The question you have asked has sparked up a debate on this thread.Well,even a rookie can say that this is not Kathak.As Xxarjunaxx has pointed out,the costume for Kathak is very different ,and this costume which Vidya has worn is 90% Bharathanatyam costume and 10% Odissi costume.As far as the style is concerned,it's bharathanatyam .Kathak is slower than bharathanatyam and has got very soft movements where as bharathanatyam is fast ,vigorous, and difficult dance form.

It was scary.. eerie, suspenseful, funny, and a feast for the eyes. Loved this dance scene. Extremely well done. I really enjoyed this movie.

Manichithrathazhu the original version of this movie in malayalam is simply superb than all the other versions....mind that manichithrathazhu was released in 1993..

Guys...i am a tamilian and stay in mumbai so to be very very honest shobna and saundarya rocked.....jo was ok and vidya wasss total crap............the best was the malyalam version and all the rest were copied the last being the bollywood version.....BOLLYWOOD SEEMS TO BE COPYING EVERYTHING NOW A DAYS.....WE HAVE MADE IT A HABBIT..

@Ani4Abhi I'm a North Indian and I agree w/u!!!!! Shobhna was just splendid and there is no match!!!! But does it matter if we r from the east, west south or north???? We should all be happy 2 just watch our Indian leading ladies to be so damn talented!!! But, like u said, Shobhana not only rocked but I believe also won the National award for the Malayalam version!!!!

Cant believe im saying this but the remake is way better than the chandramukhi version, but i have to admit, Chandramukhi was way scarier than manjulika :S seriously, watch the original, it sucks but chandramukhi gave me nightmares......

i accidentally went to see this movie. The kids wanted to see some cuckoo movie, so I bought a ticket to see this, which was playing at the same time as their movie. I was so thrilled by it. It was scary.. eerie, suspenseful, funny, and a feast for the eyes. Loved this dance scene. Extremely well done. I really enjoyed this movie.

Manichithrathazhu the original version of this movie in malayalam is simply superb than all the other versions....mind that manichithrathazhu was released in 1993..

i've seen all the vesrions of this movie... telugu, tamil, malayalam and hindi. to be honest the tamil version of the movie was better, close next to that was malayalam. this version doesnt even come close to the original.
