Ok the green card is the most important peice to get it to work so take out the yellow thing slide the green peice in and put the yellow peice on top, now put the r2 in the correct position slide the rod through almost all the way so u can put the spring back how u had it it was right. Now pare a tweezers grab the part on top and move it til it snaps into position

i just got mine fixed, thanks to you and e1matheus. you do (or did) have the spring upside down. the way you position it is so that the spring is resisting you pullin it back, so if your holdin the controller lookin at it side on the spring is in the shape of an upside down L (like a 7 but right angles). now ive still got the problem ive had sicne gettin the ps3; in menus my controller keeps scrollin up and i gotta push mega hard to make it go down but its ONLY in menus, not actually ingame.help

thanks for this vid. and for anyone dealing with a broken R2 spring, ive found a solution! it took me a little more than an hour to figure out, but i custom made a spring but taking a spiral spring out from a machanical pencil, cuting it, and straightening out 2 ends to make the identical shape and size of the original. just an idea

Hi there Slymemo, the problem is your putting the spring the wrong way, the correct position is similar to an inverted "V" with the vertex pointing towards the front of the controller, that way there will be a portion of the spring resting on top of the black plastic base and the other part will be inside the R2 button, and there you go. the spring should be BEHIND that black clip.. thats why you're having a problem.. its really not that hard.. should take 2 seconds.. it did for me

i dont have a duelshock but i hAVE a sixaxis and heres what happened. i left my controller on the ground and got covered by a blanket...then i didnt see and stepped right on it. The L3 button came out and i dont know wat to do. Same problem. + i think i can find it out by the duelshock controller but the other guys vid i cant see SHIT! omg been spending hours on it.
