A Legendary Lost Masterpiece???.......... come one people its great, its fucking great BUT i think thats pushing it. My highest compliment is "its as good as anything Zappa did, Even if its admittedly inspired (almost stolen) from him" L = 4 stars on a conservative scale IMO
P.S. I love this album, im just more honest with myself.
I rushed to buy this album when it came out. Played it until I drove all my family crazy. A pal came round to hear it said 'WTF?' and left scratching his head. It is, as other posters have said, a lost masterpiece. Terrific and thank you for posting here.
These pair were the most underated of the 70`s and 80`s. Great music, taking the mickey out of the music business. Brilliant stuff. Thanks for sharing such a gem. Just bought it again, this time on CD. It is shame 10cc were never the same after they left the band, but God, did they give me some listening pleasure in my teens
Absolutely brilliant. L is the great lost masterpiece. 31 years on and it still sounds fresh as a daisy.
Although it sounds like it was recorded in the most expensive studio in the world, it was actually taped in a 16 track studio above a Co-op in Leatherhead.
Do. Not. Disturb.

Wonderfully weird and off the wall. One of the highlights of my dark teenage years.

More goes on on this recording than you're likely to hear on the average ten recordings by mainstream artists.

Their Darkside of the Moon. Densely packed and wildly overproduced to perfection. Brilliant.

This is one of those rare and brilliant lost treasures, like Mental Notes by Split Enz; Solid Pleasure by Yello; or Nina Hagen's Nunsexmonkrock.
I played this and the next one, Freeze Frame, endlessly.
Until, I guess, yeah: it ended.

L is the stand out album from their discography. Freeze Frame is pretty good but not quite L.

everything on L is great. The lyrics and music are fresh and creative, and work together for a complete piece of music.
