  • Cenk you have great points (Crossing the Rubicon). Just thought you should take a look at your captions, they are hilarious, and for something so serious, I wonder who did them and if they are counter intuitive to your purpose.

  • all of u know something mother fucking bush entered iraq to get its oil. american basterd soilders try to protect stealing oil from iraq killing civilians. americans are beggers with balls in their mouth. they depend on middle east oil. and other stuff. a day will come where american born and its mother fucking anthem basterds would be found guilty in front of their own people.

  • Destroying America is probably the only way for developing countries to grow into strong nations. They are preventing humanity from developing itsself for the sake of their power.

  • WW3 started in 2000

  • Oh what a frikin suprise! there was I thinking it was all about WMD's and the war on terror!

  • people r stuped it is about the oil fuck the main strem media

  • See the book, The Price of Empire, by J. William Fulbright, former head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The book was published in 1986, after Reagan had sold America on HItler's political platform and held office for a term. He warned Americans about what the Republicans were doing to this country in that book. If anyabody was listening, not enough people were. I met the man not long before he died and have reason to believe he did not die of natural causess.

  • Tell baby Bush he can go fight to get his damn oil! I aint gonna go fite fer his oil!

  • of course the war was about oil

WMDs was the excuse to go into iraq...when iraq didnt have any!?

  • nicely put

  • ummm....false info here. there has only been one public bid for the wells in southern Iraq and it as a floop........

  • I ran out of characters..anyway..the point is..if you are sooo free. Can you have a beer in your own front porch?? I lived there so I know..they treat you like little kids...The USA is really a comunist country...with no freedom...the only people that live comparable to Spain is the people living in expensive high class cities in Southern OC or San Francisco...and guess what...it was stablished by spaniards...Junipero Serra...etc..Anyway..Americans need to wake up..its time.

  • same goes for canada it is normal for kids to attempt bush partys and only get a slap on the wrist and i know many people who drink in public as long as you arent being violent or disruptive you can have public drunkenees and its RETARTED that you cant be drunk in public at all

  • @sfumato1002 You lived here and couldn't have a beer on your front porch? My ass! I don't have any problems with that what the hell are you talking about are you under 21? maybe that was your problem

  • Thats why Spain got out of Iraq...the people in Spain are not stupid like in the USA..they demanded the troops out...and voted for another president who took the troops out...that is the difference in culture between a Spain an the USA...Spaniards have more history, the society is richer and mor intelligent...Americans think they live in a country of freedom...poor fools..see..in Spain..citizens have free healthcare..We can even drink wine or beer outside..do you have that freedom? only in Vegas

  • @sfumato1002 No they ran like cowards to appease the terrorists.

  • Yes the wor about Oil, If anyone that says it's not is either Brainwashed, Or not right in the head.

  • If Obbama dosn't charge bush with war crimes, an even more painful punishment would be an executive order that forces all U.S. oil companies out of iraq!

  • Oil companies are behind 911! Wake up people! Wake up!

  • " ...it's a good thing that we have some good Samaritans" LFMAOO!!!!n ahahahahah that was hilarious

  • I have a question. What companies should be in Iraq helping them extract the oil from the ground in Iraq in a way that maximizes efficiency? Do you honestly think that Russian companies could it better and that their motives are better than American Companies?

  • Answer: Iraqis and Iraqi companies should do it. USA are using excuses to pillidge oil and profits out of the ocupation. (Sounds like the Nazi's and france to me). GIVE THEM BACK THEIR OIL AND THEIR COUNTRY.

my question is: What would you do if another country occupied your town?

leave it to them they have had oil for hundreds of years so i think they could work out an efficiant way of getting it out of the ground.

  • Newsflash the Iraq oil ministry has never been truly independent. Iraqis are going to work in the industry, they elected to allow people to come in an maximize efficiencies a trade off they chose to make. Iraqis are in control of their country now. It isn't 2006 the war has been won. To answer your question if I lived under a Stalinist dictator I would welcome people coming into to remove him and protect me from religious nuts trying to rule me. Much like the Iraqis have elected to do.

  • Er So if the war has been one. why are troops still dying out there? 11 US troops were killed only last month. why dont you tell their familys the war is over and won.

