  • I've been to Europe and traveled on their trains (between Poland and Hungary). Many are electric there, and also designed in the 60's and 70's which was pre "enviro" histeria. In other words, their efficiency stinks. The amount of juice required to power hundreds of miles of line considering line bleedoff, US trains will win the day on efficiency since the power created is consumed on demand. Before any of you sound stupid and debate me, read up electromagnetic effects around conductors (wire)

  • Nicely done. She was bookin'!

  • About 100 cars.

  • how many engines were on

  • thats one flying train alright

  • Great video! If Amtrak would get off their bureaucratic butts and return the Sunset Limited to FL, it would use that track, too.

  • Damn, that train was flying! Nice Catch!!

  • no wonder it was fast.... it had 6 engines

  • That train was hauling ASS!!!!!

  • LOL HOLY SHIT He was flying. o_o

  • nice video! :)

  • @ilog0008 THANKYOU!!

  • @DIVRITE you must have driven real fast to get him another go around

  • this engineer is desperate to leave Jacksonville. The way he is smoking, he wants to leave the state of Florida by nightfall.

  • super fast for a train with a million tons...i think the have to aply the brake 3 hours before the stop completely

  • That's not fast compared to French freight trains.

  • @Jean793 The French?? are you kiddin me. The last time the French did anything fast was when they surrendered to the germans in WW2. Buttt the french resistance did stop a train load of french artworks that the germans were trying to steal. The french fleet came to our rescue during the american revolution 6 months late. butttt the y did help force cornwallace surrender!!!!!

  • @DIVRITE The European railways are much better than the American railways... offenced about his comment?

  • @ErikHartog your right,, gas is not 8 dollars here yet so we are slow to use mass transit. we rely on cars to much. in europe most everything is close by and a short distance so you can take the train. here all roads lead to rome or new york ,tampa LA atlanta etc, we do have a solid interstate system . by the way they made a movie in 1964 called the train about the french stopping the art train. it stars Burt lancaster,, one of the greats,, and the train is one of my favorite flics.

  • @DIVRITE But in your opinion, the US railway system is better, but that isn't true because you use cars more often ...

  • @ErikHartog I'm not offended by an incorrect statement. What? European passenger trains are fast? Okay, but the Amtrak Acela travels up to 150 MPH. American freight trains are longer and heavier than European freight trains and move more stuff. So, how are European railroads "better"?

  • @Jemalacane Why European railroads are better? - If you miss a train in Europe, you just have to wait 15 minutes before the next one arrives, in the US you sometimes have to wait a day. - What does the size matter of a cargo train? They are twice as small as yours OK, but they drive 4 times more often a day. - Our trains are usually powered by catenary (electricity), you guys use fuel. - In Europe, you can get almost anywhere by train, in the US you often have to rent a car.

    Want more? -

  • @ErikHartog The more freight you move with one train the better. The reason we don't have as good of passenger service is because it's not very profitable. You use catenary? Well, if the power plants which provide electricity to the catenary burn fossil fuel, it's not much of an advantage.

  • @Jemalacane Quote: "Well, if the power plants which provide electricity to the catenary burn fossil fuel, it's not much of an advantage."

    IF

We have shorter trains for one reason: Safety

  • @ErikHartog Once you get beyond a certain length, all safety benefits acquired by a shorter train are forfeit.

  • @Jemalacane The experts who decided this don't agree :-)

  • Comment removed

  • Indeed. See :

  • @Jean793 French passenger trains are enormously fast. But, I am pretty sure your freight trains are not as fast as this. Even if they are, they aren't as heavy!

  • @Jemalacane That's true. It's a big difference, in my country you rarely see more that 60 carriages. And... most of the freight trains are not so fast. Anyway, the fastest freight train here travels with 50 mph.

  • @Jean793 Its compaired to Normal US Passenger train

  • IS THIS "SUPER" FAST ??

  • thats not fast compare to alot of Aussie freight trains

  • WOW...

