  • Get Britain Working! well stop making everycunt redundant then cameron you fucking useless piece of tory shit,

  • i have to ask this question, have the tories got britain working? with 2.8 million people unemployed, the highest it's been for 17 years and with youth unemployment at it's highest ever, have they got britain working? no they haven't, the useless cunts!

  • i want to ask people is it really better under a conservative government??

  • unemployment has risen to a 17 year high, increasing by 129,000 to 2.62 million, the number of young people aged 16-24 out of work has risen to more than 1 million, 1.02 million, yes that's right cameron you useless cunt let's get britain working

  • these nazi's are forcing disabled people off benefits and into work! i'm not being cruel but there's not many employers who will employ mentally ill people, people are 2.6 million people are on incapacity because they're sick and unable to work you thick fuckers! and there's not many jobs to get anyway

  • @MrWaynehaywood do you have a job yet?

  • All tory supporters are thick inbreed mummys boys that have never done a days work in their lives, all they do is lick their mothers assholes for an allowance then fuck their cousins , lazy workshy cunts , I love beating the fuck out of the pricks , they are all so weak from inbreeding all they can do is cry as I smash their faces in to their own front doors.

  • @VlogTour Haha you stupid lying prick ! "JSA £70 a week" I just used google and found that you can get £60.50 a week , that just goes to show that you tory pedophiles are fucking liars ! Hahaha thick twat , you just got fucking pwnd ! Have a nice day faggot !

Try learning to use google next time you stupid tory spastic ! Go fuck your cousin you worthless inbreed piece of shit hahaha !

You really should end your worthless life , working for your mummy is not a job get a real job prick !

  • alright, If you can provide 2.5 million jobs, then go ahead, ill be happy to take one of those. As Im sure the rest of the majority on benefits will. Becuase its a real easy time living off benefits......

  • So many people are on Incapacity Benefit because THEY ARE SICK OR DISABLED. Very few people are committing fraud, despite the mindless drivel misreported by the tabloids. Many have been made ill through having worked, so who's fault is that. Traumatising the sick and disabled by hounding them into a strained jobs-market that doesn't want them, and by reducing their benefits will only make matters far worse. There will be suicides. Not the Con-Dem slime will ever care.

  • Japan is in a similar situation. Japan took jobs from Europe and the US and now China and Vietnam have done the same on Japan. The only way for Japan to maintain its current standard of living is to get her people to study more, get her universities and companies to do more research and innovations. Unless the quality of skill goes up, Japan will lose out. We all have to look beyond the sea and learn where we stand in the world skill league.

  • I love how the Tories will get Britain working. Cut 490,000 jobs from the public sector. Brilliant way to get Britain working. Doesn't Cameron know anything about basic economics? If someone is getting wages, they spend the money in the private sector and that amount is magnified six times in the economy. If they don't have any money (and under Tory welfare cuts they definitely won't) then they can't spend anything and businesses go bust. Well done George. Thanks for screwing us all over.

  • yes and kick out all the paki immigrants that are illegal

  • Nice video to stir disabled hatred.

What next? Videos slagging asians and blacks for being unemployed?

I have MS and NO employer would touch me with a bargepole!

WHO'S fault is it REALLY, David?

  • get britain working...vote BNP...conservatives are just as fucking useless

  • Here in Brazil I went to school with a girl that got a major in Theatre and moved to UK. She became public employee and her job: to create entertainment activities to socialize adults that for some reason or other never worked. She told me last Xmas that there are families there that the generation of the 30's, the generation of the 50's, the generation of 70's and the generation of the 90's never worked

  • "5 million people have never had a job under Labour."

Says YOU, Mr. Cameron. You never worked a day in your life outside of the Conservative party!

    SCUM.

  • just think labour created a welfare state giving single mothers £500 each time they have a kid thats just stupid 95% of single mothers not all of them but a lot have kids just to get money from the labour government i just hope the conservatives deal with this problem

  • This IS the problem. There is no way to deal with what has been started. Not a way anyone will have the guts to choose. No matter what you think of them, single mothers and their children, need to live, eat, be clothed, wether the mother works or not. If I could earn what I do, by making some excuse, and being on Benefits, I would do it in a FLASH! If the peopleon benefits, would be much better off with a job... they would work, anyone will with the right motivation.. The money to LIVE!

