what did you think about the album!? some great stuff can be said man. I enjoyed..both versions of Die Slow, Severin, and In Violet a lot. pictureplane's whole aesthetic is really great imo
Dance music has really been growing on me recently. I've really liked washed out after seeing them (him? I don't know if Ernest's accompaniment is actually part of the band), and I'd say this is comparable in likeability (whatever that means), high 80's out of 100, feels very influenced by hip-hop, and when the (foggy? drowsy?) vocals kicked in, instant headrush. Love it!
i first heard this through pitchfork since the video was posted recently. personally i'm a sucker for noisy dance tracks and it sounded like a combination of a slowed 1980s dance club track and a 1990s e-raver track playing for the comedown. alan moulder mixed it and it was recorded at reznor's home studios ... so your industrial comment was quite apt. new new romantic perhaps? =]
I saw Health open for Nine Inch Nails in 2008, actually. They were kind of . . . well. I don't know if that's what "noise rock" always is or if they were just off their particular ball that night, but they were not too enjoyable. The drummer was probably the best part and vocalist(s) the worst.
However, this track didn't sound like what I heard that night. I liked it.
It felt like it just got stuck somewhere. Like a guy in his mid thirties living at his mom's place. I mean, he's a nice guy, but come on. He lives with his mom.
sounded pretty interesting, i can probably get into it, but complaints about fading out are about as annoying as fading out which isn't all that annoying
HEALTH is a good band. i never really got into them though sadly. but man Tobacco is gonna be on it?!! damn I am SOO for getting that Tobacco remix! I have EVERYTHING from BMSR/Tobacco from The White Allegheny Fish Tapes and "The Autumn Kaleidoscopes Got Changed" to "Eating Us" and everything in between along with the side stuff like Power Pill Fist and Seven Fields of Aphelion.
Wow, an 8? I thought it was kinda boring, didn't seem to go anywhere. I could see how you would like the atmosphere and such of it, but for me it's just missing something, a 5.
I want to thank you for reviewing that Pomegranates compilation, I liked it so much I played some of it on my radio show.
Its definately growing on me but im not feeling it as much as you did. As you would put it; I give this track a really strong 7 teetering on an 8. Though it does introduce me to something that I am excited to listen to! also im on your blip tv right now! hah.
This band is terrible. If you ever see them live you will instantly start to hate them. Their asian hipster bass player is the most annoying person I have ever seen live, I don't like using the word pretentious but that guy is so obnoxious with his moves on stage that your really get the desire to punch him in the face after the show. Thought they would start making decent music after DIE SLOW but they kept releasing bland crap... got lucky on DIE SLOW and somehow managed to make a decent melody
whoa, crush on this man

I think HEALTH, Clinic and Ambulance, Ltd. should get together for a jam session. They could hold it in a hospital's parking lot somewhere.
(Special appearance by Nurse With Wound.)

Also, I don't like fade-outs either. That was one of the only things I didn't like about the song.

I actually enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would, seeing as I lean way more towards Health's noisier side.

sounded better on a second listening
the synths give it a gritty intensity. would work well in a movie soundtrack.

I loved it, and I wasn't a fan of their earlier stuff. Great synths

The vocals ruin this for me. I like the synths. But I think all in all, it's kind of ho hum. 6.
