@ThankYouSniper You need to push down on it and then line up the slots/openings on it with the slots on the inner part. Kind of hard to explain, but if you take a look at it you should see. If you need to remove the next part, then that is just a simple nut. Wrap a towel or something around it to avoid damaging it then grab a wrench and unscrew it.
@hansfausto No, that is way to hot. There are no stock guns on the market that can. A sp170 would require a heavily upgraded and reinforced gun to work in. The highest I would go on a CA M4 is an sp120 or equivalent. That is equal to about ~400fps. Anything more and you are risking very quick wear and damage, not to mention your motor probably could not even pull it.
Thanks dude, really helped! I was wondering if maybe could make a detailed video on how to disassemble the gearbox as well? Would be great if you could!
@johnnytheman888 Depends on the brand. Most plastic bodies like JG, Echo 1 Dboys etc are held by both pins. You can remove the on near the back and the top receiver will simply hinge on the first one, but you have to remove the one near the front to get it completely off.
Most metal bodies require you to only remove the pin near the front. The one in the back simply holds the gearbox more securely to the lower.
@Mrloco0117 Yes you can. Heck, you can get a really really "good" gun for right around $200 now. And for $300, you can get some of the best on the market. However, three years ago that wasn't always the case. There were only a few brands that were really "good" out of the box, all the others, like my CA needed to be upgraded before they could be considered good in my opinion.
i have a problem with mine King Arms m4 sr16 carbine. i got it one day ago and wanted to try it. When i started shooting it shot normal, but after 10 pellets it startet to roll out around 3 bbs at the same time out of the barrel. then i took another shot and a bb got stuck in the barrel. i shot on time and then everything stopped. i got the bb out, but now the rifle dont respond on anything? do you have a clew to me what i need to do to fix it? i used 0.23 bbs
how did u change the front shaft? just bought another one and put it on?
because u see, i think i have the same model as u, but mine has theese sheep plastic front shaft wich the battery lies in. and u cant mount anything on them :S
@bullmeatt Ya, I believe the new ones are supposed to be like the real steel M4's in that you press the mag release all the way and then twist the other long piece off.
This video help me big time when I had to change the wires on my gun. I also have to put a longer barrel and do other things to it. His gun had slight difference than mine but it helped. Thank you so much for the help.
@tboner2u $700 is a lot for a gun! Considering you can get an excellent gun for under $200 - Echo 1. And you can get a top of the line gun, besides Systema's, for around $400 - KWA and G&G.
$1200 for an airsoft gun is pretty much a waste unless it is a Systema, highly upgraded sniper rifle, or has real steel parts on it.
@gundown64 you also have to think about one thing i live in denmark and the prices are alot higher then alot of other places (sucks tbh) and i have got 3 rifles m15a4 classic army 120m/s 1200$ .. magpul m4 prob 120 m/s1600$ or more.... and a VSR g-spec that goes 210m/s it costs about 1500-1700$ all the weapons are fully upgraded
@tboner2u dude you could buy a stagarms AR-15 for 1025. 1200 on a airsoft gun is just a waste. Your gonna be 18, so why not get a gun liscense and shoot for real. I dont understand why you would do that. I mean 500 is about my limit. Thats where you can get to real guns and why waste money on metal toys.
@IKEELYOUNOW you can acctually get a half decent shotgun for around $250 or a 30-30 for around $380. somethings fun to mess with, i allways liked the 30-30 lever actions.
@IKEELYOUNOW but shooting real guns, and airsoft are so different it's kind of ridiculous you'd bring that up. Although fun, when you target shoot, you're just sitting there hitting paper. It may be more of a rush to feel the recoil, etc. but it isn't the same rush or fun as running around, shooting at moving targets, and getting shot at yourself. I mean $1200 is a lot to spend, but if this is your hobby, and you've been doing it for along time, it's understandable.
@NiiCK5TER have you ever shot dude, seriously you dont get the carnal delight of taking a Saiga 12 and ripping apart a treestump shooting people with an airsoft gun. AIrsoft is beastin and i love it, but 500 dollars(includes mods, accessories, sidearm etcetera) is all im willin to spend on airsoft. I mean ive seen some saiga models for 499 i would rather have one of them then a 500 dollar airsoft gun, wouldnt you agree?
@tboner2u, yeah, once you buy a good gun, like a ca m15a4cqb, new springs, 11.1 lypo, scope, crane stock, and all the other shit, its gonna cost allottttt
hola buenas noches disculpa me gustaria verlo pero con mas atencion ala iluminacion se ve muy oscuro y tambie quisiera que me esplicaras como colocar un R:I:S en el y que modelo deberia comprar de R.I.S gracias
what if my classic army m15 sportline trigger is like stuck on safe and if i move the selector swtich around the trigger is still stuck on safe? what does this mean is the tappet plate broken or watever?
There is a spring that keep the trigger in the right position. It sounds like that spring is in the wrong place, missing, etc. I don't know if you are good at opening up you gun, butt hat's what you need to do to fix it.
no i have not changed the gun in any way the gun just became stuck on safe and isnt moving i didnt install anything. the gun is stuck on safe so it can move like its on safe but if i move the selector to semi the trigger is still stuck on safe
Well, there are many other things that could effect the problem.. If you are not familiar with disassembling your gun, I would suggest taking it to AEX.
Well, there is a little plate on the opposite side of the selector switch with a screw. If that is loose, when you turn the selector switch, the plate wont move. You would need to tighten it. Not sure if that is what it is, but it sounds like it could be.
Well, there are many other things that could effect the problem.. If you are not familiar with disassembling your gun, I would suggest taking it to AEX.
The gearbox will hold up fine. The majority of version 2 gearboxes can take up to an M130. It depends on the brand but a CA can. If anything, its the gears and piston that would break or strip first, not the Gearbox.
Good questions. Yes, the motor does go in a certain way. The place were you put the red wire should be on the side were the trigger is. The piece were the black wire goes should be facing the stock of the gun. Im sure thats kind of confusing, I cant explain it well right now.
Yes, you have to remove the mag release to get to the mechbox.
There is an allen screw above the barrel in front of the top rail and were my scope is after you take of the top RIS. Remove that screw or two and then the barrel should slide forward.
Excellent, now one last question....where did you get it or what brand is it. Did it come with the battery....wow that`s a big battery....you must have upgraded the gearbox to cope with the extra power.......That`s not a carbine anymore, its a minigun .:-) My battery is a Firefox item.
The PEQ box is Classic Army, of course, and the battery is G&P. The Gun is shooting at around 380 so yes it is upgraded, but the mah doesnt make the gun any more powerful, just last longer, it's the voltage that does.
Great tutorial gundown64, thanks a lot. Could you do me one favour and tell me the internal dimensions of your battery box. I have an 11.5 volt 2200mAh battery and a ras/rail assembly. The new battery will no longer fit inside the fore grip so I need the battery box to house the battery. Its 105mm X 35MM X 22MM. will it fit in the box I wonder. TIA
Ya, sure. The dimensions are 134mm x 70mm x 25mm. That's as close as I could get o being correct. I have 9.6v 3300 mah in mine so I would imagine that yours would fit.
how is the metal on this gun? over all would you say it is a sturdy gun? cuz im trying to decide weather to get a classic army m4 or a ics m4... what would you recomend??
Classic Army has arguably the best externals of any airsoft gun out there. However, ICS is going to perform better right out of the box. If your willing to upgrade the CA soon, then get that, otherwise, get the ICS.
Thats a nice gun you got there man props. But I would go differently with the paintjob. Maybe a tan base then OD on top that would look so badass with the leaf stencils.
Yes, its mostly the same. The only difference is the Echo 1 has a two piece hop-up and it requires one extra step to get the gearbox out by removing the piece in front of the GB. If you need more help, feel free to PM me.
Could you post another video of the M15 RIS's gearbox and how to rewire it to the back for a crane stock. I am planning to buy a crane stock (I am displeased with the battery box).
Very easy. Remove the motor plate, disconnect the wires from motor. Take out the old motor and put in the new motor and connect wires. Put motor plate back on and your done. You may have to adjust the screw on the plate because its a new motor.
If I had some to try out I would. With the CA, you just pull the delta ring and pull off the bottom one. With the top one, you just remove the screw on top and pull it off.
Well, sometimes when you put the motor in the grip, it may be to far in the gearbox or to far out of it. In that case, you would turn the adjustment knob on the bottom of the motor plate. If you need further help, feel free to PM me.
Thank you so much. I scored a free Dboys metal body off of my friend, and this shows the perfect way to get it apart.
Now how to get the sh*tty paint job of...

