I really like what you guys did with the song, and I think so far it's my favorite of the covers. Out of all the ones I've seen, this one seems like the only one that took the music and really went somewhere new with it while keeping to the original theme of the song. honestly now that the incubus track is out, they didn't capture the energy and you guys probably have the best version on the internet right now. @hanapestle I've been following almost every version of this song and I like them, if you have time check Justin Jennings version is also really good.
I dig the drum beat guys, really tight. What kind of electric kit is that? The sound is very natural (sometimes V-Drums can sound really fake although the consistency and ease of use makes it so convenient).
@BrandonMDove Thanks Brandon. Really like your submission. As for the drums, It's just an Alesis USB kit. The software is Toontrack Superior Drummer, and it is great. Of course, we would have recorded acoustic if we had the time/space, however Superior has nicer drumsets, nicer rooms, and nicer mics then we could really have competed with. For rock music it totally does the trick, the only time I have little dynamic issues are much more sensitive styles of drumming, jazz/softer styles.
@DavidMichaelFrank Thanks a lot man, and yeah my bandmate and I live really far apart so we rely a lot on digital interfaces like that for demoing drums ( or demoing every instrument for that matter). We used to use a sweet Drum Refill he got for Reason from school, but recently we've been using Logic and EZ Drummer patches that do the trick.

Great cover guys, Everyone did a great job for sure. Personally I'm a little offended the drummer isn't playing what he recorded for the song in the video... But I guess for visual purposes he's close enough at times. For video purposes Its much easier to record the drummer while he's recording.
@COOP3RDRUMM3R Thanks so much! About the drummer thing (and really all of them) everything was tracked live, full takes through the song on video. I sorta screwed up the syncing of Ben's video/audio, sort of a bummer, but can't fix it now.

But I'm definitely very impressed by the production as a whole. Very entertaining. I was hoping to get in on the incubus cover contest myself, but of course couldn't do it alone as just a drummer and my other musicians didn't want to jump on it like I did.

Great cover guys, Everyone did a great job for sure. Personally I'm a little offended the drummer isn't playing what he recorded for the song in the video... But I guess for visual purposes he's close enough at times. For video purposes Its much easier to record the drummer while he's recording.
The video editing is really nice as well.

@COOP3RDRUMM3R Thanks so much! About the drummer thing (and really all of them) everything was tracked live, full takes through the song on video. I sorta screwed up the syncing of Ben's video/audio, sort of a bummer, but can't fix it now.

@DavidMichaelFrank Oh well its too bad about that, but it doesn't really matter that much anyway, most people wouldn't notice anyway of course. But I'm definitely very impressed by the production as a whole. Very entertaining. I was hoping to get in on the incubus cover contest myself, but of course couldn't do it alone as just a drummer and my other musicians didn't want to jump on it like I did.
