  • I say if AA works for you,Great!!!!! I do have a problem with 12 steppers that say "this is the only way to stay sober" They will go so far, that they will even tell you you are not really staying sober, even if you have been sober for years. They call it a dry drunk. They simply deny a person ccan just quit. Which is BULLSHIT!!!!!!

  • This is just silly. There actually was research done into whether AA is a cult and it was proven not to be because no one forces you to participate or stay and no one has to give up their current cultural identity in place of one offered by the community. I've been a member for two years and have yet to step inside a church to practice a religion and neither does anyone make me. If you can quit without it, good for you! AA doesn't care how you quit drinking, but if you find you can't you're wel

  • yes aa is full of lies i hate meetings

  • When will people learn? Ludes are the solution!

  • When people stop drinking they start smoking and/or overeating. They switch their stupid behaviors. That's all.

  • true the rooms are full of bullshit

  • The counselor sat there and reamed my ass and accused me of pretty much everything... by the time the hour was up he just dropped it all and pretty much said ok... could you plllllease make your check out to the New Freedom Center... 75 bucks... fuck them... and i got ordered to have to take an adult misdemeanor ACT exam... which ties in with my charge HOW???? and that costs 70 more fucking doll hairs... JEEBUS CHRIST...

  • The counselor was asking me questions about my PAST... i have one charge for possession of a controlled substance from a month ago... first charge EVER for ANYTHING never even a speeding ticket... he was going through his list and asked "any previous drug charges" to which i replied "no"... he slapped the table and screamed DONT LIE TO ME... you have TWO charges... DONT LIE TO ME... i said you were asking about PREVIOUS charges... then he cut me off and told me to not interrupt him...hmmmmm

  • @gilligan80 OK, comments like this tie into too many other tales I've either experienced or heard (or even seen). Are there attorneys out there willing to take this garbage on? AA/NA/etc. have been fought down as forced by the courts wherever they've been actually challenged from what I know so far, so why not challenge the scare tactics used by these people in other fields of law other than the Establishment Clause? I'm no victim, these steppers LOVE that mentality, but full immunity?

  • My counselor would ask me questions like I was back in the army... its like job apps who the fuck can remember all the exact dates you started and finished every job you have had... and when you cant remember off the top of your head they hold it against you... then if something doesnt match up you are lying to them and holy fuck they go crazy...

  • Holy shit i just had an eye opening experience. Its in relation to pot not drinking. But I was court ordered to go to a drug addiction counselor... would you believe that every single option on their list of available clinics were all devout chritian organizations. The counselors treated me worse than the cops that busted me and the judge at my hearing. No matter what you answer you are lying and they yell and cuss at you to get you to admit "yes, i have a problem"..

  • Its all set up to justify themselves. They yell and scream at you until you hopefully admit "yes I have a problem" in most cases people make that claim to get them to shut up or to simply take blame off themselves if they have a bigger charge... then they can say my life is out of control and marijuana is destroying it... it creates a public record that they can hold up and now justifiably make the statement "marijuana is destroying our world and heres the proof... they admit it"...

  • You should've included the part where AA opposed a drug that helps alcoholism.

  • pretty funny that the recovery programs lasted longer than your lame ass careers eh?

  • i'm a heroin addict,i was doing much better before a started going meetings i hav'nt done the steps coz they r bull shit these guys r right, now i get acostered by christians, i feel useless coz i been slowly been brainwashed, i see that religous buzz in the ppl who have been step slapped,b4 NA i was fairly stable on methadome and going college, know im fucked thx DR bob u cunt.

  • @felpen537 yer a fuckin idiot huh.. DR Bob had nothing to do with NA and you cant be clean when youre on METHADONE its a replacement you are still high dumbass...

  • @fuzzBart u miss my point i had a life b4 NA/AA there both 12 step programs dumbass i guess ur one of the croneys, btw the program did'nt make me clean it made me worse,NA/AA is a cult and i expect such a reply from a cult member u guys get so offened when some one has a opinion different to ur own.twat

  • @fuzzBart What a loads of denial in my earlier post!!! I'm sorry.

  • i just got out of a meeting and told the entire group that it's dogma based system was wrong, to which they replied... where in any of these 12 steps does it say you have to answer to a specific god.

fucking face palm. can't fix stupid

  • @TiTSxxMcGEE wow if you could read you would know its a god of your understanding.. guess stupid is your higher power lol

  • Man I hope nobody who is a real alcoholic watches this crap and stays away from AA because of it. How could AA keep success figures? Yeah most people drop out of AA because they can't handle being honest with themselves. The shit saved my life. P&T could literally be killing someone by attacking something they can never understand unless they develop a serious drinking problem.