  • Untill this country can provide that, it will go down the tubes for all of us.. FAST. It is already happening. People on State Pensions are living in EXTREME POVERTY. For all of us who think.... " That will never happen to me, I put money aside, I have a work pension..." Get real, watch the news. Unless you are very close to retirment, good luck with that still being there for you! Good luck with it being "protected!" Im not a cynisit! I just live in the UK...

  • Screw benefits imo. If you cba getting a job, you get no money simple. (unless you are actually disabled and having a "learning disability" doesn't count because all that is, is you cba in school) Thats the way id do it.

  • @noob123dude "learned disability"? What, like Post Tramatic Stress Syndrome in soldiers? You anti welfare sorts are deluded throwbacks living in fantasylands; were God makes the good rich and the devil makes the evil poor? Go back to the Dark Ages, you're a detriment to our species. The welfare state is a hallmark of human civilisation, a huge step forward and its destruction would indicate a regress to Dark Age thinking. The welfare state is a triumph of individualism and democracy.

  • @Tuathalful How the fuck can you compare "learning disabilities" to PSTS?

  • @noob123dude

A lot of educated people are also unemployed after graduating from university and they generally still can't find any work no matter how hard they try.

I am lucky I work as a teacher but a lot of my friends have graduated with degrees and can't find the job that they had studied for what do you say to them? personally I think it is a lot harder for people who are educated to find work in Britain because of 13 years of Labour rule. I am a conservative voter BTW!

  • By the sounds of it... Under YOUR system. You would be in Jail, or dead. In fact! Your system sounds great...

  • The Conservatives are the best.

  • their has been millions out of work as far back as I can remember...this time the governments have been caught out stealing millions of pounds from the country....the people that are working...and blaming the so called debt on the unemployed...all governments in this country are corrupt...we need a hung parliament to help restore the country ...its peoples....and lets not forget billions going out onto ..immigration....

  • VOTE for CONSERVATIVE VOTE FOR CHANGE!!!!!

  • Musical EDITING was AWESOME

  • My sister is on incapacity benefits. She needs them to pay for things. Like food and heating. She has cerebral palsy making a lot of work difficult for her so she can't get or work a normal job.

Some people claiming for over 10 years? Well guess what! A disability is for LIFE, not just for a term in office. Idiots.

  • @icklenellierose Obviously there are exceptions. Nothing is in black and white, merely shades of grey. I hope you work hard to make your sisters life easier, as any person should. Support the family!!! Those that don't are worse than scum.

  • @Avionicgenius I'm at university studying so that I can get a good job and give back something to my mum for all her support and to help my sister find something that she can do and enjoys.

There are many many shades, but when it comes to spurting out random scary figures to get votes, the Tories choose to only see in black and white.

  • @icklenellierose Well, it's going to be hard for you, considering you'll have 21 to 28 thousands pounds worth of debt before you even start working!!!

I know this because I'm a final year masters student in engineering. I got hit by the tuition fee's! It's a disgusting world we live in, where those that seek self improvement get penalised.

  • @icklenellierose one word fuck you!! no offence to you're sister but why would the tories need to explain the ovb common if you're sister can't work of course she'll get her benifits but you don't know what it's fucking like to try to work and getting nowhere having all these fucking imbred chavs and neds running about on benifits and shit. They are people out there refusing to work and living on benifits getting an easy life under labour and i see that everyday.

  • @scottkingofska Thanks. Swearing is obviously the best way to get a point across. My mum works in a school where she sees kids whose families are on benefits and shouldn't be. They irritate me SO MUCH because they're taking benefits from people like who actually need them. I know there ARE people trying to cheat the system, but there are an equal amount of people who AREN'T. We need to tighten the system without tarring all people on benefits with the same brush.

also, "f*** you' is two words.

