Wait a minute. Doesn't Art of Life have more than two guitar parts overlapping in most guitar "solo" places? I know they harmonize a lot, and one part will come in before another is done.

If its the case that a recording has to be played anyway, how could they not pick hide's, even if it was the most flashy? Maybe they modified it for live performance before, but now, I like the thought of the three of them playing together.

@StarlightDreamer12 they are actually playing the radio edit version, it's the part they play when they don't do the whole song. It's the 5 last minutes of the song. Matter of live time that's all :d

@TheKATofficial Right. I didn't think they would have played the whole song on a tour in North America. I was talking about the issue of using a pre-recorded track of hide's guitar part. People were saying they did that on this song. I was pointing out that there are places where there are more than two guitar parts playing at the same time, even in that section, so it might be that some recorded track has to be used. And if I were them, I would pick hide's.

I tend to agree about the hide thing... everyone who's a fan knows how special he was, and having his guitar onstage (and introducing him, etc) is enough.. if X Japan really wants to conquer America, they're going to have to cut back on the pre-recorded tapes... it's one thing to have a drum track during a piano song, and that kind of thing might be Ok for Britney, etc, but rock fans are going to be highly suspicious. I think Hide would understand if they let the living members play the music.

@rvli I'm sorry, I meant that sugizo isn't able to play that way NOW. in the future, after a little training he'll be able to play this song. And I agree that Yoshiki is overreacting a bit. I changed opinion a bit over the past month ;-)

@pachiakun Sugizo won't be able to make it sound the way hide did. He's a great guitarist, but this kind of music isn't actually his style.

A band should have alive members. The main instrument of a rock song is the lead guitar. If the lead guitar is a playback, the band can't be serious.