  • @therealmcnulty AAs success figures are somewhere around 1 in 10...

It's not like they could really go down from there.

  • @Gritsoe rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path

  • @Darwyn7 Thats cause your blinded by your own lack of accountability..why dont you give away your problems with money...GOD might send you a suitcase full of money...FOOL

  • @magicxification wait what? I don't even understand what you mean. I have a disease of the mind. If I don't do the 12 steps every day I will perish. It's not an option for me. It's an amazing program where I have met helped and been helped by many great people. If you don't need AA then great. But why bash it just because of your own ignorance and fear?

  • @Darwyn7 Because it's forced on people and many have seen too many people die. I hate bullies. Stepper nonsense may help some, but some need to have their bullies taken down a peg or 20. Right on Penn & Teller!

  • @magicxification i got one.. you broke ass crackwhore lol

  • @Darwyn7 I personally always thought this line sounded a little too Emperor Wears No Clothes.

  • @wrenbrrd cool, let me know how that works for you, or someone you might know or love who is going to die from drugs and alcohol.

  • @Darwyn7 The 12-step program is not the only way. Surely Darwin would understand. :)

  • religion is a form of schizophrenia, detachment from reality

  • The reason normal people don't understand us addicts/alcoholics is because you're not like us, and never will be. When I talk to an alcoholic or addict, they understand my mindstate completely. My family doesn't understand, but other addicts do. Im not talking about shit like drug stories, i'm talking about train of thought, perception, thinking, etc. We addicts/alcs have a lot in common.

  • First of all, he calls AA a religious cult. Every single meeting i've been to has never preached any sort of religion. Its also not a cult.

The reason the success rate is so low is because AA/NA/CA and other 12 step fellowships aren't a CURE or PERMANENT REMEDY. 12 steps are a way of life, and you have to live them everyday not just to stay clean or sober, but to be happy and live a fulfilling life.

  • I think the Courts sending people to AA is a good idea. Having to sit through a 12 step group is torture. It is punishment. People in AA know nothing about anonymity. They tell everybody they are in the program and act proud of it, so much for privacy. I don't understand why they get bent out of shape at differences of opinion, its not like they have a disease or something. Hey all you 12 steppers, you need to listen to Penn and Teller, they are right.

  • thanks for this video i went to a 12 step in patient program for opiate abuse and its complete bullshit. Its a fucking joke im on suboxone for 3 years and have not used since. Thank you suboxone!

  • Currently in NA, working the 12 steps. I find they are useful for personal insight and to keep my thoughts on staying clean. If addiction is cancer. NA is my kemo.

(anyone in NA or AA will probably laugh with that last bit because they get it.

Normies will probably never understand NA AA CA HA, WAtever you want to call it. They are not addicts. Trust me. If you dont understand it. Its ok. Its a good thing. I wish I didnt. But I do enjoy bing sober today. I did it. NA helps. New friends new life

  • @greatdane50 thats perfect thank you

  • @greatdane50 you could have done it without reliying any power but yours. Everything you did, every step you took, every thing you stop doing, was something you alone did, by yourself. You might have found the "strengh" buying whatever they told you. But the merit is all yours, nothing you did you couldn't have done it before, it's just that now you have the conviction and will to do it.

Lie to you however you want, we all do it in different ways.

Good for you if you're out

  • @greatdane50 Normies?

  • thank you for expressing my exact opinion. this is awesome!

  • they miss out on the biggest thing!! AA is not really about quitting, that u can do on u´r own. It´s about quality of life after u quit!!!! About becoming humble and stop being a selfish prick. Learning how to enjoy life and treat others as u want to be treated. A:K:A Growing as a person. AN about GOD, as u know it. In my case it´s not religuous. I just believe in the goodness in everyone. That´s MY god. Simple and plain dudes!!!

  • I hate AA and when I've satisfied the judge who is forcing me to go...I will never return to those "rooms' of bullshit. These are adults!?!

  • @SuperFreshie i feel pretty well qualified to talk about this cause i went to a rehab once cause of the law and decided that it was not what i needed but not before putting my all into truly understanding it. the way i see it, all that treatment shit is about creating a group for people to lean on. i totally believe it can work wonders for some people but for our government to force people into it is, guess what? BULLSHIT!

  • Penn misses the first step.

You ALREADY feel like step 1 or you will never take step one.

AA is just a placebo that does even worse than any placebo. Now THAT is worth investigating with some funded research. ;^)
