I think it mostly has to do with actions rather than words. If you pay attention to the small things, I think you might understand it a little bit. Like how the wind had changed, the girl had oragamic pieces of paper on her ceiling and how when she let go of the piece of paper, it returned in the shape of an flower. I'm not sure of it myself or at least put it into words but hope I helped at least a little bit. :)

I love when she waits anxious till the winds changes for her reply from the flying box. That mean that she was waiting something from the other side, and even the dog gets excited about it. Then and little bit curious thing happened, she gets her answer in a flying folder. I love the touch of hope and platonic love involved in the animation, Sometimes I wish to fit in a little box like that one and pop up in the other side.

Well, it's called 'uno,' which means 'one.' So I assume that she is alone and sends letters to herself.

Since an origami is an effortful thing you make, it suggests there is something very tender in this story between the sender and the receiver. Perhaps, “Uno” here refers to “the one”, i.e. the “right person”. Sweet concept.

It sure would be neat to have this as a communication system - literal airmail would be a lovely, meaningful way to send and receive message from those we love.

Well this is what i got from it; apparently she lives on a floating island obscured by clouds and has no visual contact with any world that may or may not exist out there beyond the clouds, so every so often she sends out a message in a bottle (or the folded paper cube) and waits, hoping to receive a message from the outside world that she keeps framed through out her house.

That or it's a long distant relationship with a secret admirer who communicates through art.

@CandidlySubtle just a guess here, but i think that it may have to do with long distance love. The girl sends her letters to the other side and she recieves her answers back, obviously full of love since she seems to have been getting the paper hearts and flowers for a certain time. It might not be correct, but it makes alot more sense :)
