Captain Commando and Mega Man absent from Marvel vs. Capcom 3 STILL. Fuck it, time to make Captain Commando and Mega Man vs. The Universe. It'd totally be better than anything ever.
Captain Commando is definitely a cool character, I guess the game designers in M\/C 3 just were too perverted and wanted to use a more modern version aka Crimson \/iper as his replacement.
Please tell me that's only assumption on everyone's part that Captain Commando has been replaced by Crimson Viper. That can't be right! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!!?!?!?!?!? How the hell can you replace an awesome kick ass, no nonsense BA and turn him into a fucking BIMBO?!?!?!?
CapCom wasn't included in MvC3 because he had helper characters; Ginzu (Sho!), Mack the Knife (Jenete!), and Baby Head (Hoover!). If CapCom were in MvC3, you wouldn't just have to load the models and textures for one characters, but for four.
Personally, I'd rather they retool his moves than exclude him entirely. The only reason Jill made it into the game is because they removed all the zombies and gave her a totally new fighting style.

@Jegudiel29ZX The general excuse is because of his moveset. A lot of them involve transforming something, which would need them to make a 3D model for nearly every move and they just can't be assed.
@ShunjianDaRhapsodos They replaced him with Crimson Viper because they have some similar moves. don't get me wrong i do like C.Viper but MVC3 should've been better off having Captain Commando in it.
@CaptainGinyu it's altogether possible they're putting in unlockable characters again and making him one of them. It isn't likely, but it's still possible.
@Procyonidae The only thing that makes them clearly similar is that they both pound the ground and they both use fire and electricity. Except now Viper has an optic blast. There's many other characters that pound the ground with fire or electricity and have the same abilities in the game. Doom pounds the ground with electricity, Dante with fire etc etc. Viper doesn't use electricity when she pounds the ground and it's also done differently.
Bottom line they're not the same they just have the same elements and pound the ground. They have one kick that is similar and an elbow drop. The rest they don't share.
@SilverSpark6 Because they wanted a SF4 rep(which makes sense considering it revived the franchise) and out of the four new characters she fitted the most.
@SilverSpark6 Juri wasn't even around when MVC3 was in development. She was in the process of being created and Capcom had no idea whether or not she would be popular enough to warrant her inclusion.
And like I said Viper fits the best of the 4 newcomers of SF4. She's fast, has superjump, and seems more MVC than SF4. And her and Abel had bigger roles than the other two.
And there's really no reason why both can't be in, like I told another person, they're not that similar.
@SHlNOBl3 You mean insanely epic characters. Many novice players of MvC complained that Captain Commando and Strider Hiryu were too strong. Well what can be done? They were far beyond everyone else on the epic scale. So in order for them to fit, all the epicness had to be retained, there was no other way you could put them in. Novice players cry too much, they need to gain some skills instead of complaining so much about high tier characters because every fighting game has them.

Why can't people learn how to play a fucking game instead of looking for cheap wins. There's like no honor when it comes to fighting games and it seriously pisses me off. Then it really pisses me off when trash chars get picked over real fan favorites. She-Hulk, X-23, Modok, Jill, and the unimpressive Wesker give me a break Capcom.
@ExeErdna Honestly how's that for irony? They should just play anime based games if they want cheap wins so badly. The only anime based game that takes skill to win in is Bleach Dark Souls. All that aside, I agree putting in She-Hulk and X-23 was utterly pointiless with Hulk and Wolverine there already. Those slots could have been used for Storm and Blade for the love of GOD!!!
@metaXzero I did and enjoyed every second of it. But still I have seen the trailers for She-Hulk and X-23 and still think those slots are wasted on them. Shoot if this was only about Marvel then I would be fine with them, but because of their back ground however, I say they should have gone with those who had diffirent powers to give the cast as much variety as possible. C.Viper is just a novice friendly huge breasts version of Captain Commando who only got in for 2 words...FAN SERIVICE!!!!!
Truth be told, their powers are mostly irrelevent to how their moveset will play out other then maybe deciding if they will have a long range game or not. Which not every character needs projectiles.
I don't personally see the whole "sex sells" reasoning for Viper. Their are better characters for sexual fanservice then Viper. I think it was just someone on the dev team had a personal pick..

They review every thing that's 'hot' and 'in the new', but they do horribly at it. Imagine an RPG player reviewing FPS games. That is the quality and accuracy of such reviews. Zero.

Captain Commando was an amazing beat em up, and as cool as the guy is, I'm glad Haggar made it into MvC3 to represent the arcade.
Would have preferred Cap to be in over Crimson Viper but oh well. Good reason to play MvC1 and 2 now and then. Or the arcade game itself.

Why can't people learn how to play a fucking game instead of looking for cheap wins. There's like no honor when it comes to fighting games and it seriously pisses me off. Then it really pisses me off when trash chars get picked over real fan favorites. She-Hulk, X-23, Modok, Jill, and the unimpressive Wesker give me a break Capcom.

@ExeErdna Honestly how's that for irony? They should just play anime based games if they want cheap wins so badly. The only anime based game that takes skill to win in is Bleach Dark Souls. All that aside, I agree putting in She-Hulk and X-23 was utterly pointiless with Hulk and Wolverine there already. Those slots could have been used for Storm and Blade for the love of GOD!!!

@metaXzero I did and enjoyed every second of it. But still I have seen the trailers for She-Hulk and X-23 and still think those slots are wasted on them. Shoot if this was only about Marvel then I would be fine with them, but because of their back ground however, I say they should have gone with those who had diffirent powers to give the cast as much variety as possible. C.Viper is just a novice friendly huge breasts version of Captain Commando who only got in for 2 words...FAN SERIVICE!!!!!

Truth be told, their powers are mostly irrelevent to how their moveset will play out other then maybe deciding if they will have a long range game or not. Which not every character needs projectiles.
I don't personally see the whole "sex sells" reasoning for Viper. Their are better characters for sexual fanservice then Viper. I think it was just someone on the dev team had a personal pick..

Game Informer? HAHA. I remember reading those when I was young. Getting a bit older, I start to realize that it's bull. They review every thing that's 'hot' and 'in the new', but they do horribly at it. Imagine an RPG player reviewing FPS games. That is the quality and accuracy of such reviews. Zero.
