i had the same problem, there was nothin wrong wit ur ds-x at all. i think its wen u download a bad file then u get dat problem. and if u put it on the computer it gives an I/O divice error. wat i do is download the ds-x updater, and skinapps. wen u extract the rar file for skin apps, it gives all the necessary folders the ds-x has. so u format the ds-x, then extract the skinapps to the ds-x, last use the updater to update the ds-x so its a flashcard again.i found this out my self by the way.

ok i kno wat to do. download the "low level format tool" at: ds-xtra(dot)com, and on the left, type "hdd low level format tool", then click the first link. now follow the instuctions on the website. download and install it now unplug all unnessasary usb devices on the cpu and plug ur dsx in the computer. now run the program and click on ur dsx then click continue now click "low-level format" tab then click format. wen its done format it again like u would normaly.NOW do wat i sed 5months ago ^_^

no sorry !thid does not work! i downloaded low level format tool ,i installed it ,i plug in ds-x ,i oppened low level format tool and there wasn't ds xtreme!what im i doing wrong ?please help me

try unpluging all usb devices from the cpu then plug in the ds-x now u double click on the low level format tool and see if it finds it

when i plug in ds-x my pc tells me to install ds-x!

the whole pc isnt recognizing it. so plug it in and let it install. if it wont install try to conect the usb to the dsx then put it in the ds turn it on and hold a to see if in will come to the dsx loading screen. if it jus goes to ds main menu.. either way jus plug the other end of the dsx usb to the pc and see if it installs. now try low level format

WOW i never went this far befor, idk wat now. i think ur dsx is broken, try to return it for a new one. there is probably a way to fix it but im jus a 15yr old kid who plays smash bros brawl and has homework, i jus learnd this from experience.jus keep tryin the last thing i sed but maby in a different order it doesnt work the first time u do it. but if it still doesnt work, return it for a new one and srry i couldnt help

i had the exact problem..i didnt use my ds x for like 3 months untill i just felt like messing around with it...u should download the update.and try to update it .if not try going to the site it says it on the card

I had a problem with my ds-x exactly like this, however, i believe it's the casing. I put a small sliver of paper in between the cart and the inside of the ds. It then worked fine. Keep the sliver in and it'll work just fine. I know it's BS and crap that it requires the paper, but it's how it works.

Well mine didn't work until I "Safely Removed" it from my computer. You're not supposed to just take it of the USB cord. :)

But not on the DS :(