  • @icklenellierose But there not tarring it with the same brush. at least there actually doing something about it, other than just ignoring it. I am unemployed and living on benefits and its all i have because theres no one sorting this problem. It's quite obvious they won't put people who just can't work in with it, like no ones that stupid. and i personally feel it would be even more stupid to make policies longer just to say don't worry we're not talking about people who can't work.

  • @scottkingofska It's EXTREMELY difficult to find if someone is cheating benefits. They can't access certain info without breaking privacy laws. That why you see all the 'Benefit Thieves' ads encouraging members of the public to come forward with info; the government has been doing stuff about it.

The tories were using these 'big scary numbers' just to get the vote (fail..!). The real numbers (i.e. not including those who genuinely need benefits) are probably nowhere near the numbers in this ad.

  • @icklenellierose The government has done nothing about it, New Labour are too soft with it even if they have tried. We need a change a the Tories lying or not have made this an issue to be looked at and you did said you're self you are sick of it. Tories will get down and dirty with it, without the whole Labour oh come forward we're too lazy to actually stand up and do something.

  • Not a fan of the Tories, but this is their best advert yet.

  • Under Labour, I am not getting the DLA I should be entitled to because the NHS failed me so many times because of my disability I have given up trying to get help. I can't get a diagnosis for a sleep problem I've had all my life because my doctor and psychiatrist have told me if I make another appointment and miss it I will be struck off their lists. More stringent tests under the Conservatives that ignore vulnerable people by relying on medical evidence alone will only result in more suicides.

  • How come Labour keep importing immigrant workers when we are still losing our jobs?

I believe Labour are DELIBERATELY destroying this country as Obama is doing in America.

  • i am unemplyed and on disability benefit. The reason is because I am autistic and nobody will give me a job unless it is in a coal mine or up a chimney.

So if you are watching this video complaining then why dont you give me a good job?

I have a degree in Computer Science, Politics, Economics and Psychology. Previous work attempts failed because people get annoyed with my autistic ways.

  • @cjellwood Dude, I´m not even brit to say a thing, but on the basis of friendly advice, you seem to be a rather smart guy, have you ever tried to work freelance, from home?

  • @alonelychild yes but at this moment I am spending lots of time challenging the DSS through tribunals etc trying to keep the benefits. The ESA system was supposed to give me Emplyment, Support and Allowance when I applied for it. I have received none of those listed. ESA benefit looked like a good idea on paper but it turned out to be just a legal framework to kick people of incap

  • @cjellwood No body want's to take away from the people that need. It's the people that don't, I do admire you for wanting to work tho, But it's the people who can work and falsely claiming Disability

  • @cjellwood No body want's to take away from the people that need. It's the people that don't, I do admire you for wanting to work tho, But it's the people who can work and falsely claiming Disability

  • @cjellwood Wish you the best. However the majority of people involved in Browns "benefits for votes" scandal were perfectly healthy. Brown put them on benefits so they would vote labour.

  • Every day we get closer to a hung parliament, I get more optimistic.

In Britains 60 years of Labservative dynasty, maybe its time we experiment with a coalition government- many successful nations have it.

  • Do you know what happened when unemployment rose in germany, The Nazi Party Was Elected. -.-

  • So what will you do? :S You outline the problems.....but that's it.

  • TYPICAL TORY FILTH

Instead of taking on the bankers (who fund the Conservative Party) they want to demonise all claimants. The voluntary work many do is ignored and the Tories prefer to reach out to Sun and Express reading ignoramuses by tarring ALL Claimants with the same brush.

    A Britain Fair For All?

This makes my blood boil given how much the Tory Party has been involved in the Expenses Scandal.

Chris Grayling is an extremist who does not deserve to be in a position of power.

  • @WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1

I seem to remember a britain fair for all as being a labour party slogan.

  • I think it's a bit naive to think that the Tories really have the solutions to solving the jobs crisis. We need to create more jobs, but other things also need to happen. We need to incentivise work by making sure that everyone can earn a living wage, we need to give school leavers more assistance than they are currently getting. We also need to be really careful with regards to the welfare state - removing safety nets at this uncertain stage in the economy could be a big mistake.

