She had a 1month show in waikoloa (on the Big Island) and I was 1 of her dancers during that time. I brought my parents on her last show and she sang this song for my Dad cause it was his favorite song. I love and miss you Aunty Loyal.....
We just returned from our trip to Honolulu. During our visit we met Tom Moffat and we spoke of Loyal and this beautiful song. Tom produced several of Loyals albums, she is remembered with love, a beautiful lady and great talent.
We were honored when she recorded our song Oh My Sweet Honolulu and miss her but her music lives on.
geez i had about 4 cds of her why cant i find any iin google please play her other goodie songs someone up load them lost all my cds in my dui lol o wells we shall meet again lol alohas
@cowboyfan6703 I didn't know Loyal's version was a remake until I found the original on here. But I agree with you... Loyal took this song and made it her own.
This is my Mom's Godmother, she is her name sake "Pi'ilani".. My Papa played with her when she used to play at the old canoe house, and did her 1st 2 recordings.. They were a group when my Mom was born in 1976. My Mom as a baby sat on her piano when she did commercials for Cutter Ford... I know this because my Mom tells me all the stories about her and my Papa. He passed away in 99' and she sang this song at his funeral, this was my Papa's favorite song from that album.
Loyal is beautiful. A very talented lady. Is she still alive & singing ? This is the first time I've heard her voice. I've been looking for this song for quite awhile. I thought Gene Vincent sang it. I guess I'm wrong. Have a very blessed week.
My dad had me listen to aunty Loyal sing this song. When he passed 5 years ago I played it for him. It hits home cuz my dad was leagally blind,, we have RP a genetic eye disorder that causes you tunnel vision and deteriation of your sight. when we think of him I know he can see without any complications. I love this song.
I remember watching and listening to Auntie Loyal performing this at the Prep Bowl between Saint Louis and Radford. It was so silent and tearful in the stands, even at that young age, many of my friends and I knew the significance of the song.
This song really hits me because I have a son in high school that plays football, (it's his first time playing) I now truly feel this song, cause on game days, I am wrking and I can't see any of my boys game....thank goodness I brought the season's DVD. So technically I don't miss his games
I remember this song being decicated to a coach or teacher of Radford Highschool back in the early 80's. I was living in Waipahu at the time. One time Loyal came to our Highschool (Waipahu High) and gave us a concert right there in the gymnasium.
Rest In Peace Loyal...
