The rift between Russia and America is documented history. It's not much of a suprise that the director chose these two countries to tell this story. It could have been any two countries; It just so happens that the filmmakers chose the ones that they could show the audience with the most powerful effect. I think people are getting to wound up about politics and bashing others. Just enjoy that rockin film. :)

I guess a lot of people can't listen to the words I said. It seems like a lot of people are running down America. First of all, who are Americans? Every one of you have relatives that sailed or flew to this country to make us Americans.
You are old enough to know that people will hear what they WANT to hear. Believe what they WANT to believe etc. If I live in Canada under a repressive socialist regime, it is easier for me for example, to believe my problems are because of the USA and their greed. Most countries which enjoy some freedoms and higher standards of living realize how important America is to the free world.
The term "free world" is empty rethoric. Sure there are places better than others, but it doesn't mean that the better places are good enough. There are still too many things to do before we can describe any part of the world as "free".

First of all it was a satire. Second of all being believable is something that is only relatively important to filmmaking as most of Hitchcock films were not that believable to begin with yet were so well told people never question them. The whole atmosphere of the shortfil allows us to accept the fake show with the slightest thread of veracity in it just as it happens in Clint Eastwood movies(William Mooney shooting five armed man in Unforgiven)
Kulcat, film school much? As far as believable, I am not address the story, but rather the motivation of the character. ...i.e. and action within the story that fails, if you got to go there, you got story problems.
If I were making script notes, not working -a television show, broadcasting, with people signing up, in a place where there is a law against it. There being danger involved, is important to the conflict set up. Motivation of the character is in conflict with the set up of the society the he lives in. He, that it is a set up, a trap. You, as a director, want circumstances to be believable. I like it better than Jane Campion's student film. Okay work, keep at it.

The rift between Russia and America is documented history. It's not much of a suprise that the director chose these two countries to tell this story. It could have been any two countries; It just so happens that the filmmakers chose the ones that they could show the audience with the most powerful effect. I think people are getting to wound up about politics and bashing others. Just enjoy that rockin film. :)

I resent the fact that you call Canada a "nation of slaves". We are in fact only slightly more leftist than the USA- and our gov't is so much more responsible to the citizenry due to our ability to call elections whenever we choose.
Not to mention that democratic socialists or social democrats believe in a gov't controlled by the people, with the added benefit of caring for it's citizenry as a gov't ought to.

First of all it was a satire. Second of all being believable is something that is only relatively important to filmmaking as most of Hitchcock films were not that believable to begin with yet were so well told people never question them. The whole atmosphere of the shortfil allows us to accept the fake show with the slightest thread of veracity in it just as it happens in Clint Eastwood movies(William Mooney shooting five armed man in Unforgiven)

If I were making script notes, not working -a television show, broadcasting, with people signing up, in a place where there is a law against it. There being danger involved, is important to the conflict set up. Motivation of the character is in conflict with the set up of the society the he lives in. He, that it is a set up, a trap. You, as a director, want circumstances to be believable. I like it better than Jane Campion's student film. Okay work, keep at it.

will - Nobody stole the elections. In '00 Bush won the Electoral Vote, and the State of FL had a deadline to turn in their results, which they did. All states throw out certain votes which are suspect in some way. That year there were votes cast by those not on the voting lists. And don't forget the stupid people who incorrectly cast their votes, then didn't ask for new ballots. In '04 Bush won both the popular and Electoral votes.

And no, what some people think is voter fraud actually is not. People today have wildly varying (and wrong) ideas on what the law is and what constitutes voting rights & fraud and their civil rights. All from erroneous info from the Left. Some believe that if their boss tells them they can't print something in the company news letter, then that's censorship.

So you're saying that all of the systemic problems of our voting system helps only Republicans? Here's one for you: NYTimes editorial said the 04 vote was unfair because 1. Long lines at Ohio polls hurts only Democrats, and 2. Rainfall at polls hurts only Democrats. So to get a "fair" vote there should be a new vote.

Nobody votes against a sitting U.S. President during a time of war. It sends a signal of weakness to the enemy, when they realize that the country is not behind the war effort. That being said Bush won by less than a 1% margin. If the democrats had actually put a candidate in the race, they would have won!

As almost all Conservatives would tell you, I can totally disagree with him on his immigration and border polices, and would probably reply in the negative on a survey of his current performance, but would still suport him as the best person for the job. The two aren't mutually exclusive. That's why those survey's are not the whole picture.

I find it really hard to believe, knowing the geniuses that I know, that George Bush or for that matter John Kerry, Howard Dean, John Edwards, Bob Graham, Dick Gephardt, and even Joe Lieberman, who is a personal friend of mine, are the brightest guys in the country. Even more shocking is the fact that a guy, who did everything to avoid going to Vietnam and fighting for his country himself, has the balls to send young Americans to their deaths in an unwinnable war in Iraq.

George W. Bush served his country, as did his father. Clinton did not serve, neither did Reagan. Even one of our greatest Presidents of all, a war time President, F.D. Roosevelt did not serve. I don't even think Lincoln served.

No, George Bush was registered in the Texas Air National Guard at a time when most men without his family's clout were heading to Vietnam. Pussy. People who were supposed to be his superior officers from 1970-71 reported not actually meeting him. Other reports in 73 said he was too drunk to fly. A hero to me.

I have a feeling that since his father was a powerful man in the country while he was enrolled at Yale his class attendance record was probably about the same as his service attendance record.
