@gardengxc this isnt the best video to show off the sterling engine....theres one guy on here that has a little one...doesnt have any water connections it has one of those solar collecting lenses pointed at it like a giant magnifying glass and the thing runs like a 2 stroke engine,lol...youd deff get more then 2 watts out of it..i forgot to favorite it tho..so youll just have to search it out
The big problem with reading about advancements is that much of it won't hit the market for 10-30 yrs if at all. I want to see if I can find this reflective film, cut it to fit in my laser printer then dump out the powdered ink and fill it with a conductive ink, create the proper design on my computer then start printing my own flexible solar panels as mentioned was done by a Japanese inventor. nothing will be allowed on the market that will disrupt oil production on a large scale
If you used thermal heat from the earth that runs 24hours a day. You don't think running at that speed you won't get more than 2 watts?
I like solar no fuel is the answer as any purchased liquid even water rises in price with demand. Solar always seems to be cost prohibitive & solar is manufactured with a failure rate. I have heard that the systems require frequent repairs & the repairmen charge high rates to work on them. I need to figure out how to make my own flexible solar sheets
I'm confused. It's a very old non-electrical water pump. I mean, I'm fascinated by the fact that they made these things back then, but... it's a water pump. It's interesting history, but... I mean, reading from your comments, combine it with fire and... what? Hydrogen burns (and takes more energy to create than you get out of it), old technology, water pumps are not new, although this one is very old... what exactly is the point of all this?
The water pump converted could run a generator to power a house.
The heat source to run it can be a solar lens.
That's "Free Energy"
Other people have varied ideas as to what cheap or free heat source could be used. A creative mind can figure out how to take this old technology combined with new technology and produce monetarily free energy. A person might want to use wasted heat from a gas water heater or gas furnace, there are lots of ways.
WHat he meant to say was... The air is heated "here" and then it is expanded "here" which cools it rapidly causing it to form a partial vaccum and thenthe atmosphere provides the power stroke .
What is really exciting about Stirling is that if you made one as big as a car , and fed it a river of fuel , it would provide enough"free"energy to run a TV . That old Rider engine is making 1hp max .
How in God's name do you define free energy? What you described is conventional energy that has been used since we learned how to do it, this historical water pump is just a water pump, and putting lots of energy into a system can do really cool things, but what is free about it, in any way imaginable? That's what we do, we take a power source and use it for engines that drive entire ships and so forth... we've done that since like 1800.
I'm glad you asked ! With the recent congressional ammendments to the laws of physics we are now able to burn through billions in tax dollars and use the resulting heat to boil up mega batches of ethanol . But it is still inefficient . I have improved thermal efficiency by cutting out the middleman and stuffing my own cash directly into the firebox of my engine . I switched from 50 dollar bills to 20's and doubled my efficiency !

I'd use a solar heat gatherer to heat it.

STIRLING engine not sterling and also it's a ERICSSON engine on your video...

Stirling engines can be heated by concentrated solar through Fresnel lenses or dish.
Simple as long as the sun shines.