  • @pinickityme

I agree with what you say about Thatcher but Labour have taken it to a new level. Brown is not so naive. He is even encouraging borrowing at this minute. Labour turned a blind eye to the reckless behaviour of the banks and lenders. They did sweet FA to impinge the culture of borrowing and greed and its all crashing down on our heads now. Brown is a reckless, embittered fool who will leave in his wake a scorched earth economy

  • Re: Bella

Had Brown realised the extent to which toxic debts had built up in the US system [& then been sold around] then he may have acted, but since it is likely this mess will be his downfall it is unlikely he was so aware. Hence naive.

  • I've been busy the past three weeks renovating a castle, new houses, helping a friend gain weight for his sport and one loosing weight for the girls lol. Anyway i read the article, whats your point? Schiff lost money in 2008 i knew that, and i don't invest with him so why should i care? The article doesn't take in to account his gains in 2009 that more than made up for losses in 2008, in all fairness to Mish the article was written before

  • Re: 2000

I thought you believed in Libertarian economics? If so, my point is that even the great Schiff gets it wrong & let's face it economists are all pitching in the dark hoping something unforeseen don't come along and sink them.

  • look that post was one in three, let me post the rest. I replied four days ago and only the last part was put on youtube. I posted the first part of my new reply but couldn't post second and third, so let me try again. Please tell me if you get reply but it dosen't come up on youtube this is very irritating!

  • then. It doesn't how Schiff protected peoples money from the internet crash which he warned about years before it happened. He warned about the credit crisis, why it would happen and what was going wrong before it actually happend people laughed at him and he was right, where was Mish then keeping quiet and not putting his career in jeopardy, there's nothing wrong with that. My pont is Schiff portfolio has nothing to do with my economics, me written about Schiff's portfolio is

  • boring and Mish is trying to make a name for himself. I'm not a libertarian i'm a practical person and what is proven to work works.

  • Re: 2000

that's cool. An honest practical Scot. Makes me proud of my roots. Makes a change to hear someone posting on these threads who is not driven by ideology. THe old Capitalist V Socialist stuff is old hat now. They both have their merits & downsides. But I am in total agreement with Andrew Marr [his "History of Modern Britain" is well worth a watch - pt 5 still on iPlayer] that it is lucky to have been born in Britain [whether you always like the politics or not!].

  • pinickityme theres nothing naive a bout a man who can rob billions from private pension funds sell of our gold reserves, hide the financial mess britain has been in for the last 5 years then borrow billions trying to get out of the same mess.that man is gordon brown,no way is he naive.lets just pray it is his down fall sad thing is he will fall flat on to his gold plated inflation proof pension for life.plus a fiew directorships.

  • The trouble is there are millions who want to work but Brown has fucked the economy with his braindead borrowing policy. YOU HAVE TO PAY BACK sometime you useless incompetant fool. He has done so much damage it will take decades to return to normality if it ever can.

    Se vid below

Gordon Brown is a Moron. Gordon Brown's Debt.

  • I would agree with you there.

  • Re: Bella

And who introduced monetarism to the UK, getting so many into debt with all those readily available loans. Thatcher. Brown was just naive not realising that once you hand over the economy to the market & the bankers that their short termism & greed would go toxic on us all.

  • GOT IT IN ONE!!!

  • re: JB

& who was it that signed us up for cheap free flowing easy credit? Thatcher!

  • Oh goodness are you still on here moaning. All you ever do is moan, moan, moan. Lighten up. You don't have to attack every word or slight comment a person makes. Do something better with your life. You are so worked up on Thatcher, well don't know if you realise but she left office 20 years ago this November - you're a bit out of date. We are not talking the past, lets just focus on the future. Yeh?

  • Re: Bins

"Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past" - [George Orwell].

Do I moan, naaaa mate. But I do remember your bleating - you should look at some of your previous posts. Whilst the problem with Thatch & her legacy is that it is being re-written by those that would hold her up as some kind of saint which she was not.