And the oil. All this crap about helping Iraq is known as PROPERGANDER this gets public support from sheeple like YOU. And if someone came to liberate you from tirany by arresting all the able bodied males and bombing them from miles away i would say thats a different kind of help. Iraqis want their country back give it to them

  • Troops are dying there because there is still work to be done it isn't over but its won. Kinda like when there is 10 seconds on the clock in a game and the score is 100-5. Yes if those were the steps to winning that war I would accept it, just as one side of my family dropped bombs on the other side in WW2 they realize war involves casualties and ugliness. Iraqies are getting their country back. They would have had it given to terrorist if you had your way and given up.

  • There were no terorists in Iraq before US occupied. saddam through them all out. The Iarq invasion was allways a one sidded war. A bit like a tank going in to fight a bloke with a knife, the tank will take him out in no time. But despite the huge Tech difference the war does continue as the people want freedom from USA and to make own choices. Saddam was Evil, but so is the Bush regime. The war will never actually end. it will just take more of your freedoms away in the name of SECURITY.

  • @ant10011001 *threw*

  • What was the rush to "save" the iraqi people? why Iraq? why now? Why not Darfur, much more in need of aid. what about Congo people dying every day. why not indonisia when the the riots happend. why not Evil North Korea. There loads of much more worthy causes and people who need to be saved more so than Iraq.

Why? I'll tell you why. USA TAKES THE OIL. USA SELLS THE OIL ALL IN $ not Euros. its all about profits not people. Save Iraq from terrorists! what Propergander bullshit.

  • What Rush? I think those 12 years of sanctions having their oil stolen by the UN including Europeans enriching Saddam and driving the people into poverty. Iraq has a 79 billion $ surplus now because of America. You would rather have Saddam have that to build more palaces torture chambers, and spare change to throw towards terrorist including Palestinian suicide bombers. There are tones of worthy causes and dictators to overthrow, that isn't evidence of some evil plot by America.

  • 12 Yeas! you mean, US saying there were WMDs in iraq and putting pressure on the UN to offer support, sending in inspectors and still no evidence of WMDs. ANY HERE ERR NO WHAT ABOUT OVER THERE. NOPE NO WMDs. lets keep looking! then even tho there was no WMDs US still says they have WMDs and invades anyway and still TODAY no WMDs. just a shit load of oil. and funny how US jumps in to sell the oil for them. saying that its helping them, give Iraq a 9% cut of profits.

    BUSH SHOULD BE IN CHAINS!

  • Actually I wish the US were more openly imperialistic and allow U S oil companys to take the Iraqi oil fields back. Oil fields they explored and developed with their technology and than was stolen by way of nationalization. Our 'villany' must compete with outright despots, communist propagandists and their hired assasins, and the various terrorist zealots supported and financed by the likes of this bucket mouth imbecile.

  • "Our Villa[i]ny must compete..." is the

mindset/propaganda our leaders used in WW2 by joining with Stalin, who was a Communist despot and a mass murderer. It was also rationalization for dropping atomic bombs on Japanese civilians. If you do the same as the bad-guy, you too become the bad-guy. We have no right, God-given or otherwise, to think we are above or immune from this fundamental human equation. As for "stolen technology by way of nationalization..." The profit paid for it long ago.

  • Saddam through out the dollar as well as the oil companies he sold Iraqs oil. Reservs in Euros and wanted to cut American companies out of lucrative deals, can anyone help me. Isn't Iran trying to do the a similar thing?

  • well yes cos they were selling oil in Euros the US petro cycle would end (a never ending cycle of return for the US). Iran want to sell their oil their way, not in doller but in Euro. Why cant they? its their oil.

Who has the right to dictate how other naitions sell their energy.

  • So this is why i'm paying 2 dollar gas!

  • "I just want you to know that,

when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace."

    -Bush, June 18, 2002

    LOL! DA!

  • when the war 1st started people said "NO BLOOD FOR OIL" and look at what happened WE LOST A LOT OF OUR BLOOD FOR OIL. what a fucking coincidence.