DUDE!!! you're the man. I had no idea how to take off that safety switch. I can't believe how easy it is.
edwintresco 2 years ago
Yes, remove those two pins and the front sights will come off.
gundown64 2 years ago
Excellent, now one last question....where did you get it or what brand is it. Did it come with the battery....wow that`s a big battery....you must have upgraded the gearbox to cope with the extra power.......That`s not a carbine anymore, its a minigun .:-) My battery is a Firefox item.
Stewie4321 2 years ago
The PEQ box is Classic Army, of course, and the battery is G&P. The Gun is shooting at around 380 so yes it is upgraded, but the mah doesnt make the gun any more powerful, just last longer, it's the voltage that does.
gundown64 2 years ago
Thanks again mate, and great tutorial.
Stewie4321 2 years ago
Great tutorial gundown64, thanks a lot. Could you do me one favour and tell me the internal dimensions of your battery box. I have an 11.5 volt 2200mAh battery and a ras/rail assembly. The new battery will no longer fit inside the fore grip so I need the battery box to house the battery. Its 105mm X 35MM X 22MM. will it fit in the box I wonder. TIA
Stewie4321 2 years ago
Ya, sure. The dimensions are 134mm x 70mm x 25mm. That's as close as I could get o being correct. I have 9.6v 3300 mah in mine so I would imagine that yours would fit.