  • Comment removed

  • Well you are bleating too, mate! Again its an Adhominin, You attack the person not actually the ideology or the Party, ect. You have proven my point - you are stuck in the past and I would prefer not to waste my time on you. You clearly don't like Thatcher, ok, and I am not going to change that but to be quite honest I dont want too! She is gone, your quote means nothing to me, I don't agree with it. So by quoting Orwell was I supposed to lie down and beg your supremacy. Oh please.

  • Re: JB [2 of 2]

The Orwell quote is akin to "history is written by the victors" which you must also disagree with. History is often misrepresented & turned into propaganda. But all the bad stuff she did should not be forgotten. Moreover, the reason I comment on posts such as yours & the "maggie was great kind of gush" is that such things should be challenged. It's not that I don't like Thatch but that I detest much, though not all, of what she did.

  • No I would totally agree with you there!

  • Surprisingly

  • Vurry so far from the target, if lazy over paid General Practitioners gave honest diagnosis, then we would never have had this problem. GPs, are basically using the threat or worry of violence from many, even best patients, Gp turns a blind eye. Easy money for GP services, on the books for life.

Why require hire more expensive non-essential health care professionals? We wont save a penny...

Listen to health boards, examine the mass of social health care qualifications, all complete waste.

  • Re: BV5

At times like these you need to define what you mean by patriotic. As for Noo Labour - they merely carried on with Thatchers business - I remember the state of the schools & hospitals under the Cons!! And that the Cons don't lie!?!? They're politicians has it escaped your notice?

  • FROM THE FT [Tues' 2nd Feb']

"UK manufacturing activity surged in January, expanding at its fastest pace since 1994, according to the latest purchasing managers survey'.

So the one paper which can surely be trusted on such matters is saying this. Hence it seems Mr Brown's gov't has presided over such a turnaround having put in place the mechanisms for such a thing. He may have ben naive over the banking practices & US toxic debts which screwed us all but we are where we are. VOTE LABOUR

  • Look were just high on government stimulus, the structural base of our economy is far from sound. We have a housing bubble waiting to burst, the governments on a inflationary spending binge, sounds a bit like what got us in to this mess Real growth comes from savings, didn't the average person last year save £40. Yes, manufacturing expanding is the best news we've had, but it's export lead, which is a good thing but what does country demanding our goods got to do with Gordon Brown.

  • Re: 2000

excuse my simplistic economic understanding - but is not a manufacturing surge the thing which will provide the monies so as to tackle the difficult financial situation we are in? And given that the Cons would not have not bailed out the awful bankers [although it leaves a bitter taste given that they are now paying themselves huge bonuses after screwing up so] have been so much more of a problem. Whilst unemployment seems not to have hit the roof as it otherwise might have?

  • Yes, thats why i said it was a good thing but it has nothing to do with Gordon Brown. No i still think the banks should of failed there a liability and there taking labour, capital and investment away from competent companys like in manufacturing. Any PM can borrow money for employment, and it works in the short term but every pound spent saving a job is pound repaid in the future taking a job away and you need to think about the interest. I don't see how people can't understand how

  • serious our debt problem is. £44billion is going to be the interest on government debt this year up from £30billion last year. Imagine our country had no debt, that's what i want to see in the future.

  • Re: 2000

well let's all decide that property belongs to the state then & we will all work like shit together to invent & manufacture stuff [renting our homes back for £30 a week] so as to earn some real cash & so advance our great nation! & all living pretty comfortably ever after. pass me the spliff please [& a proper Republic to boot]

  • Funny, but you make it sound like paying back the debts fantasy or maybe not in our best interest. Gordon Brown got our current account deficit down form 36% to 28% of GDP in 4 years, well why stop there. Would it not of been better if he payed it all down, then built new schools and hospitals etc not that there wasn't improvements before that. Then it would of been like financial crisis, well lets build more schools and hospitals we're in a good position to do it. Now that would of been smart.