  • I can't wait to obliterate theses companies and their CEOs. =)

  • Boycott BP, Exxon Mobil, Shell and Total.

    tinyurl . com / 6gwqrh

  • Oil= very valuable resource

Lies= very valuable trait 4 politicians

    War= inevitable & valuable option

Islam= being demonized by west for its extremist and terrorist radicals (bin Laden)

WMD= the Islamic terrorists and every country in the Middle East that aids terrorists wants or already has plenty of WMD,in violation of U.N. orders.

Bush = get the oil & control terrorism, kills 2 birds w/ 1 stone. Brilliant political tactic

  • The reason why the "free" press asks no questions is simple.

    they are owned not free.

And maybe it is not the EXACT same people that own the oil companies who own the press BUT i'm sure they know each other. Are'nt rich and powerful people friends with others like themselves? i would think so. Cuz i sure ain't meet any oil executives on my block.

Don't they meet at fancy-rich-boy-country clubs for "backroom deals"? (just dont call it a "conspiracy" they dont like that word).

  • this was his best run

  • oil is only a background economical issue as a war booty for war powers, the real reason for invasion is global zionism and jewish domination. According to the jewish neocons invasion of Iraq was made as a "stategic national goal of Israel". Neither issue will be brouht up any time soon as they lead one to another

  • That was passionate and as real as it gets Cenk, preach on.

  • Breaking From AP: "Iraq AWARD CONTRACTS TO 41 COMPANIES"

oh, I thought it was just Exxon and Shell?,

I thought it was just Bush's buddies?

I thought there was no bid contracts?

Go to Drudge you Blithering idiots,

What a bunch of absolute morons you are

I literally cannot stand you Bastards

  • speakmymind01, whats got your goat?

  • its all about the feces, i farted

  • Dumb ass

  • Oh it wasn't about oil. It was about a very bad man named Saddam who had to be hung for being such a very bad man. It's well worth all the sacrifice of all Americans to have gotten rid of such a very bad man...not about the oil...

  • So got rid of the very bad man and the country is even more fucked. Why don't they leave now?

Because they stay for the oil. The 'very bad man' was only removed for oil because he stood up to oil companies. When he nationalized it in the 1980s these fucking 4 greedy oil criminals had to leave.

  • I was being sarcastic, which doesn't really translate in print very well without typing *sarcasm*. Of course it's about the oil, but more important, and what never gets mentioned in the news it that it's about petro dollars as well. All the world's oil was being traded for the dollar. Then Iraq AND Iran decided to use the Euro as a new petro currency, there by weakening the dollar. This is why they want to go into Iran next, to restore the dollar as its oil exchange currency AND take their oil.

  • lol. yeah the sarcasm is hard to see because lots of ignorant people on Youtube really talk like that.

  • "The press in this country...the mass media...is fundamentally broken".

  • Here a little lesson in oil 101 for you Libs

American oil companies are public companies, you can buy 100k shares at the open of the bell on wall street Monday Morning at 9:30A.M

28% of Mutual Funds, 41% of Pensions

have oil stocks in their portfolio,

when they make money you can too, from increase in stock price or from dividends.

  • Oil Companys create poverty at the pump and wealth on wall street. They rob from the poor and give to the wealthy.

  • How does Iraqis profit from them, oh sorry you mean only American libs.

Gee, thanks for sharing the knowledge of how to feed on the rotting carcass after killing innocent people, just like repubs have been doing for so long, with one hand and thumping their bible with other.

  • Now, Venezuela(Hugo Chavez) just nationalized the oil companies, meaning it's the states' not the peoples', just like Saddam did 30 years ago, thats why he had 5 Presidential Palaces and the people lived in slums

  • Speakmymind

When it belongs to the State it belongs to the people.

  • Yes state money ends up in government. It's not bad actually. Oil is nationalized in many Opec countries and the people geta lot of it in services. People in Iraq worse off now btw and the US will be too once oil keeps climbing.

  • real question for you: who took over the oil after Saddam kicked the oil companies out? and does Exxon and them being there create more jobs for Iraqis?

  • Gt

The oil wells were Nationalized. They were given back to the people of Iraq. No they don't create more jobs. Oil companys create poverty!

  • I was talking to an Iraqi who now lives in America (I was giving him a ride to Dearborn, MI) and he said Iraq used to be rather prosperous and a nice place to live, he than explained to me that halfway through Saddam's rule, he started to rape the people of all their assets and basically ruined the country. So I think restoring things to pre-Saddam would be a good thing.

