originally released there was only one ending used per showing. different theaters showed it with different endings, and some gave all 3 with the option to choose which version you wanted.
The fourth ending was shot and is sitting in a warehouse. I can't describe how much I want a special edition DVD with the fourth ending instead of the same disc constantly re-released with different packaging.
Do you have the single photo? I can't find the novelization, and I would love to see the lost 4th ending... maybe as a special feature with the 2011 remake DVD??