  • Re: 2000 [1 of 2]

hindsight of course but at least they were built [although why PFI - other than to keep shit off the books] but they did at least they went for it which the Cons wouldn't have, only being interested in running it all down so they could argue that private investment & must be sold so maybe we actually got off lightly in the long run [could have ended up being screwed for more than the PFI payments will cost!

  • Re: self [2 of 2]

On Question Time John Sergeant said [to paraphrase] "we should consider that we are recovering form something akin to ww2. take a longer term view" - I say be glad to be alive, go smell the grass. This could be Bagdad!!

  • Sir Evlyn de Rothchild who checked into a hotel nearby the twin towers on 9/11 in New York to witness the movie 9/11 from his penthouse suite has a personal wealth of over 500 TRILLION dollars. As a rothchild once said "War is the most profitable buisness" their motto is "order amongst kaos" They also own media groups who control what people think, they hand pick presidents an pms on both sides of the political fences to give the ILLUSION you have free choice. As regards money they have always loaned money that dosnt exist out as credit enslaving with debt

After the second world war many natzis were taken to usa and nazi and used to form what is now NATO

  • The Illuminai has an Agenda, a New World Order, To do this they have to depopulate the world. The word is run from a military way from washington. A monitary way from the city of London and spiritually from the Vatican. None of these places are anserble to their host land. During the 1990s the CIA was organising extream muslim groups and with the help of bin laden who visited washington dc twice planted the seeds. Beneseer buto the pakistani pm tried to raise the alarm to no avail

  • vote BNP thats what this cuntry needs a bloody good shake up

  • THe problems of unemplymentgo far beyond any Labour can solve or the Tories even care about...how many Britis job have been out sourced to takes advantage of child.slave labour - or just underpaid work in places like India? How many job can or society have in a market already failing through its own over saturation? and in 9 years haven't over 4 million immigrants became pernament citizens? These things are too big for any government to even want to even try and solve.

  • Fantastic video. I'd like to see Gordon Brown's response to this, particularly the fact that "one in six children are growing up in a household where no one works".

Every Labour government has left Britain in an economic mess which we Conservatives have to repair!

  • DO VOTE BNP!

We are NOT Racists, and are the only Party that care about this Country.

Britain is being lead by incompetant idiots, Labour idiots.

Vote Labour, vote for those who care...

  • You truly are an idiot. Every political party cares. It is just about which people, policies, ideas and understandings you want running the country. And seeing as this country has been run into the ground by Labour it proves they are no longer capable of running a country, especially when they are so deluded as to what they are doing to damage the country.

  • How much national insurance do Tescos employees pay and how much do they earn???

  • What, is this a personal education system for you? LMAO! Are you unable to do any research yourself. Seeing as you never actually state an argument, only ask question. 2000 was right about you.

As for your insistence on profit margins- on what you fucking idiot? Olive oil from Italy? Shoes from Indonesia, Shirts from China? And in relation to the currency rate before or after recession? Who's understanding will we go on, H. Peter Gray's perhaps?! Yet again you look stupid.

  • When you have a family to feed or important bills to pay it doesn't matter how much national insurance you pay. (Unless of course you are one of these Labourites who only care about the GDP of the nation and not the individual life).

Unless of course not working at Tesco in time of need won't leave you hungry or homeless in which case shut up about being unemployed!

  • All manufacturing is now in china including steal works in sheffield!!!!!!!

Anyone know how much profit is on cloths from china??

  • All manufacturing is in China? This is not an educated statement, especially as western economies have adapted from the old days of producing goods. We provide services and technologies. Places like India and China are still playing catch up, even if they do produce masses of goods.

  • Comment removed

  • Labour and the conservatives let manufacturing leave the UK thats why so many people are unemployed.

Take newcastle for instance and most northen cities which where based on industry or textiles.!!!

  • You are stuck in the past. There is no way a country like this can compete on the production market with countries like India and China who have populations over a billion. We would be undercut instantly and our economy would fail. Say something of note.

  • @Wolfhaines

Drivel, obviously you have no common sense and don't know what the profit margines are on imports do you??????

