  • Rip to the writer of this book.

  • love the satire on how our civilization functions

  • I'm a fan of the book but even more so for this film adaptation. It's perfectly charming!

  • we had to watch this in french class and i can proudly say. most shittest movie i hve ever seen.

  • The little boy is too dull and sad looking to be The Little Prince. The Little Prince is supposed to be full of wonder and have more 'priss.'

  • the author and the director are different, that's why the movie and the book are different hahaha

  • That's not how he knew Earth. ZZ

  • this is a disapointment- its so different from the book if they stray like this it then it distorts the message!

  • this is a disapointment- its so different from the book

  • those were... silly planets

  • that kid looks ill

  • 'I like making things up, that's my job, making things up, I'm an historian'! Talk about speaking the truth!

  • I feel dizzy looking at that guy floating all around the place....X( ....Its a great films though :D

  • Feel like I may have watched this for my Old French Final in high school, since we used to have to read le petit prince, and i had exhausted my french to english dictionary and pink monkey/spark notesoptions....and I was tired of just plain ole guessing what happened in the story.

Sux that the movie was different from the book. I did pass tho, by the skin of my teeth. Moral of the story, pay attention in french class, and READ THE BOOK, kids!

    Cute kid, btw:)

  • @dangmama820 I had a similar issue, but I had seen the musical so I wasn't that far off the story

  • oh yeaaahhh much different. the king wasn't strict at all... shame, shame. the kid is quite good for the role

  • I make things up. I'm a historian.

    HOO BOY.

  • I missed the lamp lighter :(

  • @pochychan I missed the drunkard

  • @bshark88 yeah so did I

  • I love that kid, he is... well, was really cute!!!! *-*

  • I love the prince as much i hate the musicals. They´re so pretensious!.

  • I prefere a lot more the French musical by Richard Cocciante...

At least "le petit prince" is a french novel so I suppose than It's sound better in french to me because of the emotional part and sensitivity of the whole thing...

But the kid is a cutie !

  • thanks for posting , i was introduced to this when i was a carer for a boy with autism, he was fascinated with it and i found it totally enchanting. thanks

  • This reminds me a bit of Terry Gilliam's work. :) I wonder if he was inspired by this movie and book.

  • Victor Spinetti was in this movie as the Historian. He was in 3 Beatles movies ("A Hard Day's Night," "Help!", and "Magical Mystery Tour"

  • the little boy are soo cute its the cutes children i ever seen..

  • The movie keeps the spirit, for the most part.

  • isnt that the king in the book is more nice than the king here i the movie?hehe..

we are currently making a home reading report about this story.. and my teacher told us that we could also watch the movie...but there are some parts in the book that was not taken in the movie.. haha.. im enjoying this story.. the little prince is sooo cute.. hate the rose:)

  • where is the tippler??????

  • This movie killed the book. Completely different, and quite frankly the movie is just ANNOYING. The book is wonderful, screw the shitty movie.

  • I agree, the changes are annoying. I'm curious why people ever make them at all, they aren't necessary.

  • i dont like the songs in the movie

  • "silly ass" made me fucking lol.

  • i turned this on at first thinking i'd exit instantaneously later realizing i'd my self watching infinitely into this old and concoctive show.

  • hmn...

If you didn't read the book...this movie wouldn't upset you as much.. but the planets he visits are diff. even the king's doesn't follow the book

He actually meets a king, egoist, businessman, drunk, lamp lighter, and geographer..jeez.

  • @saizobacon I read the book in french class as "le petit prince" but the differences didnt upset me that much probaly cuz I couldnt understand any of the book--but I got the differences cuz since we're still just in level 2 the teacher did sort of translate for us

  • @SmileyFace4646

I read it in French class as "Le Petit Prince" as well =)

I just feel like the lessons learned in the book are much better.

  • @saizobacon yeah right, but the movie is pretty good. :D

  • i love Gene Wilder

  • isn't gene wilder willy wonka in the original version?

  • i know, i love him, he's my second hero, Matthew Broderick is my first hero

  • yes he is

  • He's the ONLY Willy Wonka.

  • haha this movie is so lame (in a good way)

    I LOVE IT

  • the planets that the little prince visits are all difirent from the book, execpt the king

  • the part with the king is different from the book

  • There is a man who actually owns the stars. He's selling parts of the moon now.

  • no one actually buys parts of the moon or the stars. It's like a special recognition to get a little piece of paper that a star is named after you.. it's a thank you for a donation.

  • This man is actually selling acres of moon. He found a loophole in the constitution.

  • Uh-huh. Who is this? And why?

  • I can't remember his name, look it up if you're that concerned about verifying it. I saw it on the television, and as everyone knows: the television never lies.

  • Indeed. :)

  • I missed your comment. Huhuhu Smart
