This album is my favorite of all time I think. Ween is pure genius for sure. If I had to pick one album to listen to for eternity it would be this one!
Sorry to say this but Gener's relationship wos make my life about 75% better. This song and I dont want it can get me through just about any traumatic event and the Argus, Friends and the stallion pt. 3 can get me through all the other times!
The good thing about Ween is that you can get ANY one of your friends to listen to it and somehow they will like AT LEAST one song. It's in our genes.
Wow, quick response. But yes, this is such a great album. I've heard probably 50 times all the way through, not to mention the amount of times I've heard the songs individually.
@Likeyoucare absolutely right. The great thing is that early Ween was an obvious gag, but the more they went...well, I think the point is what's the spoof of good music and what is the real thing? A majorly underrated band that will be hailed as geniuses...as...as...as soon as they are dead.
@postyesterdayman Nothing Ween has done was ever a gag, even the funniest shit comes from the Boognish and needs to be taken seriously. And Ween shan't ever die, that's for mere mortals.
@postyesterdayman thats the sad truth. When frank zappa was alive people just saw him as a nasaly voiced troll who liked to write wierd songs (which he was many ways) but it was not till he died that people realized the genius in albums like apostrophe and grand wazoo.
@cominroitover80 - And Absolutely Free and We're Only In It For The Money and Hot Rats and Roxy & Elsewhere and Burnt Weeny Sandwich and Weasels Ripped My Flesh and....
@postyesterdayman dude, if they were more well know and blew up it wouldnt be ween, it would BE ween, but not the ween i know and love, i hope they still crank out a few more awesome albums.
@postyesterdayman That's the sad thing about music that's actually good these days (actually in most eras). The fact that it will never get the exposure it deserves and when it is finally recognized it will be long after it's time. At least awesome people like us know.
"dancing in the show tonight," weirdly, is kind of a cover of some creepy kids'/christmas song. i hear the same "holiday" station every year, and only this past christmas did i hear the song "DITST" was based upon. strange side note, the song "baby genius" by eels from "electroshock blues" is also based on a weird-ass christmas song. either that, or they're writing new christmas songs to obscure newish rock tunes.

This is one of their best songs. The mollusk was my favorite album, but quebec could be now. Or maybe a tie. Its hard to pick one.

God, "The Mollusk" is a perfect album, each song is different. There are no stand outs, the entire thing is a stand out.