  • ME having no common sense? You are the one arguing for greater export and industry which will do NOTHING to solve our recession because our economy isn't based on that. We are a finance nation, biggest finance nation in Europe. We have a problem with the plumbing, but do not worry because innhouseproductions will sort out the garden. idiot. You obviously have no idea about paying British wages to British workers who do a worse job than foreigners in a different country. Fact of life.

  • Re: wolf

whether to be a manufacturing based economy or so called finance based; manufacturing leads to having something to sell for hard cash. whilst the so called finance industry has proven itself untrustworthy & in need of regulation so those whose greed & irresponsible behaviour can not do the same or anything like it again.

  • We sell lot's of things. Services is one of them. Not to mention pharmaceuticals, engineering (declining), livestock and technology. All of which produce hard cash. But I see what you are saying, which can not be escaped. As for the banking sector- it was their RESPONSIBLE behaviour which led to them declining credit and led to the current bust. Government encouraged them to give 3 mortgages to a guy who couldn't pay for one.

  • Re: wolf

just because; selling finance to persons whose situation leaves them more than tempted by £10k in the hand whilst likely through no fault of their own to default on the repayments should the economy so much as hiccup - on a scale that leads to either state intervention or probable meltdown of the the world's financial sector, isn't illegal, doesn't mean these money grabbing "where's me bonus" bankers acted well. they didn't............

  • There are bonus' in all types of jobs. These bankers have made billions for this country, more than they have cost us. So I din't care if they get huge bonus' based on performance.

You forget that the state encouraged all this from the banks. Banks provide a service. Don't blame the casino for your gambling problem It is the fault of those who took out huge finances n are now in trouble who are to blame. No1 forced them to...

  • ...take out second mortgages just to go on holiday or have that new car. Yet when it goes wrong it is suddenly the banks fault and the state should pick up the cost. I don't think so. This country should take a good hard look at itself, and who is really to blame for their own plight.

However, it is understandable those that never got into financial trouble but lost their job because of downturn- I feel for them on the jobless and family strain front.

  • @Wolfhaines

    @Wolfhaines

Thats why where in recession you nutyed, there's no basis for trade. Just to let you know I am educated!!!HA HA and so is my sister.

In service sector a lot of its moved to india, for instance British Telecom moved their call centers from Derby to India.

Any more silly statments you'd like me to answer??

  • @Innhouseproductions Look the idea that we're not a big exporter because we do not have heavy industry is very misleading. The UK is the 6th largest exporting nation, we have the second and third largest pharmaceutical companys Glaxosmithkline and Astrazeneca, we produce high value goods like aerospace and electronics and we still produce Vauxhall cars and export around 90% of them. I live in a small town and we produce bottled water and whisky. And why do you think we're in a recession?

  • @2000drpain86

    @2000drpain86

Don't you read the Times or Daily Telegraph??

Why do I think we are in recession!!!!!

  • @2000drpain86

I take it you don't read the Times or the Daily telegraph then????

  • @Innhouseproductions Good move deflect with a question, you should be a politician. Same reason we always get booms and busts, credit expansion. I read a lot of papers amongst other stuff. What about you? Tabloids are like shepherds flocking there sheep in to a religion, are you one of them?

  • I look at tabloids I don't read them there full of the stuff you put in the toilet after a good meal!!!!!!

Not a deflection at all, taxes have been going up.

However the broadsheets are getting full of fluff and bad journalism. I also read the NYtimes beacause our media is becoming so useless.

In 2008 we where the ninth largest exporter.

  • Silly statements? Go get a Phd then come and play with the big boys. Some call centres move to india? SO WHAT!? It increases profit for British business'. YOu are missing the biggest single factor in all this- Britain is still wealthy compared to the rest of the world.

We are the only country left in a recession, amazing how France and Germany can survive on same economy styles as us even though you claim they fail. You are clueless.

  • @Wolfhaines

    only some!!!!!!!!!