  • exactly 100 boogies.

and 5 engines running that massive train

  • Wonder what track speeds csx is licensed for through there (arr specs)

  • @kae4466 If you look at the post here some of the csx people have commented about that. i think its 60mph

  • you are so leet. I would be like HEALL YEASSS if i saw a grown man partying over a train. I would do the same thing. You are the definition of awsome

  • @CoolKat566 Thx man.. with all the junk happening in the world you gotta have some fun somehow!!!

  • YO DUDE YOU ACCIDENTLY HAVE CAPS LOCK ON

  • I've noticed over the years that CSX freights have improved their speed to the point of running as fast as cars now...55 MPH is not uncommon. On the Philly sub...I have had freights excelerate away from me....and then pass me on I-95 and I was going the limit!

  • slow train watch german freights on the rhine line then u see what´s a fast freight it wents with 120km/h

  • NO NEED TO YELL, WERE RIGHT HERE.

  • @CityFolk120 SOME OF OUR BROTHERS CANT SEE

  • I think your caps lock is broken.

  • @alphlife NOPE

  • Very impressive sextet!!

  • Wow. That is a fast freight train.

  • I watch few times this movie

Look from 1:05 movie start going faster like 1.4 times :) camera jumping to many times but nice effect :)

  • This is a very exciting video. I mean all transitions in the video blend really nicely. The excitement in you voice while providing intro moving onto junction bells then the howling horns of the train and the gradual yet power entry of the train till the end of the video. I have added it to my FAVOURITES.

  • is it your phone cam?? coz the result is nice!! You did a good job!!

  • @digimanpk KODAK EASY SHARE DIGITAL CAMERA AND THX

  • awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That crossing needs gates cuz crossings like these give people the attempt to beat the train to the crossing.

  • @CSX2665 THERES NOT ENOUGH TRAFFIC ESPECIALLY NOW.

  • @DIVRITE the train was not going that fast.and however people see the flashing lights and might be too stupid to just drive through da crossing even though the train itself is not coming or it's coming around the blind corner, people are so stupid at these crossings especially when the lights are flashing.

  • Wooo-eee!!

  • I wonder how much energy is in that train. Damn.

  • @olsonr EACH LOCO IS ABOUT 4000 HP.

  • @DIVRITE the last 2 LOCO's were AC6000CW's which have 6000 HP and i saw 2 dash-9s (4400HP) and 2 sd40s (4000HP)

  • that train is going a good deal faster than 50mph, that's all i'm gonna say.

  • @shekkythebastard THANKYOU,THANKYOU,THANKYOU

  • haullen ass!

  • Is this In Mississippi?

  • @GangBoxer NO NEAR LAKE CITY FL. WEST OF JACKSONVILLE

  • It's 60mph

  • @takencharge25 AND HOW DO YOU KNOW ,YOU WERENT THERE!!

  • In Germany are only 700 meter trains allowed.

  • u should see the csx's in my town, they make this look like a slug!

  • Make a video of one!

  • i'll try, i mostly do NS

  • 50 mph is the speed limit for manifests

  • Thats maybe 40 mph. Ive seen ones that are going about 60+ mph.

  • im in a hurry and dont know why lol

  • They're trying to get somewhere. lol

  • Impressive train.

Could have produced a better video by firstly using a tripod and secondly cutting out the crap comments completely and lastly by actually videoing the whole train instead of wagon by wagon up close.

  • hahahaha u fight and then give in? wtf ahahahaha

  • they go this fast through my town all the time

  • that wasnt fast

cuz your vid is longer than my qr freight vid

    so your train is slower

  • Why they use 6 locs on this train, no mountains in Florida, I never saw 6 locson trains crossing the Rocky Mountains in Canada, even if the trains were longer than this one.

  • They ship locos bacl and forth from waycross Ga. where they get serviced ,painted or removed from service like old U boats. you can see in some of my vids the old swithchers that are in some consists. thx for looking!!!

  • trains speed up and slow down along their way just as cars do...they always look slower than what they are because of their size.just like a passenger jet landing that looks like its standing still when it must do about 170 or so to not stall..keep up the good work

  • Thats an excellent point!! thx so much for the kind words. I took my camera out yesterday but its been slim pickens lately.

