What is the "right way" ? I replaced a junk muffler with a new muffler in the identical spot the OE one came off. There is no other spot to put it unless I were to replace the resonator which would defeat the purpose of my inexpensive muffler replacement.

I totally agree with you on that. My muffler was junk and this was a super cheap easy replacement. The rest of the exhaust is fine so I just decided to leave it as is. I'll be tossing some cherry bombs on my old '85 C-10 this summer. I'll post a video up here with that too.

@calloway322 You are so right about that! Right under the drivers seat was the normal location that made the best sound for cherry bombs. Cherry bombs sound better in pairs on V8's most especially. It really depends on the entire exhaust "system" working together to make them sound the best.

@Navajas440 The farther back you put the muffler the better. It causes less restriction if you put it farther back because the exhaust gases are cooler. Look at the old, and even the new, corvettes, the muffler is all the way in the back.
