This won't be the longest for long. Boeing 747-8I will be longer, making the longest in the world when it comes out in 2011.

Nop. Look it up on the Boeing website. The 747-8I will be longer, stretched and wider upper cabin, longer wing, redesigned wings and wing lets. Bigger engines, with the hash kit stage 3. and many more.

Yes , they have to be carefull of the "angle of attack"on take off , otherwise a tail strike can (and does) happen