  • Now we know why McCain wants 58 bases in Iraq. He wants to protect Exxon. "My friends", the war was never about WMD's, it was about oil.

  • Score one for the oil companies. Nicely done. Round of applause is in order. Welcome to the free market, Iraq. Now please bend over the barrel so we can enjoy going in and out of you

  • You mean to say we can donate our investment to that Organized Crime Syndicate that sits on WALL STREETS, NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE. The same ones that gave us Enron? the same ones that just finished robbing the people of their investment in a home? The Bear Sterns criminal types? Do you mean we could go and invest in these criminals?

  • no bid contracts have become synonymous with the bush administration and his cronies. fuckin bastards who are always promoting capitalism and the free market never allow any competition when it comes to war profiteering. because they want all there friends and lobbyists to make all the money from the government contracts.

  • PREACH IT!!!!!

  • Well, now you know why Pres. Bush said the war will pay for itself.

  • Oil shortage or lack of refineries is why were paying $4 at the pump? Big oil couldn't project 5 years ago that we would need more refineries. We took over a country full of oil and there is a oil shortage? I think these high gas prices are very convienant excuse for big oil to be allowed drilling offshore or in the arctic. Bush must think were all really stupid. Republicans and democrats 2 corrupt parties dishing out the same shit.

  • YouTube search Zeitgeist.

  • and they arent gonna pump anything. theyll keep the supply low as shit. get control of it and sit on it. fuckers.

I think the media did a horrible job for us...and mission accomplished for corporate america as usual.

we need to take back the media and the country...this is way beyond out of control.

  • OF COURSE the press is broken. Right wing news commentators like Michael Reagan can threaten an individual with death threats, ask for the listeners to assassinate him, and offer to pay for the bullets and not a single media - paper or broadcast will touch the story with a 10 meter cattle prod.

And then, Youtube has the balls to cancel the threatened party's account when he posts a snippet from the broadcast.

Total bought and paid for media... including Youtube.

  • why should the american media put in any effort when they know they're reporting to idiots

  • Cenk, excellent analysis!

  • cenk is awesome.

  • The movie Syriana helps to address this issue at its core about America and its desire to run a pipeline through the middle east. The director went on the Henry rollins show and further clarified the issue

  • I know people are gonna tell me to go fuck myself but the only mainstream media persone I've seen to raise topics like these is Keith Olbermann. Unfortunately no Republicans will go on his show. I guess its because of situations like when he almost told the president to shut the fuck up. He said shut shut the hell up but right before he said hell, he took a pause. A big pause

  • Why don't you start asking the questions you want other people to ask?

  • That's what American soldiers died for. Corporate greed. It would be nice if they could come home to .50c /gal gas now that they risked their asses for oil, but instead gas by next year will be 6 or 7 $/gal. And the rightwing wants to kill the messengers!

    Shame on America.

  • The Democrats have gone full-out Hugo Chavez in their desire to nationlize the oil industry. I hope a new McCarthy rises in the ranks of the Republican Party to expose these Communists.

  • The Republicans have gone fuss-out Mussolini to hijack our government with their fascist puppets of Exxon, Haliburton and other corporate swine. We just want our damn country back from you immoral, unprincipled predatory pricks.

  • Yeah, the problem isn't with neocons and big business, it's communism. I swear, you've got your head so far up your arse, you can tastle your own bile

  • Continue to watch the price climb and see if gets any better. You have made the idiotic corporations who don't give 1 cent to the country's people very happy.

  • Wow so you think America needs some more Joe McCarthy type figures? I think you should open your mind and pick up a history book.

  • The war was about oil? I thought it was about spreading freedom and democracy.

But seriously, the only MSM I see reporting this is MSNBC- Olbermann talks about it.

  • I drink YOUR milkshake! I DRINK IT UP!!!!!!

  • So dose this mean our gas prices will go down soon?

  • Maybe, but it means the oil companies will be more wealthier.

  • Always the same.