  • You have just shown your stupidity and naivety here. No point in arguing with you because you do not have an argument. You seem to be touting archaic values, Britain wasn't running at a profit when all these industries you seem to love were around. And as modern Britain becomes more educated and service based there are less and less people to do those jobs as it is. [near] slave Labour in China means lower prices for us. Benefits the country.

  • @Wolfhaines

It seems you still haven't answered my question, whats the profit margin?????

  • Profit margin on what? Olive Oil from Italy? A pair of shoes from Indonesia? Maple Syrup from Canada? There are different trade agreements and costs from around the world. Stop trying to be clever, it isn't working. What is the profit for a business on a T-Shirt made in Britain compared to that of one made in China? Far greater. You have absolutely no argument here. Pathetic.

  • Not to mention the value of the pound, which is usually quite high helps out. I bet you have never even heard of H. Peter Gray, Perhaps you should go read him before you try and tout nationalistic views on economic productions in a globalised world.

  • @Wolfhaines

    !!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Wolfhaines

    Deflecting again!!!!! What's the margin??

  • Comment removed

  • Here we go people on benefits again are naughty, problem is there are not enough jobs!!! Idiots

  • Problem is the country has too many people, of which too many are retired.

  • Comment removed

  • NewLabour1- Labour have wrecked the country. The economy before labour was not in a bad situation. They inherited some of the best figures since the end of WWII. Now we have some of the worse figures. Sums Labour up!!

  • Re: wolf

although Mr Brown's actions are also regarded as having stabilised the UK banking sector and which were the blueprint that other nations used to stabilise theirs. but the worlds financial ills are not the fault of Noo Lab. Moreover, the Wilson Labour government inherited a financial crisis from the Cons in the 60's. it's nothing new!!

  • It's hard to compare the recession in 1961 two quarters totaling 0.8% contraction with the current situation. Whoever wins the next election is going to have to deal with the worst economic conditions since WW2. In 2001 Government dept if you include PFI programs, liabilites like the banks and future obligations like unfunded pensions was 70% of GDP now it's 330%. Ask yourself how come after the government bailouts dept to GDP increased minimaly even though GDP was falling.

  • And this does not include consumer dept which has risen from £720billion 2001 to £1.5trillion measured in november last year. The next government has to deal with a unaffordable public sector, paying down a dept thats increasing by £180billion a year and a bunch of worthless banks that will need future bailouts. Plus consumers need to start repaying there unprecedented dept and since a lot of the depts is owned by foreigners, less money and investment in our economy.

  • Re: 2000

your position is? small state big on a totally free market? adam smith? privatise the PO? schools? police? NHS? army? fire-service? ? ? ?

  • @pinickityme I believe there is a role for government and the market, so my answer is no to your questions. Apart from maybe the post office, Germany has a privatized post office which i've heard is as effective and cheaper than our own i could be wrong not looked in to it. The NHS is the perfect example of how some things work better socialized( though i have to add France has the best health care and it has small charges for people who can afford it) all you have to do is compare it to the US

  • @pinickitymewhich is the most privatized system of the developed countrys. One in six americans have no health cover so from a moral point of veiw it's already bankrupt. But the most interesting thing about the comparison is US health care money spent per person is over £3000 more than the in UK. Money spent in UK health care is 8.5% of our GDP in the US it's 18%, and it dosen't even cover all the population. Ok if you are covered in the US there are some small advantages to the UK,

  • @pinickityme but it's morally wrong and it's a financial black hole. But what i think is the public sector can only be as large as the private sector can afford, i mean whats the point of having more of somthing now if you have to have a lot less of it in the future.

  • Re: 2000

But unfortunately the public sector would only be as vibrant as the private sector is prepared to finance as a consequence of the prevailing economic fashion.

  • @pinickityme True, but you must agree that any government should put money away for the bad times. Front line services must be maintained as much as is feasible, the tax revenue that we had before is not going to return. And we couldn't balance the books even when we had it, so it should be clear that the public sector has to lose jobs or/and pay cuts.

  • Re: 2000

the estimated £100bn every year avoided by the tax avoiding super-rich would set the books straight. these scum who pay accountants rather than tax need treating like the common criminals they are.