  • Nice Vid...Yea the video just doesn't do justice in how fast that really was. There's nothing like the thrill of a fast freight blowing by in close proximity.

  • thx for the nice comment. they have been beatin me up here latley.

  • I know what u mean....i wrote graffiti on freight trains for many years and still nothing compares to the feeing of having one of those beasts pass by you close

  • awesome nice power 6 locomotives

  • that would be sweet to see a 5-6 engine train near detroit........only 2 at the most

  • hope things improve for you folks up there!!!

  • 60mph tops

  • when i caught this train to pass it she was doing 70!!!

  • Limit for freight is 60, I doubt the engineer would break limit by 10. Intermodal on the other hand is 70

  • that horn sounds so ominous!

  • Haha, I saw a boxcar door open. At that speed, I'm not sure how safe that is...

  • the hobo fell out!!

  • in lapine oregon i don't why but the trains fly by at 70-75 in a 45mph speed zone on the BNSF truck subdivision and no if anyone asks amtrak does not come through here only freight

  • Freight locos are not rated above 70mphs

  • no i ive seen one go 75 mph

  • Don't care what you think saw freight engines are not to exceed 70mph. Unless you was in the cab looking at the speedometer you have no idea how fast it was going. 60 over a frog is rough enough, couldn't imagine 75mph

  • No conductor would let a train hit 75 with out shooting the brakes.

  • now who made you the train expert, besides the BNSF has different rules and speed zones than the UP and CSX ,NS ect. i maybe 15 almost 16 years old I loved trains when i 1 month old and i started to study about trains ( trains, subdivisions the speed limits restrictions singnal and more) since i was 3 years old. so don't think you know more than me just becuase your older than me i got to drive a train a few times. GOT IT!!!!!!

  • It's lil punks like you that we real T&E employees like myself just cannot stand!! You sit around and read your books and know nothing about the industry. If you know speed limits you would know 1all freight locos are restricted to a max speed of 70!! At the end of the day you will still be a wannabe that knows nothing. I know more than you because I am an employee. A real T & E employee not because I am older. Tried your best but you failed. Go back to ur books.

  • i still know more

  • plus i know becuase i own a real police radar it showed it was going 75 mph

  • lol your a looser. Show's how much of a looser you are to say u know more than an employee. Get a life instead of following folks around while they work. Hey go get some pussy maybe then you'll grow a pair looser. Let the real railroaders do the work.

  • Comment removed

  • ok look we got off on the track im sorry for arguing with you do you accept

  • just cause you work for the railroad means nothing cause you probably work in a yard or only go out about 200 miles from your home so you know only what the company teaches you and what you experience in that area. i thought the same thing when i worked for UP but now that i am a rail fan i know a hell of a lot more than most of those guys who worked back with f units know. most of those guys have never been off there home tracks.

  • You are an idiot. I hate rail fans.

  • your mamas an idiot

  • And what's your point? At the end of the day I'm still right, you are still wrong, and you are the one that couldn't cut it as a railroader and had to run off to be a low life foamer. Rail Fans are cool, foamers are sad.

  • oh yes how sad that i chose a life in college earning a higher degree so that i may one day run the railroad instead of riding the trains like an underpauid switchman like you. not every body wants to work an hourly wage and be the common american loser. Trains are cool but i would rather run them from in that big office than from a hot railyard so why dont you get back to work doing what you do before that guy in the nice suit in the big offic fires your sad ass.........buddy

  • Far from underpaid, and far from a switchman, I do not work for UP. Second, not only do i have my degree, and i have my pilots license. So check this buddy u continue go foam at trains, and remember why u couldn't cut it in one of the best paying jobs in America. Yes go sit in your big office lmao u pussy.

  • why do u hate railfans? whats wrong with them?

  • WEIRS

  • actually ive seen at least 10 locos come threw houston with the speedometer that goes to 80 and i work in settagast yard next to the hump.

  • Damn dude that things flying.

  • wonder how long that would take to stop... My chick works for CSX.. according to her the juice train and amtrak do not have to obey speed limits.

