i love the stained glass window in the background, like he is in a castle ;) i love the Hound, i am on FFC so i don't know what state Sandor is in, i hope he is still alive!!
@freebearride yep. part of the reason the lanisters have a lion as their sigil is that there are lions in the area (much like the starks, there used to be direwolves in the winterfell area) the three dogs that are the clegane sigil represent the each of the actual dogs that died fighting the lion.
I like Sandor, he's very complex and even though he can be cruel, he has a kind of honour. Like Jaime (non-readers who only see him as "the guy who threw Bran from a window" stfu and read all the books). He's like a western anti-hero, from the era when decontructionist westerns became the norm.
Sandor sure isn´t a nice guy, but let´s face it - life made him so. Deep inside, he craves for normallity, which Sansa is symbolising to him. I hope he´s alive and at the end of the story, Sansa will learn to love him *squee* geez i´m such a shipper...
and this is why i love the series. every character he's focused on, is so deep and sophisticated. and you learn why they are the way they are. even the hypocrisy of knighthood chivalry which get ignored in fantasy series, is addressed. the cruel reality of war and destruction. not yay bad guy dead, everybody happy.
@Meglomaniaforever AHAHAHAHHAHAHA THAT'S GREAT! AND THEN KHAL DROGO SAYS, STUPID MAN IN IRON DRESS, AND CUTS HIS POWER CORD TO HOUSE, AND THEN THEY GET INTO A BIG BATTLE AND THEY BOTH DIE!
If you read the books, Sandor is your typical hero "anti-hero". Your Riddick, your Snake Plisken. He's not really evil, just has lower values than your average knight in shining armor saving kittens from the trees.
@nrvrine427 NO NO NO!! Sandor is not evil! No one is "Evil"! He is a very sad man that needs some serious help! He was so badly fucked up by his brother that his emotions are all distrout and anger and rage seem to be the only ones he feels (and feer at the end of book 2)! I realy pitie him. especially at times when he is trying to be nice to Sansa but only terefies her even more
....and now I'm even more taken with the character, if that's even possible. We're a lot alike, which is a lot like saying I'm taken with myself. Which I am... hahahah.
I love the Hound/the Mountain storyline. I can't help feeling sorry for the Hound and I'm curious about the Mountain in the upcoming books...

@rocksinoo I am terribly sorry but I have to spoil it for you.....The Mountain is dead and his head is sent to Sunspear...

I kinda feel like Sandor would be a good person if it weren't for his brother traumatizing him at such a young age.

The thing about George R. R. Martin is that he actually LOOKS like a good fantasy author.

@Sieglinde84 Your knowledge of moral ambiguity because you've read the books makes you so deep, it amazes me.

Gregor needs to have a bigger part in the series.

Under his burned flesh and behind his unflinching obedience to that little prick of a prince, you can tell that Sandor really is a good man.

@chomag725 Nah, he's pretty evil. Maybe he's not as bad as his brother, but he still finds far too much enjoyment in killing.

@sedeyus American- New Jersey to be specific, though his accent sounds like a faded generic east-coast accent.

unak78 7 months ago 75
@unak78 They probably remember scenes like the one where he killed Arya's little friend Mycah, and then make a joke about it to Eddard.

@stevethepirate78 I dunno, I still like him, he's no Tyrion but still.
