The game is great, It has grind, what kind of mmo similar to wow doesnt to be honest? im already level 50, but 70% of what you saw on that video you dont get to experience untill level 40...and ive never seen that giant rock golem standing up at the end either...overall its great, although levels 20 to 40 are tough....

WoW needs to be thinned out, with the servers so over populated it makes it quite hard to make a living, (or quite easy if you are good at it.) still it's something new.

Aion is Facking great :P it beats Wow in every aspect so i can see a reason why dedicated wow fans need to hate this ( i used to play wow myself aswell, but quit due to the pure awefullness of what blizzard has done to it)
If you can play farcry multiplayer u can play aion. Uses the same engine and they have some technology that detects when u are starting to gfx ag and it lessens the details for the stuff in the distance.

This is the last beta. They are just gonna close it off after this sunday and finish up fine tuning things a bit more and open it up on the 22nd of september.

Is this game griddy at all? Because I am quitting WoW after almost 3 yrs of playing and want to either play Aion or Warhammer Online. I prefer PvP and like a griddy MMO. Aion doesn't seem very griddy compared to War. Any suggestions?

One problem is that people tend to look for a MMO they think they will play forever. All games lose their fun factor and if you stay in one too long just because you invested yourself in it you will just be an addict and no longer a real gamer.

Like many other people here that commented and that have played the beta, I agree. The scenary in the game is amazing, and your characters even react to the environment. Ex: your character goes fishing with his/her hands when standing in a body of water. The pvpve is really fun. 4 thumbs up for this game.
I took place in the last closed beta(ended about 12 hours ago), and i would have to say that i am impressed. The Lore is plentiful, the gameplay, for both PvE and PvP alike were rather nice, and very fluid, and the storyline keeps you going!
The only negative that i found was that... Bah! I just couldn't wait to get my wings! Hehe!
i played the game on the closed beta up to level 20, the pve is really good alot better than wow in my opinion, lots of zones and quests and they have like a campaign quest line which you have as you level too (i played wow for 3 years) wow was good up to 60 then it was just the same shit with a different wrapper and i got bored with it. i cant comment on the pvp abyss stuff yet in this game but ive dueled people and its pretty balanced with all classes

People will not get over the comparison between the 2 games... The truth is you cannot compare them at all... This game has not even been released yet and wow has what 13million people playing it??? If anything the argument stems from people wanting something new in hopes that it will somehow eclipse wow.... People need to be patient and see what happens before jumping to all these conclusions and saying one is better than the other.... Give Aion time and we will see what it can do.

People usually compare things to give excuses to quit the old mmo and hype themselves to the new. Either way, both are very different game but also seems alike if you look at it generally. As far as I know Aion designer kept WoW and other popular MMO in mind and enhanced their gameplay during production. Would this make it a better game? Not by far. Reason is because they are threading into unknown territory and they're ironically putting themselves into area they are not familiar in.
come play Aion =D patch 3.2 is fail. Its way too easy to get gear in the game now, especially t9. Blizzard is doing what the customers all want that arent good ideas, such as their reason behind changing races/factions. I liked WoW up to about Ulduar. Ulduar was okay but not great. I loved leveling in WotLK. So far in Aion Ive been loving the leveling. come play =P Im giving up 3 level 80 characters to play it
This is coming out in like 45-50 days. The graphics arn't overrated, they are extremely better than anything that's out there. I've been playing the CBT and it doesn't even lag as bad as WoW does on max settings.
and u know what? The most people that joined in the beginning has quited, there are prob at most 4.5-6 millions still playing. And players on Private servers mostly always played retail wow from the start, which means. That, 5-10% that plays private never played retail, the others have. And, you can always put graphics to lowest if you dont have a computer that could handle medium/highest.
Once again some new game tries to get a piece of the action. And once again this games graphics are a "BIT" overrated. This game might be "good" as some people say. But don't rely on it that this game would do a breakthrough in the game industry..

WoW is shit now. Vanilla wow was one of the most fun and captivating games I have ever played, but now because noobs have QQ'd over and over again, vanilla is too easy to lvl in so is no longer any fun, and end-game content can be done immediately after hitting top lvl, instead of having to progress up the stages. Damn QQers. Damn them all!
Funny cause what made me quit WoW along with the fact that most of the content that I loved so much in the original game died as soon as BC came out, is the attitude problem a lot of WoW players have. You're a shining example of that attitude w/ all the characteristic terms like vanilla, QQ, noobs, etc.
Oh yeah, and I've realized that most people in other MMO's tend to be very nice and accepting, even the ones who bitch about noobs or whatever. WoW has just become a mean, mean game. It changes you.
i think cleric is gonna be WAY too un-used. it seems to me gladiators and assassins are gonna just be most of all of the players. the sad thing is i want to be a gladiator too -.-
Aion has already replaced WoW for me. I don't expect it to get WoW's players which is good cuz I can't stand alot of them lol. But the game is amazing and runs so smoothly with next to 0 loadtimes, it blew me away. The only "flaw" I see so far is the world seems rather small. However we are only v1.1 and due to release in sept with 1.5 so still ch anges to come. I also haven't been to the Abyss yet so no idea how big that locale is. Regardless, Aion is definetly a game worth trying imo :D
This game looks amazing, the only problem is that it looks TOO pretty. As in, anyone with a 2003 or newer computer can play WoW, but this looks like the graphics requirements will be steep, but dear god the environments look amazing.
Actually the necessary requirements are remarkably low! From my beta box, anyway, it currently says: 2.8GHz CPU or equivalent, 1 GB RAM, Nvidia 5900 Ultra with 128 MB RAM / ATI Radeon x700 with 128 MB RAM. Recommended: Dual Core CPU 2.0GHz or equivalent, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 6800 with 256 MB RAM / ATI Radeon x800 with 256 MB RAM.
Of course, that's just what's on my beta box, but my old computer had an Nvidia 8800 and ran the game almost flawlessly.
You think so? I think this will do quite well. It's got a snoballs chance in hell of knocking WoW off the top, but lineage II did quite well and I think this has potential.
I'd be very surprised if it failed as fast as AoC. As long as they get the launch right, this will go on for years in my opinion.

