  • Try getting off Pacific onto Burrard on any weekday. It's brutal. Cars crawling along, backed up for blocks, while 1 maybe 2 cyclists dawdle by.

Gregor Robertson...cavalier indeed. One can smell his arrogance a mile away.

  • A guard rail would of helped her stay where she should of stayed....

Yes, I wait in traffic all day, and I am not a supporter of taking lanes away from drivers, but would love a new bridge if it got them off the road.

  • Thanks Jane. because of morons like you we have grid lock at peak traffic hours on the bridge. and how many millions did you get for being a retard on your bike?

  • @blackangel6682 That's a pretty despicable comment. This poor woman suffered serious injury and could have been killed, and all you can think of is being delayed a few minutes if you happen to arrive at the bridge at certain busy times of the day.

  • Interesting idea. Question would be how to make it convenient and enjoyable. You'd need more capacity than Whistler to handle rush-hours. Maybe the gondola could start at Burrard and Broadway and then swing down and across the water?

  • $63 million for the full plan for a bridge thats 836 meters long = $75,358.85 per meter. The peak to peak gondola was $51 million at the top of WB and it's 4400 meters = $11,590.90 per meter. Conclusion: we can build a pedestrian only gondola for much cheaper.
