  • If I was a terminally ill kid, my "Make A Wish Foundation" wish would be to go to every single Beastie concert until I keeled over dead.

  • This is the "Whole Lotta Love" of rap music.

  • Jammed WAY to many times to this chopped.

  • Never would have dreamed of the day where I saw LAME, LAME, ASS ads before this amazing old school vid! Oh well...

  • also this is fucking brilliant video. actual paintings. great idea, great execution.

  • some of the best inter-group live rapping.

  • Absolute timeless classic...just like the entire album. This one always gets the people on the floor.

The original unpainted version can be seen on the video (as in VHS) "Skills to pay the bills"...I have no idea if that's been re released.

  • love this video - mtv didn't and still don't play shit all - but don't worry now we see it all fuck you

  • this artwork is 100% badass

  • only 12 notes that a man can play

  • Where's the Original ??? This one is awesome , but the TRUE Original is Gigantic

  • @BrocktonRod you mean the slam version?? I have the Beastie Boys Anthology DVD and its in there. Look it up here on You Tube someone has it up I think

BTW if you dont have the DVD get it theres some sick camera change options on few of the vids

  • Every rhyme in this one is classic. Too bad there's no video for Car Thief, the only lyrically better song on Paul's Boutique in my opinion...

  • @dbird49 love car thief grow up in Dublin was our theme song for most of my teens

  • Shadrack, Meshack and Abendigo. Put 3 brothers in the fire and they dont burn. Cause they got the god connection. Its in the bible YO :O

  • No one is capable of making rhymes like these, with references like these, and samples like these.

  • Love how trippy the animation is.

  • Sheena is not cool, but Beastie's ARE.

  • So good...first Beastie track I ever heard...they reference fucking J D Salinger!

  • It was nice of them to write a song about me!

  • 6 people that voted thumbs down is totally stupid. vote here if u agree? (:>)

  • Shit...the boys been kickin it for ages!!!!!!!! I remember the first time I heard them was a song called "Cookiepuss" LOL

I will always love these dudes!

"MY MAN MCA'S GOTTA A BEARD LIKE A BILLY GOAT!" lol

  • I got more suits than Jacoby n Myers...classic line.

  • This is a nice tribute to Sly Stone, the second part of Sly's "Loose Booty" (which is sampled here) sounds like Hip Hop but before Hip Hop did even exist.

  • my boyfriend was named after this song:)

  • i miss hip hop

  • word

  • "Get even like Steven, like pulling a Rambo!"

  • my name is sha'drach :D

  • LSD TRIP!!!!!

  • I saw this at an animation festival of works by the Will Vinton studios (The Noid, the California Raisins, etc.), at a theater in Portland, OR, way back in 1989 or 1990.

There were a lot of "living paintings" in the show, but this one stood out.

  • Illin', in watercolour

  • this is by far the coolest music video ive ever seen

  • What a fucking tune

  • epic loose booty remix

  • I once actually met a man named Shadrach Meshach Abednego

  • @originaleptu I read a book that had a side-character named Shadrach.

  • @LoudTristero its from the bible "the three young men", something with King Nebuchadnezzer. shadrach meshach abednago

  • @duhhg80 Oh. Well I don't know about that, but I do know about the three mercenaries that were hired to stop a giant, evil moth: Shadrach, Tinsell and Pengefinchess.

  • just 3 mc's and we're on the go...

  • I don't know how many times I passed out drunk and high with paul's boutique in the head phones.

  • i have a dog named Abindigo

  • STILL ONE OF THE ILLEST VIDEOS...

  • wikid clip

  • This is one of the most amazing music videos I've ever seen. Must have taken such a long time to paint every single frame like that.

  • Beastie Boys DJ at this time was DJ Hurricane. He was the DJ in at least 2 of their albums. Licence To Ill and Paul's Boutique which this video is from. I think this is the only video with Hurricane DJ ing with the Beastie crew. That's what makes this video unique. Beastie Boys present DJ is the very talented DJ MixMaster Mike.

  • I'll give a vote to one of the best. I can put this on repeat a few times in a row.

  • @saltman4452 If I remember correctly from the dvd commentary for the BB video collection, they indeed had someone hand paint each frame, so somewhere all of those frames exist as paintings... indeed, fucking awesome. :)

  • awesome vid, awesome song

  • to think what i did2 myself bk in the day in the name of music..lol..great album..great times..Hell Yea!

  • yeah,,,Beastie Boys did it again,,,cool,,

  • yeah,,,Beastie Boys did it again,,,cool,,

  • Classic

    Bring back good memories

    Paul's boutique is a masterpiece

  • Such an under rated video and song.. do not listen to the beasties like I used to but this song brings back great memories of middle school and high school summers

  • so damn funky...

