Every shred video is riddled with comments about the lack of "feeling". This leads me to the conclusion that a lot of people are unaware of what the term "shred" actually means. The title of this video is "Doug Steele Shredding", not "Doug Steele's Melodic Epiphany Solo". This guy fucking rips at what he does. There's no need to be jealous of any guitar player and there's certainly no need to bring them down accordingly like you're 12. Playing is an art and should be personal for everyone

I think alot of us take your guitar playing more seriously then you do because we have serously analyzed (what little there is of) it in the hopes that some of it will stick with us, same way you probably did with Gilbert back in the day. I can tell you have the right attitude. It doesnt matter how fast you play I can hear guys like trower, lynch, schenker and even( Ulrich roth?) in your playing. this is based on seeing lots of your videos. I find alot of your playing to be note sensitive and full of intelligent use of interval's. I play alot like that respectively. you slide around on that ibanez as good as Vai himself sometimes and that can't be taught, well done.
