WOW i have a uncal that lives in goderich and it's a beautiful town and what happened was bad but always remember joplin so trust me it chould have been worse then this.
ahha one time im outta town and i miss a freaking tornado... nothing ever happens when im home and when i leave for a week i miss one of the biggest things in a long time...
this is a great town I am from Windsor. I have been here in Goderich now for a month and will be here until sometime around march. The company I work for is doing security in a important area in town. I am happy for the way we have been welcomed to your town to lend our services
its scary how bad our weather has gotten in the last two years, I came to this town very often, my highschool isn't far from there. I wish the only the best for Godrich
My heart goes out to the Town and people of Goderich!!! I had just visited there a week ago Monday with family! We thought it was so pretty! It will be again:)
I played at Goderich Festival 3 years in a row, and came to know the town and it's people. I made many friends there, and this is just so shocking and very sad.
i just drove through goderich on my way back from my cottage in tobermory, and all i have to say is that it's incredible that there was not more people injured. I saw devastation in goderich that i thought only existed in movies. Stay strong!
thank so much for creating this~ absolutely beautiful and heart breaking at the same time. hope you dont mind but i have shared this to my facebook, reminding all that donations are needed to the Goderich disaster relief and can be made at any chartered bank. This will change out town forever but Goderich will rebuild and be stronger and prettier than ever!
The third house shown in this video was my friends. It was beside the lumberyard and had tons of lumber and massive trees covering the house and property. We started to dig it out on Tuesday morning with 8 adults and 5 boys and thought we would be there for days. Within a few hours at least 40 people had just shown up with work gloves and pitched in. At lunch time many more came with food to feed the volunteers. THAT is what this town is about. We are blessed with each other and we will rebuild.
@themoniquelynn I spent a lot of time in that house growing up. One of my friends growing up lived there. I would cross through that yard going back and forth and played in that house. Small, small world.
@themoniquelynn I spent the better part of the last 15 yrs up in Godrich and surrounding area, whether b construction or trucking. I always looked forward to my runs up cuz it's so beautiful. God's country. I'm so saddened by this event and my heart goes out to all of you. You are all strong and together Godrich will rebuild.
This is a beautiful video. Beautiful in the way it was composed. I grew up in Lucknow, just 20 miles away from Goderich.I know they will rebuild but I doubt the Prettiest Town In Canada will ever be same as I remember it in my younger years. I know a lot of residents in Goderich and I pray that they escaped the wrath and devastation that this tornado created. It is amazing that the death toll was not higher. The only victim came from Lucknow, but I didn't know him. My prayers go out to them
The song I thnk goes well with the video, it has nade me come back and watch again and again! God Bless Goderich it only takes time to heal, everything will be right again.
Thank you for this video beautiful montage of my town. Not to be critical but I would suggest a more poignant musical theme might be Samuel Barbers Anangio for strings which has a more heaviness that matches my feelings.

