John, Nice video. Do you set your truss any higher or leave it at that height? You really set me on the right path to a super light show. Thanks again
In your video you said that if you can't look at the laser without turning away it's too bright, so I was wondering there are alot of different lasers out there with alot of power levels. Generally what do you think is a good safe power level 4.5mW, or can I go a little more than that? Great video by the way.
I've got 4 Dynamo scans & 2 Acme Magic Gobos but i'm looking for a centrepiece. I'd also love an LED starball. I normally use a 3m truss system, so was thinking of mounting an LED starball on the joining tube and mounting some kind of LED effect under-neath.
What would you suggest? I've been looking at the REVO 3, but i'm not sure!
Man, Johnny boy, your light show is a constant inspiration to us to keep improving and keep thinking about what we offer to the customer. Top stuff as usual - I'm looking forward to getting together with ya at Vegas!
I never thought about having a light show within a light show using different lights at different times & the way your lights are set you can run different seens or show depending on your crowd & or music great tip some thing to ponder....
I have 2 VUE 1's, and 2 Electra's also. Got em cuz they were both inexpensive and effective. Where you have a REVO, I have a VUE III. That's were our light shows are similar.
I don't have any lasers, or haologen scanners or starballs. I do have 2 halogen derby lights, which I will use like you use your starballs. Eventually I'll get into the laser world. I'm thinking of getting 2-4 colorstrips also, and put them vertically on the light stands.
You are one of a few who does it properly...When I've been to Discos in the past, you see DJs with All the lights on at the same time...it looks a complete Mess!
If you can never use fog, you probably should not get lasers, as they really are a fog effect, you are NOT going to see the laser beam without any fog, just lines on the wall.
Very nice video man. So like, reckon youd be able to drive up your lights to Brisbane for me so I can do a 21st? Cheers man, Ill buy you a 6 pack for your trouble :D
What were the lazers on the sides. they had 2 lazers in one unit and they looked really cool. also how visable are they without smoke?
I think i'm guna take ur advice and i've had a look around at some lighting for my trus and i wana get 2 starballs because they look really nice. Are urs the DMX ones?
Also one or 2 KAM swingfires and hopefully when i can a lazser. think that would be a gd start and look pretty nice.
what song?

Hi John,
just a couple of questions
1. What type are your lasers ?
2. What type of switching unit do you use ?
Maxsdiscos 3 years ago
1. He uses Shinp Lasers the dual green is the DL-33 and the dual RGY is the DL-22+ most likely
2. he uses remote controled powerboards to switch his FX

Amazing light show, the best results are to have your lights symmetrical so you get an even show and it looks great...
