@sp001in Actually, you are wrong. In 2003, Nissan released the Skyline 350GT (in USA, it's Inifiniti G35). In 2007, Nissan released the GTR. The president of nissan stated in 2003 that the skyline name would be located with nissan's luxury line while the GTR name would stay with the racing aspect. The first Skyline GTR came out in 1969 as the Skyline 2000 GTR and the last in 2002 as the Skyline R34 GTR Nismo Z tune. It was seperated after that. New GTR is NOT a skyline at all.
GT-R is not a skyline because it was built on a completely different chassis from the current range of Skylines, unlike previous GT-R's that were the highest trim level available for a skyline the R35 is a completely new model.

the lambos and ferraris etc will do this more consistently than a worked v6 which will need more regular servicing.
plus its like wearing a rolex, a $2 watch will still tell the time, but a rolex will do it with way more class.

@sp001in Actually, you are wrong. In 2003, Nissan released the Skyline 350GT (in USA, it's Inifiniti G35). In 2007, Nissan released the GTR. The president of nissan stated in 2003 that the skyline name would be located with nissan's luxury line while the GTR name would stay with the racing aspect. The first Skyline GTR came out in 1969 as the Skyline 2000 GTR and the last in 2002 as the Skyline R34 GTR Nismo Z tune. It was seperated after that. New GTR is NOT a skyline at all.

GT-R is not a skyline because it was built on a completely different chassis from the current range of Skylines, unlike previous GT-R's that were the highest trim level available for a skyline the R35 is a completely new model.

theres really a big gap here. also, 'badass mofos' is a matter of opinion, i live in cali where lambos are EVERYWHERE, the people who drive them are normally fat balding men and they're known here as 'goon cars'. people who drive them are jokes in the autoworld, unless you drive the supersport models.

@fmjscope any car can be tuned to take corners,you cant take a hemi and just throw it in the car,you gotta tune and rebuild everything from the radiator to the differential,and if we're talking on regular roads,odds are if youre illegally racing period its gonna be a drag race,which is mucscle car territory,if we're talking rally racing,thats why american teams have taken the win at le mans more than asian ?talk about a test of endurance and "taking your "yacht" sideways.

with twin turbo....you could beat any cars....espicially with big engine + all wheel drive like this r35...630cc each cylinder....n it would produce a lot of torque...this lambo gallardo also got all wheel drive but has no turbos + each cylinder 540cc is not big like gtr r35...other than that gtr also well balanced that could give better response...that's all i know bout their engines...^^

@DNBjay93 Another reason why it cost so little, offers very little luxury. Some people might enjoy that, but I personally like sport cars which also can be driven on a regulair bases, or just cruising around.

@DNBjay93 That's just taste. I think the skyline looks pretty bad. And bodywork will not fix that. Next to that, quality and reliability will be miles away from the lambo. Ofcourse it's gonna be cheaper, cuz you will get less. The Germans can also make a powerfull engine, upgrade it to hell, put it on a lightweight car with aerodynamics and it will be fast. They just chose to make it alot more reliable and safe.

@GTOSpecFD umm..yeah..actually just to clear things up for you, the name Skyline was dropped from the GTR because the G35 (U.S. version) IS the skyline in Japan, which is a totally different car than the new GTR. Now, the R-32,R-33 and so forth, refers to the chassis being used for the car, and the last one built on those chassis was the R-34 because the new GTR is built on a hybrid unibody..eventhough people called it the R-35, officially, it is not.

@101thatguy101 skylines are GT-R. Go look at any skyline, it will have a GT-R logo on it. When brought to America Nissan dropped the skyline name. Working for Nissan training center I never got a clear answer other than "skyline had a bad reputation." The reason the car isn't built out of carbon fiber is cost simply. @treflipper325 not all skylines were GTR. GTR was the top of the line Skyline with AWD and turbo. the base skylines from R32~34 were RWD. the new R35 GTR is a car of its own. it's no longer related to Skyline. the current model Skyline is a Infiniti G37. Read up on Nissan Skyline on wikipedia.

R35 GTRS are not reffered to as skylines by nissan from a marketing perspective but in everyother perspective they are called r35 gtr skyline hence the stove top tail lights and design of the front bumper

@GrandpaChink your wrong... Nissan themselves has announced that the "Skyline" series has come to an end. The GTR (Gran Turismo Racer) is not a series but a new generation model. Yes the new GTR is considered the GTR35 but it is NOT part of the Skyline series.