The power of God is amazing. My girlfriends uncle was the only person who lost their life. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who were affected, which is many.
My heartfelt sympathies to the citizens of Goderich. I grew up in Exeter and alot of my friends are from Goderich. I was just there on vacation last week and went to Goderich a few times and I was in the very town square... my heart was broken to see such devastation of this precious town.
pretty incredible....I'm an OPP officer and i was on the ground at 7pm that night.... took my breath away.. hats off to the people of Goderich for keeping away from the damage. No looting or thefts...well done folks!!
My son was born in Goderich ten years ago this week. My time spent working on the square and at the North Harbour are wonderful memories of a beautiful place. Nice tribute video Jacki. It made me cry but thank you. xo
Wonderfully put together Jacki:) This is such a terrible tragedy for such a wonderful town... I had the pleasure of playing many gigs over the years in Godrich, made many friends too. Don't feel bad about deleting detrimental comments, some people just have nothing better to do, and don't worry about infringments, you will be fine.. People need to see what takes years to build and only seconds to destroy.. :( xo
Well, this was confusing to watch as this was my wedding song just a few months ago. I suppose it could be heard both ways. This is a great video, a perfect tribute.
awesome video...so crazy, I was just heading to Goderich this week to check out the historic jail tour. So sorry to all those affected. I can't imagine what everyone must be going through. My prayers go out to all of you...be strong and carry on :)
On the positive side, this storm hit at 4pm on a Sunday. If it had been any other day of the week the loss of life could have been much worse. There was an event earlier in the day in the town centre. This is one of the prettiest towns in Ontario...and it will be again. From London Ontario.
I'm removing any negative comments about the town or the people in it. This is not the place for that. (I'm also removing responses to the comments - although I am thankful to you for standing up for Goderich, the responses only lead to looking for the original comment.)
Thank you for creating this. It was so heartbreaking to watch, but it's such an important video. Goderich is my hometown and its beauty has always defied description. In time, it will be restored.
I lived there for about 10 years quite some time ago. These photos are just heartbreaking. Thank you for making and posting this. Goderich *will* rebound. (Anybody know if any organizations are taking donations?)
I live in the apartment building on west street we had just got missed. I'm so very...very glad to know that most people have come out of it with their lives, because that is irriplaceable. I can say that it is very heartbreaking to me to see how many trees, and historical buildings of the squre and around are now gone, but I do believe we will build to be better and stronger in the days and months to come. God bless Goderich and to all those who live here.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I'm glad to hear our family is fine. May God hold you close and comfort you in your time of need. GODERICH WILL BE BACK BETTER THAN EVER! THE BEST PLACE EVER..Met my husband there 37 years ago!!!!! Love you all Liette and Ernie xoxoxox
My heart goes out to all of my friends and former co-workers in the Town of Goderich. I can't believe my eyes at the total devastation of the gorgeous town square. Unbelievable. Condolences to the Lucknow family who have lost their loved one at the Salt Mine. And to all who were injured, lost possessions, their entire homes etc. ? Be strong, we are all thinking of you and doing what we can to help. Blessings to all of you brave people. You will Rise Above.
This is just so sad. We have so many memories growing up here. To see the square and surrounding streets in such a state is horrifying. To know that so many are without their homes tonight and for some time, to see the stores destroyed or badly damaged, the beautiful old trees around the square stripped and/or uprooted... it's awful! I cannot imagine what it must feel like to have survived this and to walk around and see the damage that has been done. A few minutes can cause so much destruction.
I live in Bayfield. It's frightening that this happened just minutes away from us. My heart goes out to everyone in Goderich. The community is strong and everyone will work together to get over this! :)
I live in Goderich. This video almost made me start bawling. At first there is the rush of adrenaline that comes from a really big event, but now that's wearing off and I'm starting to feel the pain of losing the town I love.
My heart is breaking at this video. I was lucky to live in this town for a couple of years and I loved it. The lake, courthouse square, all those unique shops. It is the town to which I measure any other towns I may live in too. I hate seeing this beautful town torn apart like this.
Our thoughts and Prayers are with all the Families in Goderich :'( Hoping there is a strong circle of friends and family and community to lean on...we are going to contribute as much as we can as we camp near you all. All of our love !
Breaks my heart to see this. I have family there and am glad to hear they are safe. Goderich has a great history. I remember driving around the square all the time when I lived there some 20 years ago.
I still find it hard to believe I grew up in clinton and my parents owed the Laundromat on west st when it was still a laundromat. Just seeing such a beautiful place reck breaks my heart
I'm still in shock over this, it's so sad. :( I have fond memories of Goderich - we always visit in the summertime, perfect place to relax. Never thought this would happen. God bless everyone affected and well wishes for a quick recovery. Stay strong.
OMG This is terrible, I couldnt sleep because is was bothering me so much. My family has a family cottage south of godderich, and I was wondering if its all right, its, right off highway 21, so if anyone knows about that area, please tell me, it will make me so less tense once i know.
Goderich is my home away from home and so bueatiful
I live by londesbrough, the tornado went through my field, if it were 300m to the right my house would have been gone. I got lucky, but goderich didn't.. It's painful to see what a storm can do to a peaceful city like goderich.. it will never be the same... god bless Goderich.
I also lived in Goderich for a few years as a child. I remember amazing thunder and lightning storms, but nothing like this. Thoughts go out to all affected.
@JackiYo is there any possible way you can email any photos that you may have of the bank and the truck? I have only found one so far online. Add me as a friend on youtube here and I will private message you my email.
Thank you so much. Dad is home now safe and sound but the truck is still there.
My Dad was in the Scotia bank when the tornado hit...The very last picture in this video is the bank and his silver truck sitting outside. Thankfully he wasn't hurt but is still in shock. He had to hold onto the bank doors with all of his strength because the wind was trying to suck him outside and he actually saw his truck get uplifted right into the air and off of the ground and then slammed back down. It had only been 10 seconds or so before he had gotten out of the vehicle. It was impaled.
@spritzerz666 I had a picture of the impaled truck in the video originally, but took it out due to time of the song. Wow. Scary. So glad he wasn't in it. The power of the tornado is incredible.
cant believe all the damage to our loving town it used to be one of the beautifulest places i hav ever seen now its no longer what i once was, we will rebuild and repair, our community is staying strong through the harsness an we are banding together t help one another in these hard months to come. Our payers go out to those who lost everything and hope you are safe with family and friends. Lend a hand and help repair! volenteers are needed! me and my kids are safe. sarah tarbox
Thank you to all those who send best wishes. Thank you for posting. We live three blocks away and have not been allowed to go in to the worst area to help. What we have seen is devastating and this video shows it. Our family was one of the lucky ones. Prayers for those who weren't as fortunate I'm sure are greatly appreciated, it effects us all........

@lizyrose19 well i think its okay because i live right outside of Godrich and our house was okay so i think yours is okay

@lizyrose19 Your cottage should be okay, the southern end of town didn't get hit with the tornado.. It was very isolated, and very powerful.

I was in Coffee Culture right by the front window when it hit!! I saw a car fly threw the air and trees falling...then I ran for cover at the back!