  • i agree, why dont these two get wach others #'s and continue this on the phone. supposed to leave comments about the band/video not your dick sizes and mother's asses. brings back memories of high school. any way. awesome song and kick ass vid.

  • Cant we all get along....?

  • you both are sperm dumpsters

  • Beastie Boys FTW

  • @MoonshineMethExpress ignorance is the shit "I got no knowledge, and I can't think, so I'll just make shit up and say it like it is fact"

  • @geoPhaze, Yo shit is so weak, like an old man takin a leak.

Yo shit don't even rhyme, you gonna starve cause you'll never make a dime.

Now go back to yo mama's and put on yo pajamas.

Now I'm done wit my rhyme, cause it's way past your bed time.

    BEOTCH!

  • wow..... you really strained your brain. congrats. good for you.

  • @geoPhaze, wow you're really creative, or was that from help from your mama, DUMBASS!

  • wow, stupid troll is stupid. have fun, being stupid.

  • @geoPhaze, wow, you must have a degree in linguistics, you are so articulate, your composition, style and expression are spellbinding, LOL!

    FUCK YOU!

  • so you are 14 hang out on 4chan, think your intelligent, and your dick is of unusual size. how typical.

  • So, you're 40 or claim to be anyway but can't spell or form a proper sentence!

I never claimed I was intelligent, that was a gross assumption on your part, probably caused by your inadequacy!

Yes my dick is huge, just ask your mother,

after taking my dick up her ass she now has a drawstring installed in her asshole so she won't shit her pants!

    GOT IT DOMBASS!

  • wow my mom is dead. thanks asshole. nah not really. your boring. have a nice life, being a bucket of used rancid douche.

    Sound sand, COCKSMOKER!!

  • keep drinkin the shine lay off the meth...

  • Timeless!

  • CooL

  • Coolest music video ever.

  • I love their shout out to the Clash at the end..

  • i just noticed this version samples car thief at the very end

  • r.i.p. J.D. Salinger

  • @BooksMusic ha! i'm glad i'm not the only one who cam to this song because of salinger.

    RIP JD

  • Did shadrach say abrock in this song?????

  • Used to rock this cassette in my freshman college dorm! Wow, time flies huh? Haven't heard this song in years but, incredibly, it sounds as dope as it did in '89.

  • sickest vid ever!

  • this is sampled from the sly and the family stone ! that is rose stone as the female vocalist ! this song is sick !

  • Paul's Boutique was never an underrated album. When it came out in '89 it was huge! I was a freshman in college and it was pretty much heard at every party I ever went to, plus I know we played it all the time. People who didn't notice it until '99 apparently weren't into music until '99.

  • This has to be one of the best rap songs, of all time.

  • couldnt agree more

  • yeah, or at least one of the most UNDERRATED awesome rap songs

  • My friend for the longest time thought the song went "Shadrach, Shadrach the goat"

  • apparently not a bible reader? Lol

  • best video ever!

  • This ETIRE Album, Paul's Boutique, is Underrated! But I luv most of the Songs On it. It's a REAL Classic if you ask Me. It came OUT in '89, but That's too BAD, cause NOone Noticed it 'till 10 years Later..

  • This is the Beasties most underrated video imo.

Back when music videos were an art form.

  • cool jewish buddhists who rap and reference charles dickins.

  • HA.. yeah just Yauch though

i think they make more references than any other group

  • xDANx24x: that is correct. Check their wiki page. And Adam played the bass on DFL's "Dead Fucking Last" album (among others) and was a member of The Young and the Useless (punk rock) before joining the Beasties.

  • I heard that in the beasties first days they were a hardcore band, anyone able to tell me if this true?

  • @xDANx24x

check some songs like egg raid on mojo and heart attack man

  • Yes!... they were hardcore at the tail end of the 70's when it was just coming up (i assume) you can still hear some of it on ill comm and other albumns where they (attempt to) rock out

  • @xDANx24x yes the beasties were a punk band with a girl drummer in the begining

  • love the song and the vid is 1 of the most creative ive seen beasties rock!!!!

  • i think! its only fiar that everyon take what they want from this song! I dont think theres amazingly created video! nice to know the boys can go deep1

  • sum of the best sampling i have ever heard

  • AMAZING VIDEO!

  • Nathaniel Hornblower's (Adam "MCA" Yauch's alter ego) directed video.

  • sippin on wine and mackin

  • This is the most underrated video of all time. I feel floaty every time i watch it.

