No, if you will look at the date you will know that this is the 1st Generation of the Aluminum macbooks. The ones with the SD card slots weren't even out yet.

if i were u, i would charge the macbook for a few hours first, then i will switch it on.

You can turn it on without charging it first. But, when you first charge it, make sure you charge it all the way. thats it