how is the metal on this gun? over all would you say it is a sturdy gun? cuz im trying to decide weather to get a classic army m4 or a ics m4... what would you recomend??
geraldbaumgardner 3 years ago
Classic Army has arguably the best externals of any airsoft gun out there. However, ICS is going to perform better right out of the box. If your willing to upgrade the CA soon, then get that, otherwise, get the ICS.
gundown64 3 years ago
ok thanks man.. yeah i was planning to get a lot of upgrades so i will probibly go with the CA

how do you remove the front sights from the m15? i recently got a new sight for mine and have no use for it anymore.
5aaron5 3 years ago
There are two pins under it. Grap something small like a nail or screwdriver and hit them out with a hammer.
gundown64 3 years ago
omg on 2:51 i would todaly use that for cqb
(lol no stock looks great on that gun)

when i get my gearbox out what position do i have to set my swith semi safe auto i broke my selector switch when i put my gearbox in the under part
PLZ answer me
gateilli 3 years ago
Well, safe is always the position you need to have your switch in. I'm not 100% sure what your trying to say, but I hope that helped.
gundown64 3 years ago
Thats a nice gun you got there man props. But I would go differently with the paintjob. Maybe a tan base then OD on top that would look so badass with the leaf stencils.

hey is this the same for a echo1. im sure you know the body comes apart different on one but same concept right
buriedagirl 3 years ago
Yes, its mostly the same. The only difference is the Echo 1 has a two piece hop-up and it requires one extra step to get the gearbox out by removing the piece in front of the GB. If you need more help, feel free to PM me.
gundown64 3 years ago
thanks that was helpful. but how do you put on a new spring? i dont want to disect my new ca m15 that far, i just wanna put a m120 spring on.
bunnyalex15 3 years ago
You have to open up the gearbox to put in a new spring.

Could you post another video of the M15 RIS's gearbox and how to rewire it to the back for a crane stock. I am planning to buy a crane stock (I am displeased with the battery box).

So how many steps would I need to take to install a new motor? If you need details, it is the Systema Long motor. If u DK, IDK, it's kool.
Killery96 3 years ago
Very easy. Remove the motor plate, disconnect the wires from motor. Take out the old motor and put in the new motor and connect wires. Put motor plate back on and your done. You may have to adjust the screw on the plate because its a new motor.
gundown64 3 years ago
Yo, Gundown, where did you buy this M4?
NirvanaLord 3 years ago
Hey can you make a vid on how to remove and put on ris? I will sub to you =)
panzerkilla 3 years ago
?Can you lol?
panzerkilla 3 years ago
If I had some to try out I would. With the CA, you just pull the delta ring and pull off the bottom one. With the top one, you just remove the screw on top and pull it off.
gundown64 3 years ago
Ok thanks dude =)

thank you, now I know how to take apart my airsoft m4 :) just hope I can get everything back together without an problems lol

This helped a bunch when we disassembled our KWA and G&G M4s.
WorldOneProductions 3 years ago
Hey if your replacing a gearbox does it need to be like tested so its in line with the motor or can you just pop it in and it will work.
paintbal 3 years ago
Well, sometimes when you put the motor in the grip, it may be to far in the gearbox or to far out of it. In that case, you would turn the adjustment knob on the bottom of the motor plate. If you need further help, feel free to PM me.