  • These funky ass white boys KNOW how to bring it live!!

  • This is one of the dopest rap songs ever!

  • I AGREE COMPLETELY

  • I know a lot of you will disagree and call me names and stuff, but the only good rap out there is by the beastie boys

  • i disagree motherfudger!

  • I know. I've just never been one for rap and the beastie boys are a different kinda rap

  • This has always been one of my very favorites....man, I love the BBoys. Still. LOL!

  • best bible rap ever!

  • What ? Bible rap ? You are joking right stormRisingOriginal ?

  • Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego was a biblical story. My history teacher played this song in class once when he was discussing the story because it was referenced in a document we read. Best teacher ever :D

  • I did know that but good one for pointing it out to those that don't. That's one thing i love about the Beasties; figuring out the lyrics, you get one line or reference and that helps you suss out the rest. When i mentioned bible rap before i thought the guy was talkin' 'bout like religious rap (god rap/jesus rock/church metal) or something of that ilk ! I was wrong, the guy had a point, as do you my good man.

  • That's ok :D. Yeah, I agree with you not calling it "religious rap". It's more of a rap with a religious reference. That, and a completely awesome song. I love songs who's lyrics are more then ankle deep.

  • Right on brother ! You certainly had a good teacher if he was willing to play this track in class. Peace

  • The original version(this) is better than their remake. But it's okay BB, it's okay.I really love this.

  • Do you know if this version is available somewhere? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks!

  • art rap of the 3 Mc

  • So many things could have been added to Paul's Boutique as bonus tracks. For instance: this and the video version of "Shake Your Rump," the Japanese bonus tracks, the "Exciting Evening at Home" EP.

  • Paul's Boutique is a fucking masterpiece.

  • The animation is incredible! And great rap!

  • I'm one with the sound.

  • The "Sgt.Peppers" of Rap...that's it.

  • finally someone with a CLUE

  • I don't get blue. I got a mean red streak.

  • best music video of all time right here

  • Paul's Boutique was full of samples. All done in a very creative way. Unlike most of he new hip hop that just takes an old song and turns it to shit, these guys did it a very original fashion unlike anything that has ever been produced. That's probably why it is Rolling Stone's #186 best of all records ever made.

  • And it should be much, much higher than #186!

  • Music for all but not just one people!

  • favorite<3

  • Smoking and drinkin' on a Tuesday night!

  • But they used the samples better than the original artists.

  • well advanced for the time ... just always cool !!!

  • Loved this video since it premiered!

  • Say What The Popcorn !

  • This must have taken a while to make. Well done lol.

  • RIDDLE ME THIS MY BROTHA.love it

  • Awesome visuals worthy of the track.

  • 3 Hebrew rappers rapping about the 3 Hebrew boys from the book of Daniel with Sly Stone "Looose Booty" sampled as the backing track.

    Gotta love it. :)

  • Brilliant. Love it. Kicks ass.

    Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego

  • Would be no Eminem, Asher Roth, El-P, Kid Rock, and most of all no black rappers with a lot of bling & $ if it's wasn't for the Beasties. They are Jackie Robinsons of hip hop.

  • You are kind of racist! And stupid, and wrong.

  • Ouaow.. how do you do this video/drawing? a kind of software?

  • I think you just draw over real film frames...they've done it for decades. There's a movie called Waking Life that's completely done that way.

  • It has indeed been around for decades. Walt Disney was rotoscoping - as it's known - way back in the 1930s.

  • Nothing of this was filmed though, it is all original.

  • this beats Aha by a longshot

  • It does't get get any fucking better than this!!!!!

  • crazy ass video

  • Still one hell of a swinging track!

  • does anybody know if there is a video for egg man ..egg man egg man.............yo they just got my litle cousin........

  • OMFG this is the shit. Go Beasties!

  • Great song. Great album. Great era for hip-hop. Priceless!

  • This is the first time I've ever seen this video, and it's crazy.

  • Eminem will never be this good.

  • true, nor will he be as good as the guy who he blatantly copied his style from ....Masta Ace... Am i Right?

  • Indeed you are right.

  • yeahh this vid are fucking crazy XD

  • The kind of creative video and song hip-hop/rap is lacking in now.

  • True, I love computers and computer music, but it seems like most rappers don't work this hard anymore to be just plain good and on time.

  • You also have to blame the music companies that have clamped down on all the sampling. Without samples, I wouldn't have bother buying the originals they used, like Black Oak Arkansas' 'Hot & Nasty', the source of the drums in this track. They also use Sugar Hill Gang's Sugarhill Groove.

  • Mestres

  • espectacular!!!!