America installs murderous dictator in the mid-east through a cia orchestrated coup, or by aiding in the assassination of a popular leader

Once the dictator is in power he runs the country like a family buisness keeping some of the wealth, while giving rest away to the Western(mainly American)companies

If that murderous dictator plays ball, he is an "ally" like the Saudi royals. If he tries to stop America plundering his nation's wealth like Saddam did, he becomes an enemy

  • Human rights overseas don't matter one iota to Washington

What matters is subservience to the US, allowing its companies to access foreign resources

On a deeper level, the US are very aware of the economic threat Mid-East poses given its massive national resources

America goes out of its way to ensure that political and economic progress NEVER occurs there

They can let puny regions like Dubai develop, but NEVER will they let the large countries like Egypt, SaudiArabia, Iran, Iraq etc develop

  • @Eye0fTheStorm

Human rights mattered even less to Saddam

  • It's no joke. This kind of creepy crap is how the world works and we are too scared to talk about it.

  • the media in this country is fundamentally broken

  • cenk...watch your back man...you hitting vains...and some woint like it...fuck bush i really hope he dies a painfull death.

  • Cenk, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to find out that Big Oil and other insanely profitable companies like Pharmecuticals secretly own the media. If they can buy politicians then certainly they can buy the powers that be at news stations.

  • "I am, I am superman, and I can do anything."

    R.E.M. & The Birch Society

(P.S. 9/11 was an inside job. I know this, but that doesn't mean evil-Superman is real.)

  • "insanely profitable companies like Pharmecuticals secretly own the media"

Secretly? Not at all. It's called advertising. Have you ever wondered why companies like Boeing or Lockheed Martin? buys ad space on CNN?

  • John McCain wants to give $1.8 billions in tax giveaways to ExxonMobil.

  • Hey guess what! You've got a McCain advertisement on your page! He's watching you! ;-)

  • mission finally accomplished

  • Anyone who thought it was about "the freedom of the Iraqi people", should wake up and smell the bullshit that's being thrown in their faces.

  • I think about 46 people still think this in the US. That is 46 too much!

we're in it to control Eurasia

go read The Grand Chessboard by Brzezinski

  • The war was not about the oil. It was about putting Saddam Hussian out of power. He is the public enemy of mankind!

  • Correction, public enemy of private U.S. corporate interests.

  • kryptokreations13

you do know that saddam was made an enemy then taken out...just like how i would give you some candy then punch you in the face..you're being used!!

  • "Fundamentally Broken" is understated ... Totally Corrupt is more like it.

  • an old roomie of mine said this war was all about the money the moment 9/11 happened he said i knew this was gonna happen the moment bush got elected and now they'll start a war for money.he was right on.

  • Its a corprate journalism and journalist make millions, so their companies like GE, Newscorp etc make billions.

  • The press gets their news from the Ministry of Truth. Trust the party. If Pravda says it's true, then it's true. Pravda is always right. Why else would it be called "pravda"? The Soviet Union aint got nothing on us, man.

  • GOP = Gas and Oil Profiteers

  • I'm am against illegal war, but I am for high oil prices. The American people are idiots, because they only will conserve if gas prices quadruple, so I have no sympathy. They don't even deserve Obama's tax cuts, even though they will get it, because they are persistently and willfully stupid. We should have had a 500% tax on gasoline 20 years ago. Screw Americans at the gas pump, I don't care.

  • It's not about getting the Iraqi oil. It's about keeping the Iraq oil OFF the market, for Saudi Arabia (and possibly future China), to raise prices and profits. Also, trillions of dollars in war profiteering, of the most blatant and rapacious kind ever seen.

    (cont.)

  • I've heard it said that the difference between Republicans and Democrats comes down to who you trust more to take care of social programs (like schools, feeding the poor, health care) ... the government or business? What I hear you saying is that both are to be mistrusted.

  • That one could have been debated, 12 years ago. Now we've got Katrina, NCLB, Fema, etc. to answer the question for us.

  • Cenk needs a show on MSNBC.

  • cenk needs a show on msnbc, cnn, fox, cspan, cspan2, nickelodeon, espn, that random spanish channel that nobody watches...

  • I watch Telemundo ;P

  • you should watch univision, they're hella liberal

    first learn spanish tho, lol

  • 100 years in Iraq.

George W McCain has promised to keep American troops in Iraq for 100 years.

    100 years in Iraq.
