03-04 was a good season too, since they had so many stars he didnt score a lot, but his talent was thru the roof that year he made a ton of amazing shots
i'd agree if you mean in terms of points ONLY. But games aren't won and players aren't defined by just getting points. 02-03 he actually almost won mvp (i think he was 3rd).
Kobe got his team involved and was the 2nd leading scorer in the NBA that year. It was easily his best eyar.
I think 02-03 and 07-08 are really his best yearsm with the latter winning that battle. It's not all about scoring. They were best because he was great in all facets of the game.
nah not even, his 07-08 season is not his best season, not close. His best seasons are 05-06, 02-03 and 06-07. His numbers have diped this season from last season
well it aint about individual stats. in 03, 06 and 07 his #s wer the highest, but the lakers only won one playoff series combined. in 08 they went back to a chip-caliber team AND it was his mvp yr. his lower scoring in 08 from those other 3 yrs wer cuz of his decreasing selfishness
I think he doesn't want his knee to carry that extra weight on his body. Also, he did his 666 workout routine coming into the season, which was A LOT of work...I think in order for Kobe to play more seasons, he can't train and experiment with his body as much anymore. I have to admit, it was Kobe's best season of his career. Did you know he avg. 3 dunks per game?!?! Second in the league in dunks that season...amazing...

See thats what makes kobe different from jordan. U say kobe can put the stats anytime he wants. But jordan did that every night he played every game as hard as he could. Kobe doesn't have the heart at the age he is now and not putting up all the same numbers and im not talking about scoring talking about defense too, Jordan was winning Championships. Now u gonna make up an excuse for him and say he doesn't have a team when he has 3-4 guys known to lead teams. He's great but not greatest sorry.
ok bro u wanna talk about how Jordan played great defense and Kobe doesnt, well check this out, would Jordan average as many steals a game wit the hand check rule in affect? NO bcuz half his steals would be fouls, would he average as many rebounds a game wit the over the back rule? NO. bro who else on that laker roster knows how to lead teams? Odom? definently not a leader, Fisher? no way, Gasol? last time he lead a team he struggled to make the playoffs, Bynum? he's jus progressing not a leader
@Dave217 Yes jordan got steals easily with hand checking but the rule works both ways. Kobe averages more turnovers in his career and has more withOUT handchecking. It must have been harder to keep the ball. Jordan also averaged more blocks and less opposing match up points. Kobe said himself fisher was the lakers off court huddle leader and kobe lead on court. Pau knows his place and decides not to lead.
@Dave217 jordan also would average the same amount of rebounds today. Just like the over the back rule didn't exist back then jordan could steal rebounds with more ease. But he could also get the rebound taken by other players by doing over the back fouls. On the side of that jordan is still better in every statistical category.
and for u ta say that Kobe's not a leader and Jordan is, thats garbage, is Jordan a leader, sure, but he never won more than 41 games witout Pippen, and he was in the horrible eastern conference, he made the playoffs on a 30-52 record if he brought that ta Kobe's western conference, everybody would say Jordan's overrated, could he average 30 ppg in Kobe's era today yea, but his defense would go down alot, and btw, Kobe only has 1 season under 41 wins witout shaq and he was hurt that season
now dnt get me wrong im not doggin on MJ here I loved watchin him when I grew up, but ta say that Kobe cant be a leader or doesnt have the heart thats a lie, Jordan is 1 of the greatest of all time but he's not the greatest of all time either, see bcuz ok Jordan averaged 30 ppg his whole career true, but in Magic Johnsons career he averaged almost 20 ppg and only 1 season had under 10 apg, Magic's career low in apg, was Jordan's career high in apg, who made who's teammates better?
Holy fuck that dunk was far. Too bad Kobe knee took a beating with dunk like that and it's why he had 3 knee surgeries

hey shaq jumped from 10 feet also

30 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists 2 steals, 13 straight games with +35, he should have won the MVP.

he had shaq

Shaq was injured a lot that season, so that excuse doesn't fly.

yea i know, im talking about kobe winning mvp, he had shaq so he wasn't the clear choice, and the lakers only won 50 games

I agree he used speed and quickness to get to the rim and he passed the ball. I'd say kobe at his best.
ATLKing132 4 years ago 2
this was probably his 2nd best season, his best was the 05-06 season for sure
FlamesXT10 3 years ago
no his best all around season was like 02-03 he averaged 30 ppg, 6.9rpg, 5.9apg, 2.2spg
PhanatixDDH 3 years ago 2
true but 05-06 was still his best season

nah his 05-06 season was better because he averged more pts and had the 81 pt game
FlamesXT10 3 years ago
that was pretty stupid, you think about stats than about the championship.

MVP voting has nothing to do with playoffs. His ALL AROUND most efficient year was 02-03.
PhanatixDDH 3 years ago 2
nah 05-06 he was better
FlamesXT10 3 years ago
lol are u kidding me? his 07-08 season wasn't his best. His best season were 05-06 and 02-03, then probably 06-07. He was kinda shit in 07-08
FlamesXT10 3 years ago
not easily his best year, cuz he got 4th place in 06 and 3rd in 03 for mvp
plus the amazing playoff series vs the suns in 06 that they nearly won and in which he had an incredible game 4

You know why Kobe doesn't Bullk up since 02-03? His body looks so nice and it allowed him to get 7 rebounds per game in 02-03 season.

He did so because Phil criticize Kobe's rebounding prior to that year. Kobe can put up those stats anytime he watns.
