actually thiers a contorl panel on the officers side of the cab that controls all the pumps,lines,and booms on the truck..all the driver does is drive the truck and position it so the officer can do his job

From what I know, I beleive they control it from somewhere in the cab.

@nmfdchris the guy that stepped out of the cab was controlling it and locked it in that possition when he got out of the truck... the boom is specifically designed for fighting fires from plane crashes and is controlled by an operator inside the cab
