  • Agreed. In addition, in the scenario shown, to prevent the hard landing the flaring should start as the wing starts swinging forward, with the pilot experiencing almost no forward ground speed, which is counter-intuitive.

  • Which is why you should approach at trim speed ( hands all the way up )  so you have enough energy to flare if you encounter a wind gradient.