WoW is a bad game now, people should stop playing it, it takes no skill anymore its just whoever can press as many buttons as they can, and if youve picked the right class to level. aion doesnt look like its very class orientated or gear orientated at all, it looks like you need actual skill in pvp, where as WoW its not like that anymore

Like many other people here that commented and that have played the beta, I agree. The scenary in the game is amazing, and your characters even react to the environment. Ex: your character goes fishing with his/her hands when standing in a body of water. The pvpve is really fun. 4 thumbs up for this game.

I took place in the last closed beta(ended about 12 hours ago), and i would have to say that i am impressed. The Lore is plentiful, the gameplay, for both PvE and PvP alike were rather nice, and very fluid, and the storyline keeps you going!
The only negative that i found was that... Bah! I just couldn't wait to get my wings! Hehe!

i played the game on the closed beta up to level 20, the pve is really good alot better than wow in my opinion, lots of zones and quests and they have like a campaign quest line which you have as you level too (i played wow for 3 years) wow was good up to 60 then it was just the same shit with a different wrapper and i got bored with it. i cant comment on the pvp abyss stuff yet in this game but ive dueled people and its pretty balanced with all classes

Looks pretty cool, but looks can be very deceiving. I will not be pre-ordering this, but rather waiting for reviews and feedback to start rolling in before bothering with a purchase.

It will be alot like L2, tons ov PVP and epic boss battles as well. Hell Lineage 2 had some of the most epic boss and pvp fights out of any mmo period o.O Castle sieges anyone ^.~

People will not get over the comparison between the 2 games... The truth is you cannot compare them at all... This game has not even been released yet and wow has what 13million people playing it??? If anything the argument stems from people wanting something new in hopes that it will somehow eclipse wow.... People need to be patient and see what happens before jumping to all these conclusions and saying one is better than the other.... Give Aion time and we will see what it can do.

People usually compare things to give excuses to quit the old mmo and hype themselves to the new. Either way, both are very different game but also seems alike if you look at it generally. As far as I know Aion designer kept WoW and other popular MMO in mind and enhanced their gameplay during production. Would this make it a better game? Not by far. Reason is because they are threading into unknown territory and they're ironically putting themselves into area they are not familiar in.

come play Aion =D patch 3.2 is fail. Its way too easy to get gear in the game now, especially t9. Blizzard is doing what the customers all want that arent good ideas, such as their reason behind changing races/factions. I liked WoW up to about Ulduar. Ulduar was okay but not great. I loved leveling in WotLK. So far in Aion Ive been loving the leveling. come play =P Im giving up 3 level 80 characters to play it

This is coming out in like 45-50 days. The graphics arn't overrated, they are extremely better than anything that's out there. I've been playing the CBT and it doesn't even lag as bad as WoW does on max settings.

Rofl... first of all, ye, wow has 14 ACCOUNTS...
and u know what? The most people that joined in the beginning has quited, there are prob at most 4.5-6 millions still playing. And players on Private servers mostly always played retail wow from the start, which means. That, 5-10% that plays private never played retail, the others have. And, you can always put graphics to lowest if you dont have a computer that could handle medium/highest.

WoW is shit now. Vanilla wow was one of the most fun and captivating games I have ever played, but now because noobs have QQ'd over and over again, vanilla is too easy to lvl in so is no longer any fun, and end-game content can be done immediately after hitting top lvl, instead of having to progress up the stages. Damn QQers. Damn them all!

Funny cause what made me quit WoW along with the fact that most of the content that I loved so much in the original game died as soon as BC came out, is the attitude problem a lot of WoW players have. You're a shining example of that attitude w/ all the characteristic terms like vanilla, QQ, noobs, etc.

Aion has already replaced WoW for me. I don't expect it to get WoW's players which is good cuz I can't stand alot of them lol. But the game is amazing and runs so smoothly with next to 0 loadtimes, it blew me away. The only "flaw" I see so far is the world seems rather small. However we are only v1.1 and due to release in sept with 1.5 so still ch anges to come. I also haven't been to the Abyss yet so no idea how big that locale is. Regardless, Aion is definetly a game worth trying imo :D

This game looks amazing, the only problem is that it looks TOO pretty. As in, anyone with a 2003 or newer computer can play WoW, but this looks like the graphics requirements will be steep, but dear god the environments look amazing.

Actually the necessary requirements are remarkably low! From my beta box, anyway, it currently says: 2.8GHz CPU or equivalent, 1 GB RAM, Nvidia 5900 Ultra with 128 MB RAM / ATI Radeon x700 with 128 MB RAM. Recommended: Dual Core CPU 2.0GHz or equivalent, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 6800 with 256 MB RAM / ATI Radeon x800 with 256 MB RAM.
Of course, that's just what's on my beta box, but my old computer had an Nvidia 8800 and ran the game almost flawlessly.

You think so? I think this will do quite well. It's got a snoballs chance in hell of knocking WoW off the top, but lineage II did quite well and I think this has potential.
I'd be very surprised if it failed as fast as AoC. As long as they get the launch right, this will go on for years in my opinion.