  • wel they have to obey speed limits. amtrak cant do over 80

  • amtrak or juice train don't slow down for construction like others do

  • If there is a slow order they have no choice. Also most MOW foremans usually clear the train true the limits at max speed allowed for the train.

  • yes they do they just dont go as slow

  • Yes, Amtrak does travel faster than 80 in certain corridors. 150 MPH in the Northeast Corridor and 90 MPH on the Pacific Surfliner in California.

  • usually its over 79

  • That is absolutely not true.

  • yeh, she only works for a railroad so I guess he has no idea what she is talking about

  • So do I!! And you are right she has no idea what she is talking about if she told you that.

  • Great video. Thanks

  • no ,, thank you for looking!!!!

  • It's not that fast.... but it is picking up speed

  • Six engines, wow!

  • your right, he slowed down some and speeded up again. like I said he blew through macclenny like a tornado.

  • awesome. thumbs-up

  • thanks.

  • cool

  • thanks.

  • youre very very welcome im a very big train fan especially this vid its awesome..

  • yeah, I have seena lot of trains thru the years but this one will always be the scary one especially at the gas station and the looks on eveybodys faces, like what the heck!!!!!!!

  • It looked to be doing about 55-60 in the video.

  • mine is faster in my area i will [ut one up soon if the train has not stopped for the inter section for the semi-local

    instersec

  • damn thats alot of power!

  • Super cool ! Thanks for posting.

  • thx

  • WOW! Nothing excites me more than a speeding frieght train! Do they really go faster than 70?

  • Not as fast as the Amtrak Acela

  • Was that 6 locos??

  • yes

  • woo!!

  • Freight going more than 70mphs? Every freight loco i've been in says do not exceed 70mph even the UP locos I have been in. Also only trains allowed to go 70 on CSX are intermodal trains so if he was going 70 and if he was to be caught the conductor and engineer will be on the streets. HOw do i know? I have all csx timetables oh and i'm a conductor.

  • @Ejaymd11 I NEVER SAID HE WAS GOING MORE THAN 70. MAYBE MY SPEEDOMETER WAS OFF IN MY CAR A BIT BUT I COULDNT BELIEVE IT WHEN IT WAS 68-70. HE DIDNT GO OVER

  • i had to get ahead of it to get this shot,

ok bill when i say so drive tha truck infront of it, BILL!

    put down tha damn beer.........

    ok go bill GO!!! noooooooooooooooo!!!!!

    my beer!!!!!!!!!!!

  • one more time.I was getting gas in macclenny right by the tracks and all of a sudden thers this roar and everybody looks up like what the heck, it this a tornado or something,so its this train blowing thru town so fast that he was gone by the time I got back in the truck.then the chase was on. when I finally caught him he was doing 70 mph. then he slowed down and in the video he speeded back up . thx for looking

  • Really good - thanks.

  • BOAM! Damn that was fast!

  • That isn't really all that fast. You should see the BNSF trains that roll through Hereford, TX. Those babies hit 85+! Through town no less; the gates drop when they are a mile away. People still die from them though.

  • WOW! How fast was that baby going?

  • a few miles back it wasa doing 70 and I had to hustle to get ahead of it!!

  • theres a 80 mph stretch interchange in illinios thats fats !

  • Man thats some serious horsepower!!Man love those speedy frieghters:)

  • yeah i think this line runs by my house about 2 hours from their i filmed a train that looked about the same Nice Vid btw!

  • jacksonville my home town

  • nice!

  • the sound of a train is so fuckin awsome the roar and rumble of the cars like at 142 and 143..awsome noice

  • It has 6 engines.

  • In the usa each 90 min hits a train a car or truck.

  • Thats was cool I counted 4 eng and 99 cars NICE

  • slow slow slow

The german freigth trains drive more than

    80mph !!!

  • Hey dude, german freight trains not as heavy as american freight trains

  • Plus, American trains are better.

  • Talk about highballing! No hills in FL, so there's nothing to stop them but curves and other trains. I wish we had a few of these going thru our lines, but it's just too curved.

  • 6 locomotives @ 60 MPH, not bad, not bad...

BTW- that crossing signal solar powered?

  • yes it is solar.
