Canister filter suck...when are you people going to learn about real filteration. The Bio load in there is way to high.

Fish are just after feed. So they are breathing quickly. They don't breath so quickly before feeding

Add more oxygen add a power head with a diffuser or add a eheim diffuser to your external filter!

Either low oxygen or too much ammonia which have burnt the gills so they have a hard time breathing. More water changes definitly in order. Maybe 2-3x what you're doing now.
